Quentin arrived at Time Group and strode into Charlotte’s office.
“Quentin, you’re here,” Charlotte said.
“Charlotte, gather the shareholders for a meeting now. I’ll help you handle this.”
Charlotte nodded and immediately instructed her secretary to notify the major shareholders to convene.
The shareholders arrived at the meeting room one after another, including Ewan. No one knew why this sudden meeting was called.
Charlotte sat at the head of the boardroom table, her expression solemn. Quentin was nowhere to be seen.
“Since everyone is here, I’ll get straight to the point.”
“As you all know, during my recent absence, there have been issues with the operation of our new product.”
“These issues have caused significant financial losses for the company.”
“After my investigation, I have identified the cause.”
Everyone remained silent, aware that the company had been experiencing profit and loss issues recently, and their dividends had indeed decreased significantly.
No one knew the reason and felt helpless.
Ewan was already panicking inside, sweating profusely. Could his actions have been discovered?
“I have caught the mastermind behind all this. One of them is Aron, the Director of Procurement.”
“Bring him in.”
Quentin then brought Aron into the room. Everyone was astonished, especially Ewan, whose legs began to tremble with fear.
Quentin’s gaze was as cold as ice. Though no one knew who he was, making eye contact with him sent chills down their spines.
“Alright, I hope the main culprit who has harmed the company’s interests will step forward and confess.”
“If not, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
Charlotte’s tone was icy. Everyone exchanged glances. Could it be one of them?
Ewan felt like he was sitting on pins and needles. He didn’t dare to confess; admitting it would ruin him.
The atmosphere was extremely tense, and time seemed to crawl. Everyone speculated who it could be, perhaps the mastermind was right next to them.
They were ready to strangle the culprit at any moment, given how much they had lost in dividends.
“Since no one is willing to confess, let Aron speak.”
Charlotte broke the silence. Aron had no choice but to step forward and reveal his collusion with Ewan.
Everyone was shocked. Seeing all eyes on him, Ewan couldn’t sit still and stood up in panic.
“How dare you, Aron! You’re slandering me!”
Ewan shouted at Aron, his heart filled with guilt.
“There’s no need to argue. I’ve already investigated your bank transfer records. See for yourself.”
Quentin tossed a record book in front of Ewan, stamped with the bank’s seal. It had just been retrieved by Eileen from the bank.
Ewan picked it up and examined it, his hands trembling and sweat pouring down his face.
The book contained all the transfer records between himself, Aron, and the Bradshaw Group wholesalers.
Most of the company’s funds allocated for procurement had been used to buy substandard materials at the lowest prices, with the remaining funds transferred to Ewan and Aron’s accounts.
With the truth revealed, Ewan had nothing to say and could only remain silent.
He didn’t know how Quentin had obtained his bank transfer records, but struggling now was futile.
“I gave you a chance. Now it’s too late.”
“I hereby announce that Ewan will be removed from his position as a shareholder and will be taken to court. His shares will be compensated to Time Group, and half of these shares will be distributed proportionally among you.”
“Any objections?”
Charlotte’s words were firm and her expression icy. Everyone agreed with her decision; no one opposed her.
After all, each shareholder had taken kickbacks from the company in some way but none had harmed the company’s interests as severely as Ewan.
This was an unspoken rule within the company that Charlotte chose not to expose one by one.
If shareholders didn’t get a taste of the profits, they wouldn’t be motivated to invest or maintain the company’s overall interests.
“Ah! You… you…” Ewan collapsed into his chair, eyes vacant, unable to accept being exposed. “Please spare me.”
“Do you think that’s possible?” The others were furious with him for causing such significant losses to the company and themselves.
Moments later, officers from the precinct arrived, led by Captain Dawson.
Quentin had already informed him to come handle the situation.
“Mr. Holland, your orders?” Captain Dawson bowed to Quentin.
Seeing how respectful Captain Dawson was to Quentin, everyone became even more curious about Quentin’s identity, realizing he wasn’t someone they could afford to offend but should instead ally with.
“Take these two away,” Quentin said, looking at Aron and Ewan.
“Understood! Men, take them away.”
Captain Dawson’s subordinates handcuffed both men and escorted them out.
“Chairman, I know I was wrong. Please give me another chance! I won’t do it again!”
Ewan and Aron continued to plead desperately, but Charlotte ignored them coldly.
“Be quiet! If you want to shout, do it in jail!”
Captain Dawson kicked each of them. They dared not make a sound and could only regret their greed.
“We’ll be leaving now, Mr. Holland. We won’t disturb you any longer.”
Captain Dawson said politely before leaving. Quentin nodded in response.
With the truth revealed and matters settled, Charlotte dismissed everyone from the meeting.
In the chairman’s office:
“Quentin, thank you again for your help.” Charlotte felt a bit guilty since Quentin always helped her solve problems.
“Silly girl, there’s no need for thanks between us.”
Quentin hugged Charlotte’s slender waist to comfort her. Charlotte felt a surge of happiness.
At the same time, a bigger question arose in her mind. “Quentin, are you really just an ordinary undercover agent? How did you even get access to bank records?”
