Chapter 79. The Message

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

In the medical room at the Ztatzav Orphanage,
A blonde girl was stunned because she did not expect her senior to ask her that question. Meanwhile, the Healer waited for an answer from Menka because she had received instructions and a warning about the attitude of the person she was talking to through a dream.
“Why do you keep silent? Is it true that someone came here and was looking for me? If that was true, why were you keeping quiet? That person must have conveyed a very important message, and I must listen to it as soon as possible.” Madame Ethnia was annoyed by Menka’s silence, so she asked again and raised her voice. The girl became frightened, so her guts shrank.
“Um… just a moment, Madame. I will try to remember first.” Menka asked Ethnia for a little time, which made the other person look at her sharply. However, the senior Healer neither agreed nor rejected her request.
The thirty-six-year-old woman began to remember, and she remembered again about a young woman with chestnut brown hair who had come there, and indeed, she had left a message for Madame Ethnia. Menka dared to answer questions from the person in charge of the medical room at the orphanage. “There was a teenage girl who came, Madame. She was Alexa. She told me that you did not have to worry because she was safe.”
The curvy-bodied woman tried to understand the message, but Madame Ethnia did not understand it completely because the sentence was ambiguous. Meanwhile, Menka has not conveyed any other instructions because he only stated the main instructions. “What did you mean? Did Alexa say the background of the message?” asked the Senior Healer, full of curiosity.
“If I am not mistaken, the Chosen One told me that she had a dream and instead got various clues, one of which was for you,” answered the beautiful blue-eyed woman. Madame Ethnia still did not understand because the information confused her, but she did not ask her assistant further.
“That was all? Didn’t Alexa say anything else?” Madame Ethnia asked after asking for a long time. A woman, who had a height of one hundred and sixty-four centimetres tall shook her head because that was exactly what happened.
“No, Madame. The Chosen One did not say anything else and left as soon as possible.” Menka answered her senior, which made Ethnia think again about something important that she might have missed. The grey-eyed woman tried to remember the dream she had just had and what it had to do with the message brought by the messenger of Goddess Magia.
Why did Alexa even have dreams like that? I am sure that she might be getting something else, but she did not want to tell my assistant about it. Her dream was quite interesting. Does that have anything to do with what Goddess Erie said? Yes, it could be like that. What was the meaning behind ‘She was safe’? Did that mean the emperor’s envoys would not visit the orphanage? Madame Ethnia thought hard because she was unsure about all the information she had received. Menka only observed his senior’s behaviour and did not dare to ask for her permission to continue her current activity, which had been postponed.
The atmosphere in the medical room became silent because the conversation between the two Healers had stopped. The woman who had worked as a Healer for seventeen years could only think deeper because she had not received any other clues at a time like that. After several minutes of silence, Madame Ethnia turned her attention to Menka, who did not dare to go anywhere, as if the girl was waiting for instructions from the interlocutor.
“Thank you, Menka. Next time, if anyone, whoever he is, has come here and they were looking for me and delivered a message, you must remember one thing: do not forget to tell me immediately.” A woman, who had a height of one hundred and sixty-seven centimetres tall, said this to her assistant, which made the name owner feel relieved and, at the same time, ashamed of herself because Madame Ethnia had reprimanded her.
“Yes, Madame. I am sorry.” The woman who looked youthful apologized because she was guilty of not conveying the message from the Chosen One as quickly as possible. Menka was grateful because her senior did not shout or say harsh words to her, so she did not feel hurt towards the person she was talking to.
“I forgive you, but do not do it again.” The thirty-seven-year-old woman did not want to prolong the same thing, so she chose to forgive the other person’s mistake. Ethnia turned around and then walked to a place where there was another room. Menka watched her senior’s back until the woman went inside and closed the door.
“Luckily, Madame Ethnia is not very angry with me. If she had been angry and complained to Madame Magthianth Ormenthaz, my career would have been over. If that had been the case, then I would not have had any job and would have been thrown out of this orphanage,” muttered Menka, who was already scared.
“It is better if I just continue sweeping rather than thinking about strange things. Hopefully, I will keep working here, even though I have to be patient with Madame Ethnia’s nagging. From the gossip I have heard, she was the only one who was a patient, Senior Healer. Maybe other people, it is not like that anymore.” The maiden spoke softly as if reminding herself that Madame Ethnia was the best senior for her.
Menka walked in that direction, which was the last place he swept, but she had to be delayed for a long time because she had to have a conversation with Madame Ethnia. After getting there, the girl immediately went back to sweeping so the area was clean.
Meanwhile, in a special room for Healers in the medical room
Ethnia was seen sitting in a chair. The woman seemed to be thinking about something because she seemed to frown. “Is it possible that the message that Alexa said was related to the arrival of the emperor’s messengers? I had a vision about their terrible condition, and Goddess Magia has certainly done it all. The Queen of Witches will never forget her devotees, including people specially selected to carry out important tasks.”
“Should I tell Madame Aufrodine about this, or should I ask Goddess Erie first? I feel that the instructions Alexa got in her dream are good news because the immortal god or goddess has their own way of conveying something important.”
A woman who had lived in the orphanage for a long time was silent for a moment, then began to take a roll of parchment that was placed not far away. When she took the object, Ethnia opened it, and the parchment was still empty. That girl shifted her focus again, then opened the cap of a small bottle containing a black liquid, and did not forget to take a quill pen and dip the tip into the bottle.
“Dear Madame Magthianth Ormenthaz, this is Atmasa Meightarta. I am writing this letter, because I want to say something important to you.” Ethnia slowly spoke while writing on the blank parchment.
“As you know, the Ztatzav Orphanage has housed Thosen One since he was a baby. I had a vision that a giant black figure was attacking the emperor’s soldiers. I did not see clearly what kind of creature that was, but one thing for sure: it must be coming from Goddess Magia. I believe the Goddess of Witchcraft was doing anything to protect her beloved girl.”
Ethnia stopped writing and then read what was written on the parchment. The woman read carefully as if she did not want to miss anything at all. When she was sure there was no wrong writing, the Healer dipped the quill’s tip again into the ink bottle.
“To be honest, the news about their arrival has really panicked me, Madame Aufrodine and Madame Loiston. We could not do anything. We only hope that a miracle will happen so that this orphanage will be safe, especially for the caretakers. I almost forgot to report that Alexa is in good health, and she was subjected to brutal bullying which left her injured, so Madame Aufrodine took firm action against the five children who carried out such actions.”
The silver-haired woman stopped writing because she suddenly felt thirsty. Ethnia started looking for a glass around the table area but did not find it there. The Healer exhaled heavily as if faced with two difficult choices. “If I stop writing letters, I will forget what I wanted to write, but I am thirsty and need to drink water as soon as possible.”
After a few seconds of silence, the woman who chose not to marry was forced to make a choice. “I have no choice at this moment. I must return to writing so that the letter to Madame Magthianth can be sent immediately. She must have been waiting for my weekly report.”
