This scene shocked everyone present. Master Noah of the Ghost Path Church exclaimed, “It’s a spiritual cultivator!”
Master Amirah gestured with one hand, and six beams of blood light separated from the protective shield, rushing towards Leo.
Leo saw clearly that these six beams of blood light were actually six hideous and ugly toads.
Though the toads were only the size of a baby’s fist, they emitted a powerful and evil aura.
Leo snorted coldly and swept his flaming sword forward.
Scarlet flames shot out from the sword, striking the six Blood Toads.
In the next second, the six Blood Toads were engulfed by the scarlet flames.
Under the intense scarlet flames, the six Blood Toads halted their advance, letting out shrill cries as their bodies began to shrink rapidly.
Despite this setback, Master Amirah’s expression remained unchanged. She changed her hand seals.
A piercing Sorcery Curse emanated from the mouths of the six elders of the Curse Sorcery Cult. The Blood Toads within the scarlet flames let out high-pitched cries, their small bodies glowing with blood light, pushing back the flames and rapidly expanding.
At that moment, the six Blood Toads simultaneously screeched and broke through the scarlet flames, lunging at Leo.
Leo’s face changed. He shouted and swung his flaming sword around him like lightning, forming a dense wall of flames.
The six Blood Toads crashed into the wall of flames, scattering blood light and screaming as they were thrown back.
Master Amirah’s expression grew serious. She and the six elders chanted together.
Under the strange incantations, the six Blood Toads regained their vigor. After circling twice, they charged at Leo again.
Once more, they collided with the wall of flames but failed to break through its dense and powerful barrier.
However, this time, the Blood Toads did not fly back but instead clung to the wall of flames.
Soon, Leo began to feel strained, and the wall of flames gradually weakened.
Master Amirah sneered, “Let’s see how long you can hold out! Elders, kill him together!”
Inside the blood-colored shield, the six elders of the Curse Sorcery Cult formed identical hand seals and spat out blood arrows onto their respective Blood Toads.
Empowered by the fresh blood, the Blood Toads grew larger and more ferocious as they attacked the wall of flames.
Leo was alarmed. He mustered his remaining strength and swung his flaming sword wildly, strengthening the wall of flames temporarily.
But this was only a temporary measure. Soon, Leo felt even more pressure as the relentless attacks from the Blood Toads continued.
He couldn’t keep this up; he would be exhausted eventually.
Deciding to target the leader first, Leo used the wall of flames as cover and leaped into the air. He transformed into a blazing meteor and charged at Master Amirah.
With a loud crash, Leo’s sword struck Master Amirah’s protective blood light.
Blood light and scarlet light exploded violently, creating a powerful shockwave.
Leo was thrown back several steps, his face pale.
Master Amirah wasn’t unscathed either. She groaned and spat out a mouthful of blood.
“Master Amirah!” The six elders of the Curse Sorcery Cult were alarmed.
“I’m fine. Kill him!” Master Amirah’s face twisted in anger as she roared.
The six Blood Toads surrounded Leo from all directions.
Without the protection of the wall of flames, Leo had to swing his sword while dodging, becoming increasingly flustered.
Several times he narrowly avoided being touched by the Blood Toads; it was extremely close.
The six Blood Toads were like annoying flies that couldn’t be swatted away.
Leo was getting desperate. If this continued, he would be worn out to death.
As he pondered a solution, one Blood Toad seized an opportunity when Leo was distracted and broke through his defense, crashing into his protective golden armor.
The six elders of the Curse Sorcery Cult were delighted. As long as a Blood Toad entered this troublesome guy’s body, he was doomed.
Fortunately, this Blood Toad didn’t penetrate Leo’s golden armor.
The Blood Toad was bounced back and floated in mid-air for a while before recovering.
The six elders exchanged glances and smirked sinisterly.
Leo had no time to catch his breath. The six Blood Toads, under their master’s control, changed tactics.
They no longer wasted effort circling around Leo but gathered in front of him and lunged at his face with all their might.
Leo’s face was the only part not covered by golden armor. His mouth, eyes, and nose were all potential targets for the Blood Toads.
Leo panicked. He saw blood light flashing before his eyes. Although he swung his flaming sword tightly, such consumption would eventually exhaust him to death.
Weren’t animals supposed to fear fire? Leo couldn’t understand why these Blood Toads weren’t afraid of it.
What were these creatures’ weaknesses?
Leo’s defense was finally breached. His flaming sword paused briefly, allowing one Blood Toad to dart in and enter his open mouth like lightning.
This scared Leo out of his wits. Ignoring the other Blood Toads, he dispelled his flaming sword and hurriedly sat cross-legged to use spiritual energy to forcibly refine the Blood Toad inside him.
As soon as Leo stopped resisting, the remaining five Blood Toads also entered his body.
Leo felt an evil force quickly rushing towards his brain.
He held his breath and concentrated his spiritual energy to attack the six Blood Toads inside him.
Seeing that their Blood Toads had subdued this intruder, Master Amirah and the six elders grinned maliciously.
One elder asked, “Master Amirah, what should we do now? Should we go up and kill him?”
Master Amirah examined Leo’s poisoned-looking face and sneered, “With Blood Toads inside him, he’s as good as dead! Let them slowly torture him to death. We don’t have much time; we must activate the Nine Heavens Star River Formation immediately. That’s our priority!”
“Yes, Master Amirah.” The six elders nodded in agreement.
The six elders exited the blood-colored shield together, leaving Leo struggling alone inside it.
“Master Amirah, your Blood Toads are indeed formidable. Even a spiritual cultivator has been subdued by them,” praised Master Linda of the Five Poison Sect.
“Indeed, Master Amirah. The Curse Sorcery Cult’s current strength rivals that of the Witch Sect at its peak,” Master Noah of the Ghost Path Church added flatteringly.
Master Amirah nonchalantly wiped the blood from her mouth and humbly said, “You flatter me, Masters. Let’s begin setting up the formation.”
“Master Amirah, you seem slightly injured. Shouldn’t we…”
“Don’t worry about me, Master Linda. This minor injury won’t affect our plans. We must activate the Nine Heavens Star River Formation immediately; time is running out.”
“Very well. Please give your orders.”
“Alright then, let’s start the formation,” Master Amirah commanded loudly.
The guards who had retreated earlier now resumed their positions with children and dough figurines in hand.
