Chloe Bowen was raging with anger when she replied, “If I say no, then that’s it!” And with that, she ended the call.
Because the truth was, she was in a panic.
She didn’t know what to do. She knew for sure that Eden Cage would never stop until he achieved his goal.
Chloe was thinking hard, ‘What paternity test? Why would he have such an idea? How did he come to arrive at that conclusion?’
For a long time, Chloe was absent-minded. But an hour later, the servant came in with Eden.
She was so scared that the cup in her hand almost turned over.
Chloe rose and asked angrily, “Who sent you?”
But Eden asked in a neutral tone, “This is my brother’s house. Can’t I come?”
Chloe glanced meaningfully at the servant and the servant immediately walked away.
Then she calmed her nerves and said, “I’m a little bored. Let’s go for a walk outside.”
Eden did not object. Once they got outside, he immediately grabbed Chloe’s arm and eagerly asked, “When will the paternity test be done?”
Chloe lowered her voice and shook him off as she said, “Let me go! As I told you, John Cage has nothing to do with you!”
“I don’t believe it! Unless we do a paternity test!” Eden was getting more suspicious so he asked again, “John, is he my son or not? If you don’t tell me, I’ll take this matter to my big brother!”
Chloe was immediately filled with panic and hatred. She knew that if she didn’t solve this problem, it would become a disaster sooner or later. She knew that the reckless and impulsive Eden would definitely make mistakes. So Chloe thought that if she told him the truth, it could pacify him for a while. So she said, “Yes, John Cage is your son.”
Eden was extremely excited and replied, ” Really? John is really my son? I have a son?”
Chloe put aside his hand and asked, “Are you satisfied now?”
“No! Since he is my son, he can no longer stay here. He has to come back with me!”
Chloe asked in disbelief, “What?” Apparently, the sudden turn of the event didn’t go as she thought it would.
“He is my son. Is it still necessary for him to call Kevin Cage his father? I don’t agree!”
At that moment, Chloe really wanted him to disappear. But she knew she had to hold back her anger so she said, “Tell me, what do you have back there with you? What do you have for John? Toby didn’t leave you any penny. Do you want John to go with you and starve to death? What are we going to do? Is it possible to take my son away from Kevin? It won’t do us any good! ”
Chloe did not expect him to take John away. Although John was his son, Chloe thought it was not decent for him to think he could easily take John away just like that.
So, she didn’t understand why.
If Eden was going to take John away, there was no way she would say yes.
Chloe couldn’t help but think she had won everything she had now. And she wouldn’t allow anyone to rob her of it. She wouldn’t allow anyone to ruin her life now.
So, she soothed Eden, “I know my son will go with you sooner or later, but not now.”
“Until when will I wait?”
“If you think about it, you have nothing now. But if you have everything, you will be able to raise a son justifiably.”
Eden replied to her, “I don’t understand what you are trying to say.”
After scolding the fool in her heart, Chloe told him, “Why don’t you just take Kevin’s property?”
Eden responded, “You’re right. I had hated him for a long time. If I take away his property, as well as his wife and son, everything would be mine!”
“So, don’t be in a hurry.”
As soon as Eden changed his once depressed mood, he became extremely happy. He exclaimed, “God still treats me well and gives me so much hope!”
Chloe did not speak. Secretly, she was calculating the next steps she should take. Sooner or later, she wouldn’t let Eden have the last glimmer of hope.
Meanwhile, Veronica Parker went back to her apartment. She went into her room and lay in bed in a trance.
After about two hours, Veronica Parker still hasn’t moved.
She thought, ‘Am I still sick? Why do I feel so powerless?’
‘Is it because Chloe Bowen hasn’t had bad luck yet?’
She knew that by saying that John Cage was Eden Cage’s son, Eden would definitely go to Chloe with his impulsive temper. She knew that Eden would keep on pestering Chloe about it.
She also knew that Chloe would want to hide the dirty things she had done. Veronica couldn’t help but thought that Chloe could have been very scared when Eden finally pestered her with the truth.
Meanwhile, back at Kevin Cage’s house, the family of three was eating at the dinner table.
John suddenly said, “Mom, Eden had asked me to call him Daddy.”
The moment she heard this, Chloe was utterly shocked. She was scared to death.
While the others didn’t know the real situation, she knew about it very well.
She couldn’t believe that Eden went to see John.
Kevin wondered, “When did this happen?”
John replied to him, “At school!”
When Chloe saw that Kevin looked unhappy and suspicious, she chimed in and gently said, “It’s not his fault. Toby Cage, his son, had just died. He must be very sad. I’m afraid he’s going crazy!”
And Kevin immediately understood.
Kevin was thinking that the trauma of losing a son was more serious than what his problem was. After all, the dead couldn’t be brought back to life.
John very naughtily said, “I’m not going to call him Daddy!”
Chloe smiled and told her son, “Good boy! Of course, you should not. He is your uncle.”
The next day Chloe rushed to Eden’s house. Before he got up, Chloe went straight to his room.
Eden was still asleep when she went in.
Chloe picked up the cup with water next to her and threw it at Eden’s face.
At the impact, Eden Cage jumped up and shockingly said, “Oh, what’s going on?” Then he froze when he saw Chloe. He asked her, “What are you doing here?”
Chloe screamed out of control in front of him, “Did you go to school and talked to John? And you told him to call you dad? You’re sick, aren’t you?”
Eden immediately understood why Eden came to him. He didn’t deny it and told her, “I’m not wrong!”
“Why are you so impatient? It’s only been a day, and that’s what you do? What great things do you expect you to do?”
“I was thinking about my son! Just go and have a look,” Eden said as he got out of bed and stepped forward to hug Chloe.
But Chloe stepped back and asked, “What are you doing?”
“We have a son, and you won’t let me touch him?”
Chloe’s face was livid when she replied, “So, you’re threatening me now, aren’t you?”
“How do you call that a threat? We are the real couple! What’s so good about my brother? He’s not interesting at all! Anyway, we’re going to be together sooner or later, with our son, John. Isn’t that right? ”
Chloe looked at his face and saw that it had become more disgusting.
So, she quickly turned around to go.
But she was stopped by Eden and he closed the door.
“What are you doing?”
“You’ve brought it to yourself. What can’t be justified if I don’t do something?” And with that, Eden hugged Chloe.
“You bastard!”
“If you dare to resist, I will tell my brother about us now!”
At that point, Chloe thought that if she resisted and Eden did what he threatened to do, then she would have let Eden succeed.
After making Eden satisfied, Chloe quickly left the villa.
She was afraid that if she took one more step, she would kill him with a fruit knife.
After going back, Chloe took a bath as soon as possible for fear that Eden left any clues and Kevin would find out.
However, Kevin didn’t come back until the evening.
She wanted to make a call and socialize outside.
And because she was really bored, she went out and went to the bar for a drink.
She sat alone at the bar and finished her drinks glass after glass.
Not long after, a handsome guy came forward and accosted her, “Beauty, are you drinking alone?”
Chloe glanced at the person who approached her. She was treated as a rich woman. She immediately looked for her bag.
