Chapter 19 You Deserve to Die Alone

Aurelia watched expressionlessly as Vanessa raised her hand and slapped Evelyn in the face.
Vanessa seemed to think that this was not enough, so she raised her hand again, ready to give another slap.
“Ah! Mom!” Evelyn was slapped hard and cried in pain.
Evelyn was cunning and vicious in front of Aurelia, but innocent and kind in front of her classmates at school.
Frederic looked at this scene and just rubbed his temples in frustration, but did not stop Vanessa from reprimanding Evelyn.
Aurelia was touched as she saw Vanessa defend her. So she wouldn’t hold it against Evelyn for what she had said just now. She went over and stopped Vanessa. “Aunt Vanessa, enough. I really appreciate it.”
“I’m sorry, Aurelia. I’ve told her to be nice to you since she was a kid. Has she ever changed?” Vanessa was the principal of a kindergarten, who had a good personality and temper, but she couldn’t do anything about Evelyn.
The youngest daughter of the Malice family, Valerie Malice, was more obedient than Evelyn and had a good relationship with Aurelia.
Minutes later.
Evelyn was taken to the second floor by the servant to put ice on her face. Frederic started to make coffee.
Aurelia, who was sitting with Vanessa, took out her phone and silently sent a message to Callum. “Go easy on Evelyn. I’m going to New York to talk to Grandpa about our divorce.”
Callum must be busy, since he hadn’t texted her back yet.
The three of them were chatting casually. Before long, a phone call from work called Frederic back to the office.
After Frederic left, Aurelia looked at the coffee in the cup, thinking about what Evelyn had just said, and asked softly, “Aunt Vanessa, who is my mother? Why didn’t my father tell me about her before he died?” When Niall was dying, he would rather entrust her to a strange man than tell Aurelia who was her mother.
Bringing up Aurelia’s mother made Vanessa’s face change drastically. She put down the cup abruptly, half of the coffee in the cup spilling over. “I don’t want to talk about her. She is a heartless woman.”
Aurelia’s mother abandoned Niall and her when Aurelia was just an infant.
Seeing Vanessa’s fierce reaction, Aurelia held back what she wanted to say.
Before leaving, Vanessa asked her softly, “You and him… haven’t met yet?”
Of course Aurelia knew who she was talking about. Callum.
Vanessa only knew that she was married, but she didn’t know who Aurelia’s husband was.
Aurelia hesitated and answered honestly, “Yes, but I’m filing for divorce. I’m still young…” She didn’t want to be bound by a marriage in name only.
Vanessa was stunned for a moment, then she nodded. “You made your choice. No matter what, you have my back.”
“Thank you, Vanessa.”
After leaving the Malice family, Aurelia caught sight of a doghouse next to her, her face darkening. This doghouse was the biggest reason why she hated Evelyn.
Half a day passed, and Callum still didn’t text her back.
But…
Aurelia looked at Evelyn who suddenly appeared in front of her. They were at school. Evelyn’s appearance here at this time meant that she had returned to school. Aurelia also knew it was time to go to New York.
Evelyn’s swollen face had gone down a lot thanks to timely treatment. After applying the foundation, it was hard to notice the swelling unless she looked closely.
A smug look swept across Evelyn’s face. “You’re getting cocky because you think Elliot is behind you. But you know what? Even Elliot had to listen to Mr. Finnegan.”
She heard Frederic tell Vanessa that she was able to return to school because Callum had forgiven her.
Evelyn herself was also wondering. It was Callum who expelled her from school, but now he changed his mind and allowed her to come back. Why?
Could it be that… Callum was attracted to her because she was pretty? After knowing that it was her who was expelled from school, he rushed to fix his mistakes, right?
Thinking of this, Evelyn couldn’t help laughing out loud.
She felt extremely good as she knew she had something to do with Callum.
With her hands in her coat pockets, Aurelia glanced at her lazily before saying, “You’re crazy. Get out of my face.” What did this have to do with Elliot?
“Aurelia, let me tell you. The reason I can go back to school now is because of Mr. Finnegan. You know Mr. Finnegan, right? The one who turned you down when you confessed to him!”
Aurelia looked at her like Evelyn was an idiot. How could she not recognize her husband?
It seemed that Evelyn had a poor memory. “You know better than anyone why I confessed to Callum. Also, who told you that Callum turned me down?”
Evelyn was stunned by her last sentence. “You mean, Mr. Finnegan accepted you?” Then she added sarcastically, “Are you trying to tell me that you and Mr. Finnegan are together? Haha, Aurelia, look at you! Who will be interested in a mannish woman like you? If Mr. Finnegan falls in love with you, I will do whatever you ask!”
Aurelia didn’t bother to talk nonsense with her. She had already booked a flight to New York. She was in a hurry to go to the dormitory to pack her luggage. She also had to go back to the Finnegan family’s villa later. She couldn’t waste more time. Otherwise, she would miss the flight.
Watching her leaving, Evelyn gritted her teeth and shouted, “Aurelia, you no longer have Niall to back you up. I really don’t know why you are so arrogant! Relying on Briar and Elliot? Humph! Just wait. I will definitely marry a better man than you!”
Hearing her father’s name, Aurelia looked up at the sky, which was a clear blue. She took a deep breath and said, “You’ve already lost, Evelyn.”
In Evercrest… No, in the entire country, no one could compare to Callum.
Niall had given her the best man, but unfortunately… She wasn’t able to deal with him.
“What do you mean? Don’t go. Tell me!” Evelyn took a step forward and tried to hold her back.
Aurelia suddenly turned around, stretched out her fist, and shook it in front of Evelyn, warning fiercely, “If you keep messing with me, I will beat you to death today!”
Evelyn had seen how good Aurelia fought, so she immediately took several steps back to distance herself from her, angrily saying, “I don’t know what kind of pervert would like you! You deserve to die alone, and you deserve to be an unwanted woman!”
“Why would I rely on a man in this life?” Aurelia retorted.

Aurelia had just boarded the plane when rumors spread that she liked women. Undoubtedly, everything linked with the name ‘Aurelia’ led to heated debates in Evercrest College.
In New York.
Aurelia wrapped her down jacket tightly around her and before leaving the airport terminal. She called Rory and asked for Callum’s grandfather’s address.
After learning the address, Aurelia asked curiously, “Why is he in the hospital? What happened to Mr. Finnegan?”
