Chapter 108. A Mysterious History of Zlatav

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

The medical room now looked deserted. Madame Oistorin had left five notoriously naughty children at the Ztatzav Orphanage. The place was extensive and quiet, so there was only silence, which was very suitable for resting.
The beautiful girl, who was always jealous of Alexa, could not hold back the anger stored in her soul. Her right hand held the cheek stained with the liquid made so that the beauty she had always been proud of disappeared.
Damn you, Alexa! How dare you hurt my beautiful face, causing it to become damaged like this. I swear, I will repay the heartache because beautiful skin is significant. I do not want to know; anything will be done as long as this revenge is avenged! What a Witch! Odessa’s determination burned in her heart.
The four other teenagers who bullied Alexa were still in the health room to accompany Odessa. A beautiful and cunning girl kept cursing her unharmable opponent as usual. Meanwhile, Frazto, Drutz, Shul, and Drena were still scared because they remembered the terrible incident in front of Alexa’s room.
Fratzo glanced at his other friends, then motioned for them to follow him. Luckily, Drutz, Shul, and Drena were looking at the boy, so they understood. However, before doing as directed, the three children noticed Odessa, who had now changed her position to lie down and turn her back to them, so it was safe to stay away from the area for a while.
The four children, constantly misbehaving with Alexa, now walked towards the corner of the health room, where the area was hidden and safe enough to converse.
“What was wrong, Frazto?” asked a skinny boy with half-shabby clothes.
The young man, whose name had just been mentioned as soon as possible, looked at the caller. Fratzo, who was still afraid, could not directly explain because the frightening atmosphere at the scene seemed to follow them there.
“I feel… there was something wrong with Alexa. She was like other people, and I am sure there is a connection with the ancient prophecy we all know about. Physical characteristics, strange powers, it was all in her. Could it be the girl? l Is that indeed the messenger of the Goddess Magia?” answered Fratzo.
Silence fell there. They all shuddered in fear because they knew about the ancient prophecy and did not want to take the risk of harming the hazel-eyed girl, even though it was too late, considering that this had been going on for years.
“You mean that incident? I admit that the atmosphere above was terrifying as if a spirit had arrived from another world. According to history books, especially in the section on witches and their development, the kingdom was never happy with the magical world, so it intended to eliminate it. They are from the Zlatav country. The previous emperors had tried to do this, but everything was done in vain. However, there was a strange part, namely the existence of an ancient prophecy and a legendary curse. This incident was committed in the book we read, so all that was known was the prophecy about the Goddess Magia’s messenger, while the curse was not mentioned,” blurted Drena.
All eyes turned to the girl. They could not believe that Drena, who never talked much, would say something unexpected. “What did that mean, Drena? How can you read all that? The books mentioned are never in the lessons we usually receive,” argued Shul.
The red-haired teenage girl shook her head several times. She was not surprised because the three boys had never read other books apart from those told by their teachers.
“You never go to the library. I even sneaked into the section for ancient and forbidden books. Luckily, Madame Oislon did not know. If she caught me at that time, it would be awful.” Drena explained.
Frazto, Drutz, and Shul became interested, so they wanted to find out more. They did not expect the girl who was always together in the group to have a strange habit, but it was beneficial.
“Please explain what you know about the ancient curse and its connection to the legendary prophecy mentioned. We have never been told in more detail, only the gist of it. If the legend is true, there must be a cause. There cannot be fire if there is no smoke before that,” Drutz challenged.
Drena looked at Drutz with a look of disbelief and annoyance.
How is it possible that I am friends with this stupid boy? That foolish question was a result of the fact that they did not like studying and liked to cheat when taking exams for promotions so that they could get a grade up to avoid punishment. Drutz only just realized such important information. He was suck! Drena was very angry, but she kept it all to herself.
“Okay, have you ever read about the history of our country’s kingdom, Zlatav? If you never know it, let alone read it, it will be difficult to explain because everything there is basic,” explained the virgin.
The three boys were silent, but from their body language, they seemed to be thinking. After waiting a long time and getting no answer, let alone a nod, the girl felt it was useless to explain because her friends never studied seriously.
“Drena, just try to explain. We all do not understand things like that. If you know better, tell me now, and do not play riddles.” Shul said irritably.
A young woman glared at the relatively short boy with a bald head standing next to Drutz. They all looked impatient because no one cared about the history of their own country.
“You all are really lousy! I read that the kingdom’s founder seemed to have a debt to the wizards, in this case, the Dark Witch. This event was something importany, so I concluded myself. There was a page that appeared was to be deliberately torn, so it was not known what was written there.” The girl who liked to read started telling stories in a mysterious tone.
“Then, how can you conclude about that? It could be that the missing page has not been there for a long time, so it’s unsurprising if it was not found. What does this have to do with Alexa?” Fratzo argued.
Drena shook her head. She was genuinely convinced that what he had read was all interconnected, especially regarding the arrival of the blessed witch, a messenger from the Goddess Magia herself.
“Do not interrupt me unless you understand the history of this country. Do you want me to continue the story or not?” challenged the dark brown-eyed girl in an annoyed tone.
“Okay, continue,” said Fratzo, still holding back his irritation.
“Lord Utzkah, one of the most famous wizards, once cursed the emperor and all the people of Zlatav before his death. If I am not mistaken, the content of the curse was you and all your people will die when the messenger of the Goddess Magia was born and raised in this country. The blood debt you owe us will be paid in full without a ttrace!” Drena continued telling her story, so the three young men there listened carefully.
“My question was; why was it said, ‘The blood debt you owe us will be paid in full without a trace!’ Was there something between the kingdom and the witches? Because if it was connected to how the previous emperors wanted to eliminate them, that was a big question mark.” Drena explained again to her friends.
The four children fell silent, so silence fell. What Drena said didn’t make sense for boys, but it was different for Drena, who thought about what she had read in the library.
Madame Oistorin, who was about to go out when she heard four of Odessa’s friends having a conversation, as soon as possible hid. The middle-aged woman listened to everything said, so her heart thundered. She could not come to the area because she was still listening to the conversation between Drena and her male friends.
How could she know the history that had been changed by Emperor Droitzon, the ancestor of Emperor Aufdzek? Such situation is very dangerous because everything will be chaotic if the actual situation spreads! Thought the Healer, frightened.
