It broke me to see the girl I loved in this state.
You can’t know that until you make the decision yourself. I told her. You were forced to stay with me, and you have such a big heart that your compassion shone through everything and ended up putting you at risk for me and my family.
This is me making a decision ! She said in frustration. Nathan, after today everything was going to get better ! It’s almost all over, we’re so close ! Don’t push me away now. She pleaded.
It would all be over if something happened to you. Or Tyler, or Max, or Landon. I can’t and won’t put you guys through that. I answered, pleading her with my eyes to understand.
I watched as she opened her mouth a few times, before closing. Then, I watched as the love of my life turned away from me and ran off, leaving me here broken-hearted. I felt like she had taken a large piece of me as she disappeared.
It’s for the best, I kept telling myself. Her safety is above anything else…
~~~ SKYLAR’S POV ~~~
I kept running, not knowing where I was going at all. I felt the tears streaming down my face endlessly, my heart feeling as if someone had shattered it to a billion pieces.
I spotted the women’s washroom sign and ran in, rushing to the sink and splashing cold water over my already wet face. I ignored all the nosy stares I was getting and gripped the counter, taking deep breaths.
After I had calmed myself down, I looked up to see my face was now only slightly red.
Now what ?
I had no idea. I knew I wasn’t going home, that’s for sure. How could he not know that he was my home ? How could he so easily decide this for me ? How dare he ? All my sadness turned into anger suddenly.
It was as if a sign had been thrown to me when I saw a flight attendant walk out of a bathroom stall and start washing her hands at the sink next to mine. I stared at the young lady, then looked to see that the restrooms had now become empty, it was now just me and her.
No. You are not going back to him.
Oh who was I kidding. We all knew that I would. I didn’t know if it was the rebellious side of me that convinced me to do it and rub it in Nathan’s face that he couldn’t control my life, or if it was my heart telling me to run back to him.
Whatever it was, it worked, because I turned just as the flight attendant turned to leave, blocking her path.
Yes, can I help you ? She asked politely.
Oh I was just wondering, is your flight number 1675 ? I asked her innocently.
Why yes it is ! May I ask why ? She said in the same polite tone.
Oh no reason, I just needed a flight attendant to knock out so I can get on that plane. I smiled up at her.
Wait, what ? She asked, confusion showing in her soft features.
Without warning, I lunged at her, placing my hand on her mouth to muffle her screams as I dragged her into one of the stalls.
I was lucky that Nathan had taught me how to knock out someone unconsciously without hurting them. I don’t think I had it in me to hurt this sweet, young flight attendant. But if it were Ryland, there would be no hesitation…
I pinched a certain nerve on her shoulder, which caused her flailing arms to slow and her screams to hush down, before her body slumped down.
Once I confirmed she was still alive but unconscious, I turned to close the toilet seat behind me, before lifting her thin figure onto the seat in a sitting position. Smiling at my result, I began unbuttoning her white shirt.
Now before all you pervs go thinking that I’m suddenly attracted to the same gender, let me remind you that I needed to dress like her, otherwise Ryland would surely not let me step foot onto that plane. Better yet, security wouldn’t.
Once I had swapped our clothes and taken her boarding pass, name-tag and passport, I turned to walk out, but then remembered that there was still a possibility that she’d wake up early. So with no other choice, I gagged her as well as I could with a heck of a lot of toilet paper. Then I tied her wrists and ankles.
Once I was certain she wouldn’t be able to break loose as easily, I locked the stall, climbed out from under, and stood up as if nothing had happened.
But unfortunately, there was a little girl standing there that had been watching with wide eyes.
I shot her an overly sweet smile, before walking over to the mirror and starting to make a bun with my hair.
I discreetly checked the attendant’s passport to see that her hair was thankfully almost the same color as mine, just a hint of a shade lighter. I placed the hat on my head, pulling it down so that it covered my eyes partially and that no one could recognize me. Next, I pulled out bright red lipstick I had packed in my jean pocket at the last minute. After I had smeared on a sufficient amount, I tucked it away in the flight attendant’s pencil skirt. I must admit, I’d make a smokin’ hot flight attendant. The skirt and the shirt clung not too tight but just enough to show off my curves. I grinned at my appearance, before turning and walking out in my new five inch heels that luckily had only been a centimeter too big.
I walked out of the washrooms and looked around. I was surprised when I saw Tyler, Max and Landon all standing there, thankfully they weren’t the type of guys that wore their shades indoors and had the decency to have taken them off.
What are you- I started asking, but Landon cut me off. Everyone seemed to be doing that lately.
Nathan sent us here to pick you up and take you home. Landon said with a small smile.
But I’m not going- I started to protest, but once again, my lovely friend decided to intercept my voice with his.
I know, which is why we’re actually here to get you on that plane. Also, we were going to knock out some air hostess but I see you’ve already done that. Landon grinned at me.
It took me a while to process what they were saying. When it finally registered in my brain that they were all on my side, a large grin took over my face.
I’m not exactly stoked about turning down the opportunity to get you home, but I had a feeling you’d rebel against us anyway. Tyler spoke up now, giving me a look.
Awe shucks. I really do have the best brother in the world. I grinned at him cheekily.
Yeah, yeah. He brushed off.
Ahem. We were the two that had to win this stubborn kid over. Max said, pointing to himself and Landon.
Kid ? Tyler said aloud.
What do you guys want me to do, give you a trophy ? I asked them teasingly.
Yes. Landon answered straight away.
Well since I don’t have one on me, I guess we’ll have to settle with a group hug. I said with a shrug.
