Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-8-20

“Quentin, how much money are you wasting again?”
Charlotte didn’t want Quentin to keep spending money on her, especially since she believed he was living off his parents’ inheritance without a job.
“I told you I’d give you a huge surprise. After all, my woman’s birthday must be celebrated grandly.”
“Stop it, I said a simple celebration is enough.”
Quentin hugged Charlotte. Though she scolded him, she secretly enjoyed his affection and felt very sweet inside.
“Daughter, Quentin is really thoughtful towards you. You two should find a time to get engaged soon,” Emma teased them. By now, everything Quentin had done had already moved her, and she had accepted him in her heart.
“Yes, when are Mom and Dad getting married?” Janessa and Theo asked with expectant eyes, smiling.
“Mom! Why are you in such a hurry… Quentin hasn’t even mentioned it yet.”
“Janessa and Theo, you’re teasing Mom too.” Charlotte’s cheeks turned red with shyness, and she didn’t dare look at Quentin.
The family was happy and harmonious.
“Brother-in-law, why did you let them in? They treated us like that just now,” Rashad said, feeling a bit upset.
“It’s okay. We’ll give them a good slap in the face later. We have plenty of seats since we booked the place.”
“Another group of people will come later; they’re all my friends. This time, we’ll celebrate Charlotte’s birthday properly.”
Quentin smiled slightly. Everyone was puzzled about who his friends were.
Russell and the others sat at their seats, feeling restless. They wondered how to regain their dignity when the important figure from the governor’s palace arrived. Sitting there felt like sitting on pins and needles!
The looks from others made them feel intense sarcasm and disdain!
They were unwilling to let Quentin, whom they considered a loser, ride over them again!
Little did they know what expressions they would have when Quentin’s “friends” arrived at the banquet?
Soon after, a middle-aged man in formal attire appeared at the door. He looked dignified and somewhat arrogant.
The Parry family was overjoyed and quickly went forward to greet him! Their faces showed more confidence!
“A warm welcome to Mr. Benjamin Fraser from the governor’s palace for attending the banquet!”
The words were like a thunderclap, stirring up waves in the room!
Russell and the others were even more delighted, as if they had seen a lifeline. They all went forward to greet this important figure invited by the Parry family.
Georgia smiled triumphantly at Charlotte.
“Heh, Charlotte, let’s see what you have to compete with me this time!”
This was a figure that money couldn’t invite!
Was there any comparison?
Dexter Parry and Russell smiled broadly, bowing and scraping, “Mr. Fraser! Thank you for coming! Please come in and sit.”
Dexter and Russell led Mr. Fraser into the dining room.
Mr. Fraser sneered, exuding an overbearing aura, looking down on everyone.
After all, who was he? The famous administrator of the governor’s palace, Benjamin Fraser, a top figure in the entire southeast.
“Quentin, is that administrator from the governor’s palace the friend you mentioned?” Charlotte asked in confusion.
“I don’t know him,” Quentin replied.
“Quentin, Charlotte! Aren’t you coming out to greet Mr. Fraser?” Russell scolded them.
“Mr. Fraser, you might not know that today is not only our Brian and Georgia’s engagement party,” Dexter explained to Benjamin.
“But also Charlotte’s birthday; she is Georgia’s sister.”
“They not only disrupted our engagement party but also deliberately held a birthday banquet on the top floor to humiliate us.”
“Though we share the same roots, why must we be so harsh? Mr. Fraser, you must stand up for us,” Russell pretended to be pitiful, distorting the truth to deceive Benjamin.
Benjamin walked over to Quentin and Charlotte’s table, sneered, and looked at them with contempt, acting superior and dismissive.
“Since you are all from the Pittman family, one body and soul, I will make the decision here. This place will serve as Georgia and Brian’s engagement venue!”
“Your birthday banquet is a small matter; engagement is a major life event!”
“No objections, right?”
Seeing the administrator from the governor’s palace speak up, Charlotte’s family didn’t dare to oppose him. After all, how could they dare to have an opinion against such a figure?
Charlotte felt aggrieved but had no choice.
Georgia and the others were even more arrogant at this moment, their eyes full of ridicule. “Heh, you are not worthy of competing with us!”
Charlotte’s family sighed helplessly.
Quentin slowly stood up and said, “What if I disagree?”
