Olive was elated as she saw Wayne, her mate running after her. She ran into the road and ran in a zig zag way while he followed her pattern. He was a very fast wolf, and was already reaching her. So, she took a turn and ran in the opposite direction which they had just come from. He took after her and increased his pace.
It was like he was diving through the wind and not actually running on legs. In less than a minute, he had caught up with Olive and she wheezed and fell down playfully. He towered over her and tickled her abdomen, sniffing her fur as he did so.
She pushed him away and ran into the rocky area. Jumping on the rocks only. He stood still, not following her but just watching her movements. Olive knew he was worried she would fall again and she shook her head at the kind of mate she had.
She stood still on a rock and looked at him. Then began to wave her tail at him, inviting him to her. He ran on the ground, dodging the rocks and jumping over plants and bushes. She literally rolled her eyes. He didn’t want them running over the rocks. She jumped down as he passed her and followed him up, running after him and growling.
She caught up with him and jumped on him. He fell and rolled over on the grass before running after her. He was having fun, the kind he hadn’t had in years. He was definitely going racing with his wolf again, with Olive’s.
They came to a stop after almost an hour of their play and circled each other. They cuddled in a heap behind that large rock that she had fallen down from.
“It’s almost sunset,” he said to her. Her own wolf couldn’t talk, and they hadn’t established their mind link yet so she didn’t reply. Instead, she purred and nuzzled her snout into his soft neck. He was so furry.
“I guess you’d like to watch it with me before we head home,” he said and used his right paw to smoothen her back. She licked his face and he made a deep chuckle-like growl.
They both stood up and walked gently towards the highest point. They didn’t want to climb the mountains as that would be another hell of a job to do. As they reached a perfect viewing spot, Wayne sat over his hind legs with his forelegs standing tall.
Olive however curled down at his paws and watched the sun set. Their bodies were rubbing against each other. And the cool evening breeze wafted around them. When the sun set completely, Wayne smoothed Olive’s fur with his snout and they nuzzled into each other lovingly for some time. Then as if they had communicated, they both began to descend. They didn’t run this time, but took gentle walks down.
By the time they had reached the car, it was already dark. Wayne shifted first and was surprisingly in his sweatshirt and pants. Olive’s eyes widened. Sure, she had seen him in that same outfit after he shifted earlier but she just didn’t think it through. But right now, he had shifted back and in his clothes? Everyone knew werewolves would become naked after shifting.
“Come on. Let’s head home,” he gestured to the car with his head. Olive however stood still. How was she going to shift when she would be naked? She didn’t value her nakedness before. Most werewolves didn’t see it as something too special as they always become naked after shifting. Also, wolves often ran in numbers. After they all shift back, they show their nakedness. And she, Olive, had been involved in a lot of group races and pack runs. But here she was, afraid of shifting naked in front of her own mate.
Wayne heaved a short breath as he gave her a knowing look. He opened the back door of the car and brought out a neatly folded black skirt, a honey colored jacket and a black body fitted vest.
“I didn’t want to bring my mate back to the castle looking like Eve,” he said as he saw the look of surprise on her face.
She made a squeal-like sound and took the folded clothes from him with her mouth, caging them in her fangs and being careful not to touch them with her tongue to avoid wetting them with saliva.
She ran to the back of a rock and shifted. She was in a crouched position but she managed to wear the clothes anyway. She stepped out barefoot and somehow, Wayne loved the look of her bare feet walking on the ground. He opened the door for her and she stepped in. He entered too and before he could start the car, Olive spoke up.
“Thanks for today, Wayne. I feel so alive,” she said with so much energy and joy. Wayne smirked and started the car. He drove home as fast as they had arrived. There was nothing much to see by the roadside. It was just trees. Olive wondered where the real city of Aspen was located and what it looked like. Wayne had only been taking her to the suburbs.
They reached the castle and Olive stepped out of the car. She loved the feel of the cold, smooth floor under her feet. Wayne locked the car and handed the keys to a man who had quickly arrived. He gestured for her to come to his side. She strolled to him and he wrapped his arms around her waist. In a split second, she was thrown.
She shrieked in delight and grabbed his broad shoulders and strong neck. She rested her head on his shoulder too, and her legs dangled down against his own legs. He began to walk inside like that, carrying her like a sleeping baby across his shoulder. His arms surrounded her middle back and underneath her buttocks to support her weight against him. Despite the stares, he kept walking with her that way until they came closer to his elevator.”
“This news is going to hit your pack’s platforms today,” Olive stated as she held his shoulders more for support.
“What news?” Wayne asked.
“Alpha Wayne Knight Carrying A Strange Woman Into The Pack Castle.” Wayne laughed.
“Let them gossip all they can. I’ll hold my mate whichever way I want.” Then he smacked her on her butt cheek.
