But he didn’t want her anymore.
“If it’s embarrassing —,” Saxon Raglan said.
“I promise, it won’t be,” Veronica Parker said.
“But we should not do it now, we can wait half a month later” Saxon Raglan said.
They would wait half a month later? Veronica Parker thought he wanted Clare Parker to be free now but why would he not want to get her out of the bar as early as possible. What kind of operation was that?
She thought about the possibility that Saxon Raglan didn’t really want Clare Parker. Did he only want her body? Just like Nick Cage wanted hers?
Clare Parker was not a very good person, then why would Saxon Raglan like her? Maybe he had a bad taste, hadn’t he?
At the moment, it seems that there was something else that he was not telling her.
But that was Saxon Raglan’s own business and his feelings had nothing to do with her. Veronica Parker and Saxon Raglan were just working together to deal with Tom Parker. What he wanted to do with Clare Parker was his business.
“No problem,” Veronica Parker said. Then she asked, “How’s it going over there?”
“Everything is going well.”
“Good.”
The call was over.
Saxon Raglan wouldn’t do that for anyone else but only for Clare Parker.
So she had no choice but to meet with Nick Cage, hadn’t she?
Because it was Nick Cage who hide Clare Parker in the bar, Veronica Parker had to take the initiative to find him if she wanted him to let Clare Parker go.
Fortunately, Saxon Raglan wanted everything to start within half a month later and not now. At least she would have some time to prepare herself.
After Veronica Parker took a nap, she saw that the maid had already prepared a snack for her. It contained all the necessary daily nutrition she didn’t really bother about before.
After she finished eating the snacks, Veronica Parker sat in the living room and she watched the television to deal with her boredom.
It was almost 04:00 in the afternoon and Veronica Parker was still watching and paying attention to the television when suddenly there was a knock at the door.
“Mom, open the door!”
“Mom, are you there?”
“Mom we want to see you.”
“Mom, we miss you”
“Open the door, Mom!”
“Mom!”
After a few seconds of confusion, Veronica Parker got up to open the door.
As soon as she opened the door, both of her legs were hugged tightly by the six little ones, and Peter wanted to climb up to her elbows but Veronica Parker put him aside for a little while.
“What are you doing here?” Veronica Parker was surprised.
She looked up and saw Bob instead of Nick Cage.
“Mom, we missed you! And then we thought we should come over!” Peter exclaimed.
“Mom, I’m going in!”
“Me too, Mom!”
“I love it here, Mom!”
“Wow!”
“You’re house is really beautiful!”
The children were like little penguins flapping their small wings as they tour the insides of the apartment and Daniel ran the slowest among them.
Veronica Parker looked at them and she couldn’t react immediately to the situation.
Bob said, “Miss Parker when I went to pick them up, they begged me to come over here so I brought them here. Is that all right? ”
Veronica Parker smiled, “Of course! How could I not want them to be here? I longed to be with them every day. Come on in!”
“No, now that they are here, I’ll go back first to Winter Villa because I have something to do,” Bob said. “Miss Parker, if you need anything, just call me.”
“Okay.”
Bob’s turned the other way and Veronica Parker closed the door.
It seemed that the children were going to stay there for the night.
Veronica Parker went to the kitchen to fill the basin with lukewarm water “Come here, Mom will wash your hands,” the children then ran towards Veronica Parker and Peter took the lead as they lined up.
Behind Peter stood Cathy, Julie, Josh, Lily, and Daniel, all of them had an expectant look on their faces.
One by one Veronica Parker washed their hands with her gentle affection.
As soon as they all finished, they went ahead and play.
“Mom! Look at me! I can stand on one foot! ” Peter said as he held a small pistol in his hand and lifted his short leg.
“How impressive!” Veronica Parker said with a clap.
“I can do it too! ” Julie was ready to stand beside Peter and do the trick but she couldn’t stand firmly. She fell with Peter and they rolled over.
Veronica Parker smiled to herself.
Cathy and Lily were carrying kitchen toys, “Mom, we are going to cook dinner. We are going to eat dinner soon.”
“Well, what would you like to eat, Mom?” Lily asked.
Veronica Parker held her face in her hands and thought carefully, “I want to eat meat and vegetables.”
“Mom, I can make a barbecue!” Cathy said with her bright eyes.
“Mom, I know how to cook too!” Lily joined.
“How about we do it together?” Veronica Parker asked.
“We’d love to, Mom!” Cathy and Lily said in unison. They both looked very happy.
Veronica Parker laid out some sort of plastic toys shaped like vegetables and meat. She also gave them small plates and utensils.
Veronica Parker bought those toys for them when they still live there.
But they didn’t take it with them after they went to Winter Villa.
Anyway, there were a lot of good toys to play with at Winter Villa that are incomparable to what Veronica gave them.
But the kids had a lot of fun. The truth was almost every toy was loved by her children.
Cathy and Lily were cooking and Veronica Parker was setting the table for them.
Josh and Daniel were drawing something on a small table in the distance.
It wasn’t long before that Josh and Daniel came towards her and showed her their drawings.
“Mom look!”
Veronica Parker looked at the steel wire ball that Daniel drew as well as the random lines drawn by Josh. She couldn’t help but laughed, “I didn’t know what you draw but it was beautiful! Was it a flower? ”
When she finished, Josh had tears in his eyes and Daniel looked lost.
Veronica Parker was confused for a moment, ‘Why did they look sad?’
“Mom, Josh drew a tree! And Daniel drew a ball,” Cathy said.
Veronica Parker was speechless at first before she nodded abruptly, “Yes, it’s a tree and a ball. That’s awesome!”
Josh and Daniel were happy right away from the words they heard.
Veronica Parker laughed, they were really easy to please.
The phone on the nearby sofa rang and Veronica Parker got up and took the phone.
They were from an unknown number.
As soon as she answered the phone an angry voice on the other line roared, “I’m going to kill you!”
“Excuse me? I think you are calling the wrong person,” Veronica Parker said.
“If it is not you then who else could it be? Veronica Parker, you’ve made my daughter so miserable right now! I won’t spare you!” Sarah North’s voice on the phone was even shriller that time.
Veronica Parker’s eardrum felt like it was about to be punctured.
She walked over to the balcony and she looked out at the yellow sky and said, “Did I hurt your daughter? What did I do? Don’t take it out on me if you can’t deal with the real culprit!”
“Well, it might not be you who did it but Nick Cage did it for you. Go to Nick Cage and ask him to release Clare Parker!”
“Yes, I’m planning to do just that.”
Sarah North was stupefied for a moment as she couldn’t believe what Veronica Parker said, ” You… What did you say?”
“But it will be done half a month later.”
“Why did it have to take so long? She is being bullied in the bar every day. I’m mad with my daughter’s situation and I can’t stand her doing that kind of dirty work!” Sarah North said with remorse in her voice.
“I already said half a month. Why are you demanding so much? Besides, she was not innocent from the very start. She needs to learn her lessons.”
“Can’t you shorten it a little bit?”
“No! Consider it as a punishment for her evil doings because that will teach her a lesson. No matter how smart she is, she can’t be smarter than Nick Cage,” Veronica Parker said before she hung up the phone
It was not her duty to do any favor for the North family. It was just half a month and it was nothing compared to the damages that she had cost. She didn’t need to be harassed by Sarah North from time to time but she agreed to what Saxon Raglan asked her son would have to stand by her words.
