Chapter 69. A Weird Afternoon

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

A few hours later, in the library,
“What do you want to tell me, Aiden?” A slender girl asked in a low voice. She did not hide her astonishment, as the person sitting to her right was silent. The situation inside the place was indeed very quiet, as there were only two teenagers. Alexa frowned because the young man was silent, so she became bored.
“If you are just going to shut up and waste time, then I am going back to my room! I have to do my homework.” Just as the young lady was about to get up from the chair, her right hand was grabbed, which made Alexa have to abort. That chestnut brown-haired girl gave Aiden an annoyed look, but she still waited for what he had to say.
“Alexa, are you going to call me crazy?”
That strange question left the owner of the name confused. The smart girl was even more clueless about what that teenage boy was asking. “What do you mean? You can try not to use difficult language so that I can understand.”
A silver-haired man began to turn his head towards the opposite sex, whereas before, he was staring at the empty seat in front of him. “If I tell you what I experienced last night, will you think I am crazy or something like that?”
“No. Go ahead.” Alexa answered firmly so that the handsome young guy would no longer be reluctant to talk to her.
“Last night, I saw a man in my dream. He was calling my name.” Aiden began his story. Alexa listened carefully to the young man’s story. A young lady of noble descent did not want to interrupt the other’s words, as if she understood the young guy’s predicament.
“When I saw him, I was very surprised because his face was very similar to mine. That man told me not to be afraid because he had no evil intentions.” A teenage boy, who was the same age as the Chosen One, still felt a deep dread, so Alexa could clearly see that in the opposite sex’s expression.
“He told me that his name was Gretzh. I could not hear clearly for his last name.” Aiden stopped saying as he shook his head briefly, while Alexa was still very curious, wanting to hear the rest of the interlocutor’s story. However, the first daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira, was still waiting despite her impatience with her best friend Samuel’s behaviour.
“He told me, ‘Why were you here? You are a witch, and you must come back to our place. Do not forget to bring the Chosen One with you. We need her’. Well, I never expected him to say that.” The opposite sex, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-five centimetres tall turned his head in the other direction, then glanced around. Aiden seemed to be afraid that someone else might overhear their conversation. Alexa spontaneously did the same, not wanting to risk being punished by the principal.
After assuring himself that the situation was safe, the young guy looked back at the opposite sex. “I asked the man whose face looked exactly like mine, ‘I am a mortal. Why did you say I was a witch? Who was the Chosen One? Please tell me!’ He just disappeared.”
“What a weird dream. After that, did you find anything else or was what you just told me everything?” Alex could not resist asking, which made the other person shake his head.
“No, I did not finish the story. I will continue it.” Aiden firmly answered because he was going to do what he said. The hazel-eyed young lady did not ask the opposite sex any other questions and still did not realize that her right hand was still held by the man with a small pentacle-shaped birthmark in the centre of his back.
“I saw a very bright red light and it came from this orphanage. It was shocking me because it turned out to be a big fire coming from the girls’ dormitory. I remembered you and tried to look for you as soon as possible, but I could not.” The handsome guy still vividly remembered the strange dream, as if it had just happened.
“I woke up because Sam did it.” Alexa could see Aiden’s look of seriousness and fear. However, the fair-skinned girl still seemed to be holding back from interrupting the young man’s explanation at all.
“Sam asked, ‘Why did you scream? You also mentioned Alexa, what did you see in your dream?’ I replied, ‘I saw the girls’ dormitory on fire, and I could not find her.’ He told me that the orphanage was fine and there was no fire. After that, he continued to sleep, but I still awoke. After a while, I looked up at the ceiling and saw something strange there.”
The last sentence spoken by Aiden made the virgin remember what she experienced and how similar it was. “I saw a woman’s figure. If I am not mistaken, that figure was similar to the strange woman I told you about.”
The granddaughter of Sir Elmer Louis Writh and Madame Phoenix’ Lily Katira tried to reflect. She turned her face in the other direction to not see the young guy’s look. The conversation between them had stopped, so both felt the silence that dominated there.
Aiden’s dream was strange, but why was he being told to bring the Chosen One and asked to return to ‘our place’? What kind of place was that? Did the witches have some kind of hiding place, but it was unknown to ordinary people? It could be like that. I wish I could have more information, thought Alexa, who still could not find a solution.
“Alexa.” That young lady turned her head, having heard someone calling her name. It was Aiden who had done so. The teenage boy who liked to read seemed to observe her with a serious expression.
“Yes? What happened?” The girl who liked to be the object of bullying at the orphanage asked her male friend.
“Come to think of it, my dream last night was related to the future. On the other hand, what happened to you had to do with the present, especially the encounter with the group of people in black robes.” Aiden concluded the strange dreams that had happened to them.
“I guess so. I still feel strange about the words of the man whose face looks so much like yours. It leaves a question in my heart.” The smart lady agreed with her interlocutor and voiced her opinion, leaving Aiden speechless for a while.
“As for the Chosen One, I was sure it was you, but as for ‘Our place’, I did not know about that.” A young guy who liked to get important information from various people had yet to find an answer about where the witches lived. Alexa’s face turned gloomy, and somehow, this made Aiden sad.
“I wish we knew it.” Alexa unconsciously said so, which made the opposite sex frown.
“So what if you knew where they lived? Are you planning something?” The tall young man wanted to extract information from the interlocutor, who was physically very different from all the children in the orphanage.
“No, I did not have any plan. I was just curious.” Alexa said honestly, but Aiden was still watching her with a gaze that was difficult for her to interpret. The atmosphere became a little awkward, as Samuel’s roommate had yet to respond, which made the sharp-nosed woman wonder about him.
“What was wrong?” A beautiful lady who had always longed for her biological parents opened the conversation again, but the young man just shook his head. Aiden’s strange actions made Alexa suspicious, but she did not openly express it to him.
“If you do not have anything else to discuss at this moment, I want to return to my room now,” Alexa remembered the homework that had not been done, and she wanted to do it so she would not forget.
“Okay. I am going back to my room, too.” Aiden felt that he had had enough of their conversation, so he quickly rose to his feet and let go of the girl’s right hand. Alexa realized that the opposite sex had always held her hand. However, the young lady did not want to ask about it, as she wanted to leave the library area as soon as possible.
When the two teenagers had walked out of the area they had been in, suddenly, from twenty meters away, three people looked about the same age as them. Aiden saw this, but he acted casual. Alexa, who had been looking at the other side of the shelf, now realized that Sam, Aileen, and Adaline were there.
The two twin girls were staring at the first daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira and Aiden, with a look that was hard to interpret, especially the girl with the long, black hair. Meanwhile, the chubby young boy relaxed as if what Alexa and her roommate were doing was normal.
When the five teenagers passed each other, Adaline, who was already annoyed, took the initiative to ask the Chosen One first, “Why did you go here without telling us? Me, Sam, and Aileen were looking for you, but we did not find you.”
“We came here to read a book,” Aiden answered Adaline’s question, raising suspicion in the minds of the girl and her twin sister. Alexa meanwhile had her mouth open and was ready to answer, but the opposite sex spoke up instead.
“Did you find the book, Alexa? I asked her and not you, Aiden.” Adaline asked another question, but she had already given a disclaimer first.
“I-”
