People present wondered whether Aurelia and Elliot knew each other.
It was said that Aurelia had a very powerful background. Could it be that the Richmond family was behind her back?
Or was it that Aurelia’s background was so impressive that even Elliot couldn’t afford to mess with her?
Elliot stood up, took out a printed list of names, and said, “I’ve pulled the surveillance tape. It was Jay Samuel and Henry Joan who started first. As the ones who are responsible for this mess, they will be openly criticized in front of the school later. Briar, you and the others will have to run ten laps on the playground as punishment. Larry didn’t do anything though, you’re an accomplice. I’ll let you supervise them and tell me when they’re done.”
After saying that, there was no sign of him speaking again.
Jay couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Richmond, it’s unfair… Aurelia and Briar beat us like this, especially Aurelia. Isn’t there any… punishment for her?
If his family hadn’t warned him not to mess with Elliot in Evercrest, Jay would have overturned Elliot’s desk by now.
Aurelia was a little confused and shocked by Elliot’s behavior, guessing what Elliot was thinking.
Elliot raised his eyes and glanced at them. “You all go back first. Aurelia stays.”
After Jay and his buddy left, only Aurelia’s friends remained motionless.
Because Aurelia hadn’t left yet. What if Elliot made things difficult for Aurelia? Thinking of this, Briar immediately stood in front of Aurelia and said, “Mr. Richmond, Aurelia never wanted to start a fight, but I made her do that. Don’t punish her. Punish me instead!”
Elliot curled his lips when he heard this and looked at Briar, “I’ve heard so much about you guys. Aurelia, you do have a lot of good friends.”
Briar nodded proudly. “We have been Aurelia’s friends for many years. Our friendship is not something that outsiders can understand!”
Briar and Aurelia had known each other the longest, about six or seven years, then Cathy, Liana and finally Larry.
Elliot already knew these things without him saying anything. Not only did he know these things, he also knew their family backgrounds. After all, he had carefully investigated everyone around Aurelia.
“I won’t make things difficult for her. I just have something to ask her. You guys may leave now”
When Briar walked out of the office, he looked back at Aurelia and Elliot with a suspicious look on his face. He really didn’t know how Aurelia and Elliot knew each other, and Aurelia had never mentioned it either.
Before this, Aurelia didn’t really know Elliot. If he wasn’t the principal of their school, Aurelia and he would just be strangers.
After everyone left, Aurelia was the first to speak, “Are you going to tell me that you were the one who told Callum that?”
She couldn’t find any other reason for Elliot to keep her here for a talk.
Without answering her question, Elliot put down the name list in his hand and pointed at the sofa. “Have a seat.”
Aurelia had no choice but to sit down and watched in confusion as Elliot poured a glass of water and handed it to her.
She stood up, took the water, put it on the table, and said in a broken voice, “Mr. Richmond, if you have something to say, just say it directly. You are making me very anxious!”
Aurelia had made many mistakes in school before, and every time she made mistakes, she had to report to the dean. Both the dean and her homeroom teacher wanted to kick her out of school.
No one was as polite as Elliot, so Aurelia felt extremely uneasy now.
Elliot looked at her and smiled. “I did hear your confession to Callum, but I didn’t tell him. He is now asking his secretary to find out who tampered with the flash drive used in the press conference.”
Huh? The press conference?
Seeing her confusion, Elliot didn’t explain much. She could find out what was going on by herself after she searched online. He kept her here today for something else. “Callum asked me to find an excuse to kick you out of school. Did you know him?”
Just a few minutes after the incident happened, he received a call from Callum while watching the live broadcast of ZL Group.
This meant that Callum had known Aurelia, way before this incident.
“We’ve met a few times. Mr. Richmond, that was a long story!” Although Aurelia had many doubts, she answered him truthfully.
Noticing her gloomy expression, Elliot understood. Based on Aurelia’s personality, she was probably having a fight with Callum.
He sat down across from her and spoke earnestly, “Go back and study hard. Leave Callum to me. You don’t have to worry about this matter. Avoid him when you see him in the future. And don’t harbour any unrealistic ideas towards him. He is not someone you can afford to offend. Understand?”
Nodding silently, Aurelia walked out of Elliot’s office and stared at the garden in front of her in a daze. Did Elliot know her before? Why was he so nice to her?
She could feel that the way he treated her was like the care that an elder had for a younger person, without any other impurities.
Back in the classroom, when Aurelia saw a message on her phone sent by Briar, she realized everything.
“Evelyn, my dear cousin, if I ever show mercy to you again. I will no longer be one of the Sheridan family!”
At ZL Group.
In the president’s office, Callum put out his cigarette, signed his name at the end of the document, closed the document, and asked Jim without even looking up, “How is the investigation going?”
Jim answered truthfully, “The deputy general manager called just now. His flash drive was hacked when it was inserted into the computer. The video was forcibly added to his flash drive. As for the identity of the hacker, it has not been found out yet.”
Hacker? Callum sneered. This must be part of that shameless Aurelia’s plan!
He threw away the pen in his hand in annoyance and said, “Get out!”
“Okay, by the way, Mr. Finnegan, there will be a party for the Richmond family tomorrow night. Do you…”
“I’ll take some time to attend.”
“And your date?”
Callum didn’t want to waste his time thinking about such things. Any woman would be fine, so he casually said the name, “Madam Monroe’s granddaughter.” He didn’t remember her name.
“Aidan Monroe,” Jim reminded.
“Yeah, that’s her.”
“Okay, Mr Finnegan.”
After Jim left, Callum’s phone buzzed. It was a text message. He didn’t want to check it, but it was a text message from his personal phone. He unlocked the screen and saw an unfamiliar number. “Hello, Mr. Finnegan, I am your wife whom you have never met. I would like to ask you to take half a minute out of your busy schedule to sign the divorce papers. Looking forward to your reply!”
Callum thought for a few seconds and texted, “Let’s meet tomorrow.”
