It was such a happy dream but Veronica woke up crying.
Her face was covered with tears and she desperately tried to wipe it.
How she wanted everything to be a dream, how she wished that the person who died was herself.
She didn’t want Toby Cage to die.
Where was Toby now? Did Eden already know?
Was he planned to take Toby to a place she would never know?
She didn’t know how long she had been lying in bed. She was in a daze and it felt like a day or two has passed.
She was going to see Toby no matter what.
Veronica got out of bed, she was devastated by crying too much. There was a distending pain in her head and tightness in her chest.
Veronica pushed the door open, lowered her head, stuffed her feet into her slippers, and stood up.
She walked past Nick, entered the living room, picked up her cell phone and bag, turned around, and was about to leave.
Nick grabbed her by the wrist and said, “Eat first. I’ll take you there.”
Veronica ripped off the hand that was holding her wrist. For her, it was torture that Nick touched her hand!
“I’m going to find Toby. Will you see me off, too?” Veronica looked at him coldly, as if she was looking at a stranger or someone she hated.
“After dinner, I’ll see you off.” Nick agreed.
Veronica smiled and a teardrop fell. “Why are you so generous all of a sudden? That’s right, he’s dead now so you don’t worry about what I’m going to do with him.”
The muscle on Nick’s face tightened, he grabbed her hand and sat her down at the table. “Eat.”
Veronica sat upright, she looked at the rich food prepared in front of her. The main food was liquid base because she had not eaten for two days.
But she had no appetite!
“Don’t make me eat.” Veronica bowed her head and her voice trembled.
“Today is the day of Toby’s funeral. Don’t you want to go?” Nick asked.
Veronica raised her eyes, tears flashed in her eyes, and was about to fall at any moment.
Nick’s threat was just right, eat or she won’t go.
Veronica was like a trapped doll, she was unable to make decisions and could not even go to see Toby.
She wondered why she lived like this.
Veronica dully picked up the spoon, scooped up the liquid food from the bowl, and started eating.
She believed that even if she didn’t have to see Toby that day, there would be another way for Nick’s cage to force her to eat, he was really cruel!
For Nick, as long as she was alive, the process was not important, all he wanted was the result.
When Nick Cage saw that she was willing to eat, he relaxed his nerves and ate with her.
In the graveyard, in front of the newly erected monument stood mourners, family members, and friends dressed in black.
Eden, Kevin, Chloe, John, and Suzanne were present at the ceremony.
The one who Toby cared for the most, Veronica Parker, could only hide in the distance and watch silently.
The tears in her eyes were like a vessel full of water, which would overflow at any moment.
Was Toby really lying in the coffin? Were they really separated forever?
In the morning, she dreamt that he helped her with her homework and teased her.

Veronica’s body shook, Nick feebly held her waist and she immediately pushed him aside, “Don’t touch me!”
Nick raised his eyebrows and looked at her with sharp black eyes. “Let’s go,” he said with a stoic look on his face.
“I’m not going.” Veronica stepped back, “Don’t come near me.”
The news on this side attracted the attention of the persons opposite them.
Eden saw Nick and Veronica and he felt very angry but he did not dare to come forward. After all, Nick had a bodyguard who did not allow strangers to come near him.
There was a more impulsive person who was not afraid of death. It was Suzanne.
With red eyes, she ran towards Veronica to slap her face.
Veronica stood there motionless.
But before she could touch the hair of Veronica, she was pushed by the bodyguard!
Suzanne stumbled and almost fell.
She stabilized herself and glared at Veronica. With a look of hatred and pain, she said, “How dare you to come?”
Veronica had no other expression on her face except for tears that were falling from her eyes.
In fact, her field of vision was already blurred!
At that moment, she wanted Suzanne to slap her in the face!
But she also understood that with Nick, no one could touch her.
“Toby died because of you!” Suzanne burst into tears. “How many times have I told you not to go near him? Why didn’t you understand? The wound on his body and the wound in his heart is not enough for you. Now that he’s dead, the happiest person is you! Veronica, you bitch!”
Nick’s eyes turned angry. “If you want to see him, I can do it for you now!”
Everyone understood his meaning, it was to let Suzanne die on the spot!
Suzanne clenched her teeth, resentfully looked at Veronica and Nick. She said, “Presumably the existence of Mr. Cage does not invade, Veronica Parker can’t hurt you half a point! But who can tell such a thing?”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Kevin stared at Nick and asked, “Did you kill Toby? Did you kill him or not?”
Nick looked at him coldly, “What do you think?”
“You.” He was not able to continue because he was pulled by Chloe next to him.
“Are you confused? How is that possible? They are brothers! I’m sure that’s not going to happen and you should trust your son, too.”
Eden stared angrily at Chloe, she ignored the death of Toby in order to coax the father and son.
“Then tell me, what on earth is going on? Who stabbed Toby?” Kevin asked.
In his tone of voice, he was obviously doubting Nick. After all, there was a problem if he couldn’t find out what really happened.
Kevin knew very well how powerful Nick was and he couldn’t even compare himself. If he really did it, he would never find out!
Nick looked at him coldly with black eyes. “Since you want to know so much, why don’t you ask Toby yourself?”
Kevin was so angry that he almost spurted out a mouthful of bad words!
Didn’t that mean that he should go to hell? Evil son!
Nick turned a blind eye, took Veronica’s hand, and forcibly took her away from the scene!
It was his bottom line to allow her to come here!
Veronica did not struggle and let him take her to the car.
After they got into the car, she sat there in a trance, as if she had lost her soul.
They went back to the apartment and she went straight to the room and closed the door.
Nick stood outside as he looked at the closed door, his face taut. He was hesitating to come forward, he tore open his clothes’ neckline coldly and impatiently.
Obviously, Veronica didn’t want to see Nick!
She hid in the room, wanted to stay inside and not come out!
That was impossible!
Nick stayed outside for almost an afternoon before he entered the room.
