Olive had undressed and worn sweatpants with a strap shirt. She let her damp hair fall all over her to dry naturally. She was walking around the large room and just looking at stuff when the door to the bedroom opened. Wayne must be back!
She turned around excited and almost growled out her displeasure. Because it was Dolly.
“Hey, girl!” Dolly said excitedly and began to walk straight to the dining table. She was carrying two white bags and Olive inhaled something delicious.
“Hi, Dolly,” she said and hurried to the table too.
“What is it?” she asked as Dolly began to bring out small plastic containers.
“Noodles!” she exclaimed and Olive almost laughed. Just noodles?
“Hey, these are straight from Korea. Cup Ramen. I got loads of them for you because you might need instant food. Just microwave and eat. Or add boiling water. Check this out,” Dolly lifted a small one that reminded Olive of ice cream and opened it. Steam wafted out and a delicious smell reached Olive’s nose.
“Wow, smells so good,” she complimented and walked to stand beside her. Dolly picked chopsticks and drew up a lot of the noodles into her mouth.
“Ah! Heaven!” she fantasized and gestured for Olive to do the same with the cups on the table. Olive picked one. Thankfully, she was used to eating Chinese so she wasn’t new to chopsticks.
They both sat down and ate a delicious meal. Olive loved it.
“You know Koreans eat this a lot in their dramas. I fell for it after washing my first drama. Haha,” Dolly giggled.
“I have never watched a Korean drama,” Olive innocently shrugged but Dolly’s eyes bulged.
“What?! Not once?”
“Never. I do hear my friends fantasizing about it though. But I just…never had the time.”
“What were you doing then? That reminds me, where did you come from? You obviously are not from Balendin.”
Olive’s breath got hitched in her throat. Did Dolly not know about how she met her brother?
“Weren’t you told? I thought the guys told you how they found me?”
“Well, no. Those boys. They refused to even talk to me once despite all my questions. You see, I had overhead about you from the servants. The rumours are everywhere.”
Olive nodded. So no one knew where she came from apart from the Alpha and his men. Did Wayne by any chance tell them to not say anything about it?
“None of his men even like me. Except maybe for Jericho who started being nice earlier,” she said absentmindedly as she stared at her empty noodle cup. Dolly peered at her.
“What do you mean they don’t like you? They all wanted Wayne to find his mate. Or, did something happen?”
Dolly’s questioning eyes gazed into Olive’s ones. She didn’t know how to answer that.
“I…well…” the door opened and they both looked. Wayne walked in and Olive sighed in relief. She smiled at him and he stopped walking as he saw her sitting there. Dolly glanced at Olive’s face and then at Wayne, then back at Olive. They weren’t breaking eye contact. Dolly rolled her eyes.
“All right. I get it. I’m unwanted right now. Bye Olive,” she kissed her on her cheek.
“Good night, Dolly. Thanks for dinner,” Olive appreciated and Dolly zoomed off in werewolf speed.
“Dinner?” Wayne asked as he looked at the table.
“Yes. Dolly ordered Korean food,” she answered and began to stack the empty cups.
“I wanted us to have dinner together, Olive.”
“Oh…,” Olive drawled and bit her lips.
“I guess I’ll tell the kitchen to hold the food then,” he said and began to walk towards the bed while removing his jacket.
“Then what would you eat?”
“I’m not hungry anymore.”
He sat on the bed and dropped the jacket beside him.
“Yes, you are. Let’s have dinner together.”
Wayne suppressed his victorious smile.
Earlier, the lunch-their first meal together, didn’t end well. Alpha Knight wanted this dinner to end on a good note.
“The food would be here in a minute,” he announced as he pulled out his shoes. Olive arranged the rest of the untouched noodle cups into the bags and wondered where she could keep them.
“There’s a kitchen beside the receiving hall,” Wayne said as if he had read her mind.
“OH. Thanks,” she mumbled and left with the bags. When she got to the receiving hall, she glanced all about and found out there were more doors in the walls than she had noticed. She walked across the smooth floor to one of the doors. She opened it and found out it was the gym. She kept opening the doors until she saw a medium sized kitchen. She walked in and went to the counter where she dropped the bags.
She looked around the very clean kitchen and wondered why it was somewhat empty. Obviously, his meals were not prepared there. She checked the fridge and was delighted that it wasn’t empty. There were fruits, drinks and some groceries in it. She opened the cabinets and found more groceries.
