Chapter 98. Do You Know Something?

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

At lunchtime, in the dining room,
“Alexa, I heard that something extraordinary in your class.” A girl with long, black hair asked shamelessly. The owner of the name, who was feeding potatoes into her mouth, was silent for a few moments, then turned to the questioner.
The atmosphere in the dining room was busy, so no one paid attention to Alexa at all. Meanwhile, Goddess Magia’s two magical dogs continue to accompany her. They looked at everyone who passed by and often turned to the first daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira as if to reassure themselves that the girl was fine.
“Line, let Alexa eat first. Do not ask her now.” Aileen reprimanded her twin sister so that Adaline would not do something like that to poor Alexa. Meanwhile, the two young teenage boys, who were supposed to be at the same table as the three young girls, were queuing at the front, so they could not hear what Aileen, Adaline, and Alexa, the messenger of Goddess Magia, were talking about.
“Yeah, but I can’t hide my curiosity, so it is better to ask Alexa directly.” Adaline did not want to be blamed because that was how she felt. The chestnut brown-haired girl only listened to the conversation between the two twin girls and did not comment at the moment.
“Who did you hear about that incident from, Line?” The young girl who had a mole on her nose asked without hesitation. Alexa decided to continue the activities that had been postponed while listening to the conversation between her two female friends.
“I got the news from Thalemona. The gossipmonger immediately came to Taretva and chatted loudly. Do not blame me if I could hear their stupid drama, including the endless conversation.” A young girl, who had a height of one hundred and sixty-four centimetres, answered with an annoyed expression, especially since she still remembered Thalemona’s attitude, which was very annoying and caused unnecessary excitement.
Aileen’s face turned sour as soon as possible when she heard a name mentioned by her twin sister. “Taretva. Humans are crazy and like to lick. Anything he says is definitely a lie. Luckily, that disgusting girl is not our friend.”
“That’s why I didn’t just believe what they said and chose to confirm it directly with Alexa.” Adaline looked at the hazel-eyed girl. Aileen’s twin sister saw that Sir Elmer Louis Writh and Madame Phoenix’s granddaughter Lily Katira were eating her food and not interested in conversing with them.
Aileen also diverted her attention to the girl sitting to her left because she followed what Adaline was doing. “Well. It is better for you to postpone your questions, Line. We can have lunch now so Alexa can later tell you about what happened while she was in class.”
“I agree.” Adaline could not do anything else because that was all she could do now.
The two twin girls ended the conversation and started eating the dishes they had taken. Without Aileen and Adaline realizing it, Alexa was reminded of the terrible moment she had witnessed in class, which surprised her and made her afraid.
It turned out that rumours about Tagathea being injured had spread quickly. I was confused about why she was injured, even though no animals were around, so that it could not bite one of her legs. The reasons he put forward sounded ridiculous, but in reality, Tagathea was in pain, even crying. I have never seen her in that condition, thought Alexa, who was trying to analyze what had happened.
Alexa tried to think of all the possibilities, but what the girl had done was in vain because she had not yet received a clue or other information that could support the cause of why one of her classmates could experience this strange event.
Hopefully, Tagathea can be cured by Madame Ethnia and Madame Menka. If I am not mistaken, Aileen also experienced the same thing yesterday. Now, she has completely recovered and can walk normally. Could there be a mysterious disease outbreak at this orphanage? Ah, it is impossible. I did not see or hear about it from anyone else, so all the children must be healthy. Alexa tried to convince herself that what she had thought was not something to be afraid of at all. The intelligent girl finished all the food without intending to start a conversation with her two female friends.
Two other women had just entered the dining room when the three young girls were still busy with their respective activities. Their faces looked severe, but they had not said anything because one was looking for an empty table.
“It is already hectic here, Thalemona. There are still lots of people inside, so it is hard to get a seat.” A girl, who had a height of hundred and sixty-two centimetres tall, spoke to another girl standing to her left. They were busy looking around because they still could not find a seat for the two of them.
“Yeah, I see that. But, do you see there?” The curly-haired girl asked, pointing to the front. There were three young girls there who were having a conversation. When they saw the figure of a woman with chestnut brown hair, the two women who liked to gossip seemed to understand whose table Thalemona had appointed.
“I see that. Are you sure? There is the witch and her friends. They will definitely scold us not to mention the two guys who always accompanied their group. Do not look for trouble.” The blonde woman rejected the other person’s idea because she did not like Alexa, Aileen and Adaline.
“If we do not try, then we will never know the results. Besides, there are still two empty seats, which means you and I can sit there.” Thalemona never gave up because she saw the conditions around them. No one had left the dining room yet; they were already hungry.
“I am sure that the two men are queuing for food, so they have not come over there and sat with them.” Taretva still gave her advice and did not want to join Alexa’s group. The virgin prevented them from fighting in the dining room, even though both of them were hungry and needed a place to sit before joining the queue for food at the front.
“I do not care.” Without further ado, the thirteen-year-old girl entered after the queue in front of them had reduced, and it was time for Thalemona and Taretva to enter the dining room, which still looked busy.
“Hey! Wait for me!” Taretva was forced to scream because she saw her friend as soon as possible disappear among the many people there. That young girl was forced to walk to the front, to the table of Alexa and her friends, even though she was very reluctant to approach them because she didn’t want to meet Aileen and Adaline, her rivals.
“Thalemona is very annoying! I do not want to let us fight with those two crazy girls because then there will be a scene,” grumbled Taretva, who was trying hard to catch up with her friend who had walked far ahead and left her alone.
