Chapter 475: Humiliated!

“Oh? The administrator of the governor’s palace of the southeast?”
“Benjamin, it seems you’ve become more impressive since we last met.”
Ryan’s sneer made Benjamin’s hair stand on end.
“No, Governor, you misunderstand. That person was disrespectful to our governor’s palace, I couldn’t just…”
Ryan interrupted Benjamin’s explanation, “No need to say more. Soon, you won’t be the administrator of the governor’s palace anymore.”
The crowd was in an uproar, and Benjamin was drenched in sweat. He was finished.
“Governor, why? Please don’t dismiss me. Tell me what I did wrong, and I promise it won’t happen again!”
Benjamin pleaded desperately.
“Blame yourself for being too arrogant and disrespectful.”
“This time, you used the name of our governor’s palace to show off and offended someone you shouldn’t have. I can’t help you. Get out.”
Ryan brushed past him and approached Quentin.
“Mr. Holland, long time no see. How have you been?” Ryan greeted.
The Pittman and Parry families were stunned. Quentin was also on good terms with the governor of the southeast? So everyone who came, except Benjamin, was here to attend Charlotte’s birthday party?
Benjamin was utterly despondent. He realized he had offended someone he shouldn’t have-Quentin.
Even Ryan was so respectful to that so-called “useless” person. Benjamin had been so confrontational earlier; now he was completely doomed.
“Didn’t you just say I should kneel and apologize to you?” Quentin sneered.
“Get over here and apologize to Mr. Holland!” Ryan shouted angrily.
Benjamin didn’t dare disobey. He couldn’t afford to offend Ryan, let alone someone whom even the governor of the southeast respected.
With heavy steps, Benjamin walked up to Quentin. Despite his anger and unwillingness, he knelt down and kowtowed three times to Quentin.
“Mr. Holland, please forgive my earlier rudeness. I was blind.”
Seeing Benjamin like this, Charlotte’s family was confused, and the Pittman and Parry families were even more incredulous.
Quentin remained calm, “Didn’t you also say I wouldn’t have a place in the southeast?”
Everyone shivered. Quentin was indeed very vengeful.
“Hah, Benjamin, from today on, I don’t want to see you in the southeast. Get out.”
Ryan roared.
Benjamin left the restaurant in despair, glaring at the two elders of the Pittman and Parry families as he passed by them.
“If it weren’t for you two old fools, I wouldn’t be in this mess!”
Benjamin was filled with resentment and regret. He regretted attending the Pittman and Parry families’ engagement party and standing up for them, which led to offending someone like Quentin.
Now he was no longer the administrator of the governor’s palace and couldn’t survive in the southeast. It was truly a disaster!
After Benjamin left, everyone sighed. The Pittman and Parry families were terrified that Quentin might settle accounts with them, but Quentin didn’t bother with them.
“Mr. Holland, it was my lack of discipline. Please don’t take it to heart.”
Ryan smiled.
“Mr. Governor, it’s fine. Since everyone is here, let’s start the banquet.”
Quentin said, and everyone took their seats.
To avoid arousing Charlotte’s suspicion, Quentin had to respectfully address Ryan as Mr. Governor.
Ryan felt even more embarrassed inside. Having his superior call him “Mr.”-he wouldn’t dare imagine it if not for the need to keep Quentin’s identity secret.
“Ladies and gentlemen, good evening.”
“Thank you all for coming to my wife’s birthday party and sharing this joy with us.”
“I hope you all have a great time. If there’s anything lacking in our hospitality, please forgive us.”
Quentin led Charlotte onto the stage and gave a speech using a microphone.
“Thank you, Mr. Holland, for inviting us to Mrs. White’s birthday banquet!”
Ryan and others applauded warmly.
Russell and his group could only follow suit, their faces darkening.
“I also hope the Pittman and Parry families enjoy themselves. After all, it’s rare to have such a good meal.”
“Today is also their engagement party-a double celebration.”
“And my wife is kind-hearted enough to host both events together.”
Quentin smiled meaningfully at Russell and his group.
Applause erupted again, and Charlotte’s family was amused by Quentin’s move.
The Pittman and Parry families’ faces turned red with embarrassment. Quentin had humiliated them thoroughly; they were angry but didn’t dare show it, only managing awkward smiles while feeling deeply frustrated inside.
Now they didn’t even feel like holding their engagement party anymore. Quentin’s move was too ruthless; the people he invited were of such high status that it wasn’t even comparable. Their reputations were completely ruined.
Facing Quentin’s sarcastic remarks, Georgia and Brian were so angry that their chests heaved violently.
“Enough talk. Mr. Baxter, let’s start the banquet.”