Her eyes sparkled as she saw coffee satchets. She loved coffee. She preferred it over any alcohol at all. She grabbed one and drew water from the tap. She mixed the coffee in a mug and microwaved it. She then placed the noodles in the less cold part of the fridge and left with her steaming cup of delicious smelling coffee.
When she returned to the bedroom, Alpha Knight was in a black bathrobe, toweling his hair. The table was already set.
“Why do you have a kitchen that is not in use?” she asked.
“Do you expect me to go there and cook?” he asked in return as he walked towards the set table.
“No, I expect you to get a personal chef or something.”
“And risk someone being in my quarters almost all the time? No.”
He sat at the table and she sat opposite him. He frowned at her.
“What-what is it?” she asked.
“Don’t seat at the other end of the table as if you and I are enemies dining together,” he said with a casual voice. He began to slice his chicken into smaller chops.
“Come here,” he added as he was still fixated on slicing with the knife and fork. She bit her lips and stood. She gently walked to his side and sat down directly adjacent him. He glanced at her over the top of his eyes and continued what he was doing.
Olive took a plate and placed a chicken thigh on it. She loved how delicious everything smelt. She couldn’t remember when last she had a lavish meal with side dishes ever since she left her parents that day.
She was going to start slicing when he took her plate from her and placed the sliced ones there.
“You shouldn’t eat much since you’ve already eaten,” he said and gently poured tomato sauce over the sliced chicken.
“It’s tasty this way,” he said and she nodded and poked a fork in. He relaxed back and watched her eat gently. She fascinated him.
“Hmmmm…,” she moaned with eyes closed as she munched happily.
“This is so good. I wish to know the recipe,” she said and looked at the sauce again. Wayne smirked and poured more sauce for her.
“Thanks, Wayne,” she smiled, then rubbed chicken in it and ate.
He resumed slicing her own chicken and kept putting them on her plate. She was eating it all. Occasionally, he would put other side dishes in with her and she ate without question. All of a sudden, she stopped.
“Why aren’t you eating?” she asked. He shrugged.
“I’m full. Just watching you,” he mused and poured out a glass of pineapple juice for her.
“Drink up,” he said. She gulped half the content then filled it herself. She picked up two slices on the fork and brought it to his mouth.
“Open up.” He scoffed and looked away, ignoring her.
“Wayne,” she called.
“I’m not a kid,” he said curtly and gulped down a glass of water.
“So you slicing chicken for me and placing food bits on my plate shows I’m a six year old, right?” she asked with a deep frown.
He looked sideways at her.
“Fine, I guess I was being a kid by receiving them all,” she pouted and was about to drop her hand when she saw him open his mouth while gazing into her eyes.
He supported his head with his palm and his elbow resting on the table in front of him. Olive suppressed a smile as she brought the fork to his mouth and he took the meat. He chewed slowly while looking at her. She fed him some more and added slices of boiled potatoes to the fork. The meal was tasty, but he knew it was tastier because of the hand feeding him.
“Water,” he demanded and she quickly poured out a glass of cold water for him. She waited for him to pick it up and drink it first.
“You don’t expect me to drink it, do you?” he asked and she furrowed her brows.
“What do you mean?”
“Feed me. Isn’t that what you’ve been doing?”
Shivers ran down her spine. She was feeding a hot god and the way he was staring at her throughout, she felt her skin melting under his gaze. Gently and carefully, she picked the glass and took it to his lips. She had to sit up and lean over in order to make him drink comfortably. When she dropped the glass, she felt her hands shaking slightly. Her body was reacting too much. This dinner wasn’t what she expected. Maybe she shouldn’t have offered to feed him. She glanced around the table and saw her now cold cup of coffee.
“Oh no, it’s cold already,” she winced as she took hold of the cup.
“Let me see that,” Wayne said and stretched out his hand to collect it. She gave him and he looked at the cup and shrugged. He dropped it in front of her.
“Drink it,” he said. She pouted.
“I don’t like cold coffee,” she said and wanted to shift the cup aside but froze. Her eyes widened and she slowly turned her head to look at Wayne. He was still sitting in the same position, his head leaning on his palm and he was looking at her from a sideways view.
“It’s-it’s hot,” she stuttered as she wrapped her fingers around the white mug.
“Alpha Knight…you… control temperature,” she muttered in realization. He smirked at her and her heart thudded loudly.
