Zech sat in his study, his brows furrowed in deep concentration, he was lost in his thoughts, Vin sat across him staring at him in confusion and curiosity.
“What happened? Did you find the seer?” Vin could no longer hold it as the suspense was killing him, he needed to know what happened and why Zech was not saying anything since he entered the house.
The seer Zech had gone to visit was supposed to give him something anything to use against peter, but now it was just another dead end, he was so frustrated, when he arrived at the designated location, he found an abandoned house, showing signs of struggle and neglect. It was clear that the place had been deserted for a long time. He knew something was wrong, someone must have taken them by force, it was none other than Peter.
Vincent leaned forward, breaking the silence. “Zech, we already know who might have taken the Seer, but why would he need them? Why will my father even ask you to see the seer? This is all beginning to get complicated” he used his two fingers to press the flesh between his nose in frustration.
Zech sighed, frustration evident in his voice. “I’m not sure, Vincent. I thought I was on the right track, I thought it was gonna be easy, but it seems like someone has beaten us to it. The house was empty, and there were signs of a struggle. He must have taken them a long time ago, because the house seem deserted”
Vincent’s eyes widened in realization “Do you think he knows something we don’t or maybe the witches have told them something”.
“He wouldn’t have held them captive if they had told him something, I bet he needs them for something that’s why he took them” he was really angry with himself for not going to see the witches earlier.
“It’s starting to look like Peter has his eyes on me, but not for long. Peter has always been cunning and resourceful. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he anticipated our moves and took precautions to cover his tracks or his father already told him about the witches long ago, but something is not adding up, he has always been cunning but not smart.
Vincent leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. “But why would he go through all this trouble just for the witches? What does he need them for, there’s more to this than the eyes can see”.
Zech’s jaw clenched as he pondered the question. “Peter has always been envious of my position as the Alpha, since we were little he was always so jealous, that’s why his father and my so-called mother he dragged to word mother, ganged up to betray my father and took his pack. He said with so much coldness in his voice.
I suspect he’s planning something else, something that could potentially finish me off once and for all. Since his last plan of assassination failed, I know he wouldn’t stop there. He must have some other new Plan in motion” he rested his back on the chair with an evil cold smirk on his face.
Vincent’s eyes narrowed with determination. “We can’t let him get away with this, Zech. We need to find out his plans and put an end to it, before they come to fruition.
Zech nodded in agreement. “You’re right, Vincent. We can’t afford to underestimate him. We need to be one step ahead. I know a witch who can help us but she always demands something in return”.
Vincent’s gaze hardened. ” You mean the infamous Witch Zanya, who most People claim is mad, you can’t be thinking of that right?”.
“Well if you have any other solutions feel free to speak up” he said looking at him silently, “we don’t have time to waste” he patted Vine shoulders to reassure him.
Vin signed in defeated “Okay so what about the seer? Could they have been working with Peter?”
Zech’s face darkened with suspicion. “It’s possible. The timing is too coincidental. I’ll have to investigate further and find out if the seer was involved or manipulated in any way, we can’t just conclude based on assumptions”.
Vin nodded his head in agreement. As the two friends continued their discussion, a sense of urgency filled the room. They knew that time was of the essence, and they needed to act swiftly to uncover Peter’s plans and protect their pack from the tyrant leader.
Zech stood up, determination etched on his face. “Vincent, gather our most trusted allies. We’ll need their help in this battle. We cannot face Peter alone.”
Vincent nodded, his eyes gleaming with resolve. “Consider it done, Zech. We’ll rally the beta males and females who can fight and prepare for whatever comes our way. Peter won’t know what hit him.”
As soon as they were con talking, a piece of paper appeared on the table. It was squeezed in a very rough manner, Vin looked at the Paper with questions in his eyes, But Zech already knew the kind of people able to send such, buy why.
Zech took the paper and opened it, it was plain. He looked a little confused. “Why is it plain?” Vin asked curiously.
Then he remembered, when he was little he saw his father receive a letter in this manner. It was plain at first, but as soon as he put a drop of his blood the note on the paper appeared.
He immediately stood up and grabbed a knife from his drawer, he cut a tip of his finger and blood flowed slowly into the paper, soon the note appeared, Vin was beyond surprised, he hadn’t seen something like this before.
Zech read the note out loud “meet me at the old bridge that leads to your pack at night in three days time , I have something to tell you it’s urgent Luisa”.
Vin frowned his face “the only person that has mastered this act of sending messages like this, only the priestess of the witches, but I think this is a trap, it not a coincidence, you went to look for her today and he sends you a message more like she knew you would come”.
Zech didn’t say anything, he was in deep thought”Trap or not I have to find out what she has to say, it might be important”.
“But Zech, it might be dangerous, what if Peter ambushes you”. His worry was evident in his voice and his face.
“Don’t worry, I won’t die so easily, and besides, I have you to protect me right, if he really sent me this letter, she must be risking it all so it’s a 50/50 let just give it a shot”.
He stood up from his chair and poured whiskey into two glasses he handed to Vin, “don’t worry, I’ll be fine okay” he sips his drink then he looks at the time “isn’t she back yet” he asked.
“No I don’t think so, I guess she’s having a good time, he must have forgotten it already late”.
The minute he just finished saying that the whole room dropped to a freezing point, he instantly blamed himself for blabbing those words, as Zech’s face was washes with anger.
They heard the door squeaking open, he could already tell who it was, he rushed out and headed to the sitting room.
