“Famous palace dishes from various cuisines!”
“Chateau Godeau red wine! Macallan whiskey! And century-old rare liquors!”
The diners were astonished. These were extremely rare and valuable dishes and wines. Having a meal and a drink today would be enough to boast about for months.
At Quentin’s table, Emma and Emery were eating with great relish.
“Janessa and Theo, eat more. This table costs over a hundred thousand dollars; we can’t waste it.”
“Charlotte, you eat more too.”
Emma kept piling food onto Janessa, Theo, and Charlotte’s plates until they were heaped like small mountains, as if afraid they might starve.
“Mom, that’s enough. The kids and I can manage. You eat slowly.”
Seeing Emma like this, Charlotte felt a bit embarrassed and turned to feed Janessa, carefully taking care of the two children.
Even with such delicacies, the Pittman and Parry families found the food tasteless and hard to swallow.
Russell and Dexter couldn’t bear to stay any longer and left the top-floor restaurant one after another, followed by their family members.
Russell regretted his earlier actions. He shouldn’t have made things difficult for Quentin. If he had known, he would have tried to please them, and the Pittman family would have already been thriving.
But there were no ifs. Quentin was being merciful by not using this opportunity to destroy them.
“Good riddance. They were an eyesore,” Emma complained.
Some representatives from second- and third-tier companies that cooperated with the Pittman and Parry families remained.
They all approached Quentin’s table to toast, hoping to seek forgiveness and curry favor with Quentin and his family.
Although Quentin and his family didn’t want to deal with these fair-weather friends, they didn’t want to appear petty either, so they accepted the toasts graciously.
After all, Charlotte had taken over Time Group, and attracting these people away from the Pittman and Parry families for investment and cooperation would benefit the company’s development.
Zaid and others also came to toast Quentin’s family. Quentin introduced both sides to each other, and they chatted happily.
After eating and drinking their fill, everyone was satisfied. Some got drunk, while others, busy with work, politely said goodbye to Quentin before leaving.
Most guests had left. William instructed the staff to clean the restaurant, leaving only Zaid, Quentin, Charlotte, and their families.
They sat together in a circle.
As they chatted, Charlotte suddenly spoke up.
“Governor Johnston, I have a question for you.”
“What is your relationship with Quentin?”
Charlotte’s question brought silence to the room. The restaurant fell completely quiet.
Charlotte’s family was also curious. Despite the Holland family’s early bankruptcy, many top figures in Stresall and even Ofrustol still maintained close ties with Quentin.
Was it merely because of past connections with the Holland family?
Quentin and Ryan were momentarily taken aback. Charlotte had begun to suspect Quentin’s identity.
Fortunately, Eileen had foreseen this and prepared them in advance.
“Miss Pittman, Mr. Holland and I are partners.”
“Mr. Holland performed exceptionally well during his military service, especially in intelligence gathering.”
“Given his contributions to the southeast region, we granted him certain privileges.”
“Even after his return, Mr. Holland continued to provide valuable intelligence to the military, which is why we remain close.”
Ryan explained seriously, and those who knew Quentin’s true identity secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
“I see. Charlotte thanks Governor Johnston for always looking out for Quentin.”
“If he has done anything wrong, please forgive him.” Charlotte spoke politely but remained skeptical of Ryan’s explanation. The respect they showed Quentin seemed more than just friendship.
After all, he was the governor of the southeast region. But since he said so, she couldn’t press further.
“Miss Pittman, I certainly will.”
Ryan secretly sighed in relief. He had managed to bluff his way through.
Not to mention looking out for Quentin-Quentin was the Governor of the Eastern Region; it was more likely Quentin looked out for him.
As everyone was about to leave, they descended to the hotel entrance. Ryan and the others bid farewell to Quentin’s family, leaving only Riya behind.
“Charlotte, Quentin really went all out for your birthday party this time. As your sister, I’m happy for you.”
Riya smiled, genuinely envious of Charlotte for having such a caring husband like Quentin.
“Riya, you’re teasing me again. Quentin spent so much this time; I feel quite guilty.”
Quentin had spent at least a few million dollars on Charlotte’s birthday party. While she felt happy, she also felt a bit guilty.
“Silly sister, there’s no need for such distinctions between husband and wife. It just shows how much Quentin cares about you. You must cherish him.”
“It’s getting late; I should go pick up Aubree from Devon.”
Riya said as she prepared to leave.
“Riya, wait a moment. I have something to discuss with you,” Charlotte called out.
“Charlotte, what is it?” Riya asked curiously.
Charlotte replied seriously, “Riya, I want to invite you to join Time Group.”
