Bianca was surprised by Madison’s change in tone. She felt she should spend more time with her mother, especially after her return from overseas, and she was open to visiting. However, she hoped Madison wouldn’t insist on her moving back in.
“Mom, I’ll come over tomorrow and spend some time with you,” Bianca agreed.
Madison felt a surge of happiness. She hoped that by having Bianca visit, she could find a way to keep her around.
But Madison knew this wasn’t enough to solve the bigger issue. A sly smile crossed her face as she planned her next move.
With a touch of elegance, she took a bite of her meal and casually said, “By the way, Bianc, I’m back for another reason. I’m looking for a brand ambassador for Cherish.”
Bianca had guessed that Madison’s return wasn’t just about reconnecting. She remembered Madison talking about possible collaborations with her company. “Mom, have you thought of anyone specific for the position?” she asked.
“I’m interested in partnering with your company. As for who to pick, I’ll let you decide,” Madison said.
Bianca looked worried and frowned. “I’ve just started my company. Partnering with Cherish could create rumors. If people find out about our relationship, it could hurt my reputation. I’d rather succeed on my own and earn a chance to work with Cherish through my own hard work.”
Madison raised her eyebrows, surprised by her daughter’s caution.
Madison had always been bold and confident, coming from a well-known family that supported her. Despite her failed marriage with Peter, she had managed her life without many issues.
Bianca didn’t have the advantages of a powerful background or strong connections. Her path was filled with challenges and criticism. Every step she took was careful, which led her to start Emerald Artists Agency.
Madison understood this cautious approach, but now that she was back, she planned to change things.
“Bianc, Cherish has always pushed boundaries and thrived in tough situations. That’s why it stands out in a competitive world. Your journey from a small-time agent to where you are now aligns with what Cherish values. I’m not just your mother; I chose to work with your company because of your impressive track record.”
Even with Madison’s points, Bianca remained uncertain.
“But even so…”
“Bianc, here’s the thing. Even if you earn Cherish’s partnership on your own, people might still think you have an advantage because I’m your mother. Unfortunately, that’s a reality you might face, no matter how hard you work.”
Madison’s words made sense. The idea of fairness seemed distant in this partnership.
Madison continued, “Successful people don’t get bogged down by small details. As the head of your company, it’s your job to make the most of what you have. Life isn’t always fair. Sometimes, the starting line for some is the finish line for others. It’s a harsh reality, but that’s how it is. I’m not suggesting you deceive or manipulate anyone. I’m just saying that business can be tough. While others might turn a blind eye, keep your conscience clear. Don’t let others’ opinions stop you from doing what’s right.”
On her way home, Bianca reflected on her mother’s words and felt a bit more at ease. She agreed to collaborate with Cherish and was determined to find the right spokesperson while staying true to her values.
Bianca looked cheerful and relaxed as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She felt like she was ready to embrace new opportunities and take on the world with renewed energy.
She arrived home at ten in the evening.
Dave was lounging on the sofa, reading a finance magazine with his legs crossed. He wore gold-rimmed glasses and looked sophisticated in the warm light of the room.
“You’re back,” he said, setting the magazine aside when he saw Bianca.
He wore a dark gray shirt, adding to his mature and reserved look.
Bianca walked over, gently lifted his face, and kissed his cheek. With a playful smile, she asked, “Miss me after just one day?”
Dave took her wrist, pulled her onto his lap, and wrapped his arms around her.
“What’s making you so happy today?” Dave’s deep voice was warm and comforting, sending a shiver through Bianca.
Bianca wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice brimming with excitement. “I’ve secured a partnership with Cherish!”
“Oh? Cherish, that’s a global luxury brand? You’re really impressive,” Dave said, his usual reserve giving way to surprise.
Dave had a hunch when Bianca sat in the VIP section at the fashion show, which sparked a lot of chatter. He did some digging and discovered that Cherish’s founder was Bianca’s mother.
He kept his thoughts to himself and smiled a bit, seeing Bianca so happy.
Her joy wasn’t just about the deal; her mother’s words had also given her a fresh outlook.
But as she noticed Dave’s smile, Bianca hesitated and said with a hint of doubt, “Dave, starting tomorrow, I need to spend some time with my mother…”
Dave looked at Bianca closely and asked, “How long will you be staying?”
Bianca thought for a moment and said, “I’m not sure, but I think…”
Before she could finish, Dave gently pushed her onto the sofa. Standing over her, he let his breath touch her nose and said, “Don’t stay away too long. Come back soon.”
Bianca smiled and playfully nudged his nose, saying, “I’ll let you see what it’s like to be alone this time.”
Dave chuckled, remembering when she had stayed with his grandfather while he was away. “Looks like you missed me while I was gone,” he teased.
Bianca’s face turned bright red with embarrassment. Her fists clenched, and she looked like she might hit him.
Before she could react, Dave leaned in and kissed her.

That evening, Stacey got some money from Rupert, which helped with the urgent problems at Peter’s company. She told Peter that she had borrowed the money by flattering him in front of her female friends.
Peter’s attitude towards Stacey improved a lot after seeing her generous support.
However, the money would only last a short while. Lately, Peter has been busy looking for new investments and staying active in social events.
Stacey relaxed on the sofa at home while Ashley sat beside her, giving her a soothing leg massage.
“Mom, ever since Bianca got involved with Graciel, she’s become so full of herself. I heard her company is teaming up with Cherish. I don’t get what’s so special about her,” Ashley complained, still upset about being overshadowed by Bianca at the fashion show a few days ago.
Ashley was frustrated that Bianca seemed to have a more successful life.
Stacey dismissed Bianca, believing she could never match the influence of the Evans family, the most powerful of the four major families in Edenfield.
