Though her body was trembling and cold, she kissed back with a fierceness she’d never shown before.
Her hands were just as restless.
Dave quickly lifted Bianca and set her on the shoe closet by the door, becoming more aggressive. He unbuttoned his shirt with one hand, exposing his strong chest.
Leaning close, he placed his hands by her ears and asked in a rough voice, “Do you want it here, or…”
Bianca wrapped her legs around Dave’s waist, her flushed face and trembling body revealing her excitement.
“Right here! Just hold me.”
It was her first time taking the lead in a kiss.
The more she desired, the more entranced Dave became. His breath caught, and his Adam’s apple bobbed as he kissed her deeply.
When their passion finally eased, Dave sank onto the sofa with Bianca in his arms. A single floor lamp cast a warm glow, wrapping them in a cozy, loving embrace.
Bianca snuggled against him, breathless. “I feel so cold.”
Dave glanced down and chuckled softly. “You were on fire just moments ago. Why the sudden chill?”
“Don’t let me go. I’ll freeze the moment you do!” Bianca’s soft voice echoed in the large living space.
Dave frowned, sensing her discomfort, and pulled her even closer.
“Bianc, what’s wrong?” he asked, clearly concerned.
Bianca pulled back a little and said softly in the dim light, “My mother and brother have come back.”
Dave was surprised. Bianca’s mother had been living abroad since her divorce over a decade ago and hadn’t returned until now.
‘Why did they suddenly come back today?’
“What have they done? Did they hurt you?” Dave’s first concern was for her well-being.
Bianca shook her head. “No, they’re living content lives, and… they’re kind to me.”
Dave helped her to her feet, turning her to face him. He gazed into her sad eyes. “Then what’s bothering you?”
Bianca murmured softly, her bittersweet smile making her feelings hard to read. “It’s okay; I’m just overwhelmed with happiness. I don’t really know how to handle so much joy.”
Dave furrowed his brow as he watched her, then chuckled lightly. He gently touched her nose and said, “You seem a bit out of sorts. But I get it. If I were to see my parents again, I’d probably be even more excited and confused than you are now.”
His laughter was warm and softened his usually serious expression.
Lost in thought, Bianca leaned into his embrace, hiding her unease. She snuggled against his chest, making him smile.
Dave playfully rolled over, pinning her back on the sofa.
He whispered teasingly in her ear, “Ready for another round?”
The next morning, gentle sunlight warmed Bianca’s face, waking her up.
She saw Dave in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie.
He had a striking build-slender in clothes but with well-defined muscles underneath. His waistline was especially appealing.
Bianca blushed as she remembered the events of the night before.
“Don’t fall too hard for me,” Dave said, glancing over at Bianca after adjusting his tie.
Bianca realized she’d been staring a bit too intently.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself,” she replied softly. She tossed the quilt aside, put on a shirt, and got out of bed. As she approached Dave, she gently adjusted his tie. “Hold still. It’s a bit crooked.”
Dave watched her, noticing her flushed face and sleepy eyes.
She looked so tender and attentive, like a devoted wife.
Dave couldn’t help but chuckle, making Bianca look up, puzzled.
“What are you laughing at?”
His smile was subtle, and his gaze was intense. “What did you think of last night?”
Bianca’s ears and cheeks turned bright red. She playfully tapped his chest. “What kind of question is that? You’re such a flirt!”
Dave held her hand and gently touched her blushing ear. “I had a great time,” he whispered softly.
Dave laughed lightly, then straightened up and gently pinched Bianca’s reddened cheek.
“I have to say, you’re starting to feel more like my wife.”
Bianca was surprised by his words.
Thoughts of her mother’s insistence on breaking them up and the arranged engagement left her feeling down.
She didn’t want to worry Dave, so she forced a small smile and asked, “Will you be home early tonight?”
“So early in the morning, and you’re already missing me?” Dave teased playfully.
Bianca gave him a light tap, but Dave caught her hands in his.
His large hands gently held hers as he smiled softly. “I understand. I’ll be home early. We can shop and cook together.”
Bianca’s heart fluttered with happiness, and she nodded.
After Dave left, Bianca headed to her office.
At ten in the morning, Blake arrived at Bianca’s company.
Wearing a crisp, white hoodie, he looked fresh and youthful.
As soon as he entered the office, he caught everyone’s eye. The receptionist almost missed a beat upon seeing him.
He seemed like the embodiment of a first love dream!
Bianca walked out of her office and extended her hand to Blake. “Welcome aboard, Blake. I hope you enjoy working with us.”
The crowd was visibly surprised.
He had just signed on with Bianca!
Reese peeked from her desk, her eyes fixed on the strikingly handsome man, instantly captivated by his charm.
Reese sighed as a thought crossed her mind.
She leaned back in her chair and pulled out the weight loss medicine Bianca had given her.
“Reese, did Bianca give you that to help with weight loss?” her colleague asked, noticing the medicine box.
Reese nodded slightly.
“Wow, she’s really looking out for you. Does she actually plan to make you a star or something?” the colleague said with a hint of sarcasm.
Reese quickly added, “No, it’s just a one-time thing. There’s nothing more to it!”
Her colleague huffed and turned away but kept glancing at the medicine box out of the corner of her eye.
After Blake got settled in his new role, Bianca received a call from Madison around noon.
“Bianc, come home for lunch. I’ve made your favorite foie gras.”
“Mom, I’m really swamped at work and can’t make it for lunch,” Bianca replied, feeling torn. She was busy and unsure about seeing her mother, so she politely declined the invitation.
Madison seemed to understand and said softly, “I realize now that I made a mistake yesterday. I didn’t consider how you might feel… I’m sorry. If lunch is too hectic, how about dinner? It’s been so long since we had a proper talk.”
Bianca hesitated, remembering her morning conversation with Dave.
“Bianc, if you don’t come, does that mean you can’t forgive me?” Madison’s voice was filled with sadness.
Bianca’s determination weakened. She sighed and said, “I’ll come over after I finish work.”
