“Pardon me, young mistress. Lord Harchier forbids you to approach the other young masters and young mistresses.”
That rule had been settled since I was coerced to return to the Cantavalle estate. It was because of Demetrius telling Papa who were my allies here in this household. He was cautious not to allow them to communicate with them.
“Fine…” I glanced at Ingram with longing, wanting to speak with him. But two of my henchmen, Eric and Jude, were preventing me.
With no other choice, my feet brought me to settle in the pavilion, having them following me. Each day that I would stay here made me wary ever since Demetrius announced what they were about to do.
Usurping the throne? Slaughtering the real sister of Henry?
This bestowed bitterness at the tip of my tongue, seeing that Demetrius had the advantage of knowing who she was because she knew what happened in the future in his timeline.
I must do something that could turn the tables just before we were going to spark a revolution against the royal lycan family. I did not want to create a more harsh history because of our family name.
I just wanted to be out and end this in one go. I was hoping to get in touch with Henry to warn him.
There were so many things I needed to do, but I did not know where to start. I was still thinking about Valerian and how he was doing. I was really hoping that he was not dead, or else, I was going to end my life for good.
“Mother!”
I gripped my sword’s hilt just by hearing Demetrius’ voice. It sounded so sweet and angelic, but behind his facade, he was worse than I thought. I should blame the other Dominixe that Demetrius for abusing her son.
And I must do something to have Demetrius on my side if it was to believe that he was on par with us. That was petrifying to know.
“Mother, I got you some hyacinth flowers!” Demetrius ran in my direction with a big smile plastering on his lips before he knelt before me, offering those beautiful flowers blessed by the sunlight.
“I am not interested in them…” There was this itching feeling that Demetrius might be behind what happened to Valerian. He was for certain knowing that he was the only one who could know about our whereabouts when everything had been kept secret.
“But I picked them for you…” he said in a dejected tone, his eyes going down as if doing that would make me want to change my mind.
My upper lip lifted before pursing my lips into a thin line. I stood up, distancing myself.
I couldn’t fathom being close to him again after what he did to me. I was his mother, yet he had done those things behind me. I understood that he had hatred for his real mother, but that was not me.
“Return to Papa since he is favoring you more than us. And I hate being surpassed by someone else.” It felt like having this voice as cold as ice had been a while.
Demetrius had his mouth opened a little before he secretly gnashed his teeth. In front of me, he had that bouquet of hyacinth flowers plummeted down to the ground before stepping on it, brushing his soles against the cemented ground.
“I picked that for you!” He clenched his hands, contorting his face with so much pain.
“Drop that act. You wouldn’t be able to fool me anymore.” I faced and walked towards him before lowering my head to match our faces. “No wonder your mother abandons you because you are being like-”
I was quick to somersault to distance myself when his dagger almost scraped me. I was initially in disbelief, hearing my heart pounding so fast, as if many horses were galloping inside my ribcage.
The tightening of my skin and the lungs being compressed by a machine were why I anticipated he would act like that.
I could read him. I could tell.
“You always dismissed-” I did not let him finish his words when I caught him off guard by grabbing his neck. Demetrius gasped when I dragged him closer to me. Fear was evident in his eyes, seeing how they quivered.
“I shall tell you that you are not my son in this timeline, so do not even accuse me of neglecting you. But there is one thing you should know if I ever bear you in this timeline, I wouldn’t hesitate to kill you because of what you did to me. So, why don’t you return where you belong so I wouldn’t dare to do that?”
By any means, I must do anything to hurt him so I could see his weakness more. I would like to know more about this child abandoned and neglected by his mother. There was something that I wanted to learn.
“M-Mother, do not be like that to me…” His lips were trembling. His chartreuse orbs were shuddering in fear.
“Do not be like that to you?” I smiled bitterly. “I have offered my utmost kindness since you treated me the same. But what are you doing? I felt betrayed. So, do not expect that I would still like you even if I get to conceive with you in this timeline.”
Lies.
Full of lies.
It was a plan to hurt him emotionally since that was what he was afraid of, being verbally abused by his mother.
I had already deciphered it since the way his body was wobbly under my gaze was enough for me to think he was useless if I was acting superior to him.
But my words were also hurting me. I was only doing this to make him change his mind if it would work this way.
“M-Mother…” Demetrius was on the verge of tears.
I was not certain if I was going to believe that before I pushed him away from me. “Let’s go, Jude, Eric. I did not want to stay in the same place with that child over there.”
I stormed out of the pavilion with a heavy heart as a chain to my whole being. It was complex that I would have to act this way.
It would be a disaster if I did nothing to stop everything just before the plans were implemented.
But there was one thing that I had accomplished at this moment.
I fished out what was kept in my hand. I held my breath when I finally saw the crucial item that would help me save everyone.
My galaxy moon necklace…
“Stop her! Stop her!”
I gasped when Demetrius was sprinting in my direction. It was also the moment when I decided to sprint away from his direction.
“Young Mistress Dominixe!”
I heard my two henchmen calling my name, but I ignored them before bringing the necklace to attach it to my neck.
“STOP HER! DO NOT LET HER WEAR THAT NECKLACE!”
Demetrius’ thunderous voice echoed throughout the estate. All my siblings in the training ground turned their heads as they saw that Demetrius was using his wolf speed to catch up with me with desperation smothering his handsome face.
However, it was too late for him when I wore it and felt my body collapse to the ground before my vision was obscured with pitch-black darkness.
