“They’ve gone all out!”
“If I’d known earlier, I wouldn’t have let them off so easily.”
“What should I do if it leaves a scar?”
“Does it hurt?”
Rosiley nagged while disinfecting Yayoi’s wounds.
Yayoi looked up quietly and she captured all of Xia’s worry with her eyes… and her heart.
“Next time when dealing with those losers, just stay away from them. Understand?”
Rosiley lowered her gaze and looked at her. She then added, “Distancing ourselves from them doesn’t mean that we are scared. It’s because we can’t be bothered to fight with them. Understand?”
“Yes, I understand.” Yayoi nodded and then flashed her a bright smile. “Rosiley, you sound like my mother when you nag.”
“Really? Then why don’t you call me Mom?” Rosiley joked with her.
Unexpectedly, Yayoi really opened her mouth and said, “Rosiley… Mom.”
“You really did it!” Rosiley rolled her eyes angrily. “I’m still young. I can’t have a daughter as big as you.”
Yayoi pretended to be dissatisfied and muttered, “I let you take advantage of me for nothing, yet you still despise me.”
Rosiley could not help laughing. “No, I don’t despise you at all. In fact, I’m extremely happy.”
After she had applied the ointment on her wounds, Rosiley looked at them carefully and said, “I hope they won’t leave any scars.”
“No way, the wound is so small, it’d be strange if it left a scar.” Compared to Rosiley’s concern, Yayoi was indifferent.
Seeing that Xia was still staring at her worriedly, Yayoi got up and took her arm. She comforted her gently, “It’s okay, I don’t tend to scar, there probably won’t be one.”
Then, she pulled her out of the room. “Go back to work. I’ll treat you to something delicious once you’re done.”
After dinner with Yayoi and doing some shopping in the mall, it was already after 10 o’clock when Rosiley got home.
When she pushed the door open, she was welcomed by a dim and silent room.
It was already so late, the maids had already gone back to their rooms to rest.
She closed the door gently and changed into indoor slippers. Then, she tiptoed upstairs.
When she passed by the study, she saw the light shining through the crack under the door. She paused and stretched out her hand to push the door open. She saw Sachin sitting behind the black desk with his head lowered. He was looking at something seriously.
His hair was all combed back, showing his round and smooth forehead. The light fell onto him fully, creating a faint halo around his dark hair. His whole appearance looked extra young and energetic.
He seemed to have not heard the door being pushed open and continued keeping his head down. Suddenly, he felt that there was one more person in the room.
She quietly walked over, went around the desk, and went up behind him. She stretched out her hands to cover his eyes.
She could obviously feel that he was startled. Her lips curled and she pinched her throat and asked, “Guess who I am.”
“Rosiley.” Sachin smiled and lifted his hand to hold hers. He pulled it down and looked up into her bright, smiling eyes.
“Why did you come back so late?” he asked.
“Yayoi wanted to go shopping, so I accompanied her, which was why I came back late.”
Rosiley pulled out her hand from his palm. She placed both hands behind her back and came to his side, then lowered her head and looked at the documents on the table.
“You were so focused just now and didn’t even hear me coming in. You were reading this?”
It was Thunderbolt Entertainment Group’s financial statement.
“Yes, this is the company’s management situation for the quarter.” He reached out his hand and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his arms.
