I glared at him as all three of my friends started laughing at me as I sulked. Whatever, I still got to see his face over video chat daily.
Landon finally pulled out of the parking lot and headed towards the mall. I pulled out my phone as I felt it vibrate and grinned when I saw a text from the guy who I was now physically missing because of my three wonderful friends.
N Do you want to see the most beautiful thing in Europe ?
I frowned at my phone. He would sometimes send me beautiful scenery in Europe, other times he’d send me pictures of weird random people.
S I swear if it’s another pic of some old crackhead, no video chat tonight.
I hit send and got a reply almost instantly. I quickly opened it up to see it was a picture. I clicked it and waited for it to load. I burst out laughing to see he had taken a picture of himself with his face scrunched up in a cute way.
S You just called yourself beautiful..
Usually I was the one who called him beautiful and he hated that.
N Well you’re not here to call me beautiful so I thought I’d do it myself 😛
I grinned at his reply.
S Don’t worry, soon as you get back I’ll make sure to call you beautiful enough times to make you feel like a princess 😉
I smiled and looked out to see that we were already at the mall and Landon was just parking.
Alright let’s get some beautiful dresses ! Jess exclaimed in excitement before everyone got out. I shook my head before getting out and catching up to my friends who were already at the entrance.
Since Spring Break was only a week away and my graduation was a few days before it, Jess had insisted we needed to get dresses. Landon surely wouldn’t have come had it not been for Ella. He finally knew what it was like to be in love, although neither of the two had said the word yet.
I took my phone out from my pocket as I felt it vibrate again. Pulling the door to the mall entrance open, I stepped in and read his message.
N No thank you, that’s my job -_- now you send me a picture of the most beautiful thing back home.
I chuckled at his reply.
S Well I’m at the mall so there’s nothing too beautiful here…
I looked up from my phone to see that my friends were nowhere to be seen. I sighed, before realizing what this meant. A grin slowly crept it’s way to my face.
Quickly walking over to Orange Julius, I ordered myself my signature strawberry shake and paid for it, before walking over to a bench and sitting down on it, getting comfortable. Now that my friends were gone, I could just hang out here and text Nathan while they spent hours picking dresses. I’m sure Ella and Jess would get mad once they found me here and Landon would probably get mad at me too… for not inviting him to join me.
I opened up his reply while taking a sip from my delicious smoothie.
N That same mall where we first met ? I bet you’re imagining me there now 😉 and I meant take a picture of yourself silly.
I grinned at his reply and compliment.
S I am imagining you here… I’m imagining you covered in strawberry smoothie, cursing and all flustered as I kick you in the shins 😉
I hit send, before opening up the camera app and facing the camera towards me. I held up my smoothie next to my face, before closing my eyes and sticking my tongue out. I quickly took the picture before people could start to judge me and sent it to him.
And then my phone started ringing. I got excited thinking that Nathan was calling but frowned once I saw it was Jess’ number.
Yes ? I asked picking up.
Where the hell are you !? She screamed down the phone, causing me to pull it away from me as I winced.
Oh you finally noticed ! I squealed, feigning happiness.
I heard her sigh. Skylar get your butt up from wherever you are and get over here. She commanded.
I sighed. But I don’t even need a dress ! The actual graduation ceremony isn’t until June. And as for the Spring Dance, you know I don’t want to go. I complained to her. Although I was graduating early and was getting my diploma before most people, I still had to attend the actual ceremony.
Fine. But at least buy one dress. You can wear it to both events but you’re going to the Spring Dance. She said in a tone of finality.
I sighed. So demanding. I guess I could go. I already felt bad for blowing off a lot of plans with Jess and Landon just so that I could spend more time with Nathan. I still hung out with them a lot, it’s just that some days I wanted to spend in bed video chatting him all day. We tended to have a lot of those days where he’d be laying in bed too, not wanting to go anywhere and we’d just talk with each other.
Fine. Where are you guys ? I asked her, sipping my smoothie with a slight pout.
Where do you think ? Jess asked with a hint of humor in her tone.
I sighed. I’m coming. I replied, before ending the call and getting up. As soon as I exited the phone app, I got a notification from Nathan. Quickly opening up the text, I couldn’t stop a grin.
N Damn I miss that face. And don’t tell me that’s a strawberry smoothie -_-
I quickly typed a reply as I slowly made my way over to Abercrombie and Fitch.
S What else would I get ? Anyways, Jess is forcing me to buy a dress so I have to go I’ll text you when I get home.
I entered the shop and went to the back where Jess and Ella would most likely be trying on dresses. My phone buzzed in my hand and I looked down.

S Oh I was ready to go to this Spring Dance in my sweats since I don’t see any point in trying to look good when you’re not even here 😛 But I guess you’ll just have to bear with a bunch of guys hitting on me since Jess will doll me up and I’ll be all by myself… 😉
