She didn’t want to work at the TV station of the King Group but she had always been the host of the show Children’s Words and the third season was still being pushed through. She was not the type of person who would give up halfway.
She also felt that Nick Cage had really turned a blind eye to her. Whether she would leave the show or not didn’t look like it would matter much to him.
In the past, she racked her brain just to think of ways to get away from Nick Cage. But all of sudden, it all became true and Nick Cage was voluntarily keeping his distance from her.

Veronica Parker didn’t stay long before she decided to go back to her apartment. She knew that her body hadn’t fully recovered yet from that tragic incident and she should at least let her body took some rest.
When she finally arrived at her place, she picked up her cell phone and found that there was a missed call from Lucy Underwood.
Veronica Parker immediately dialed her number and called her back, “Hello, what can I do for you?”
“No, it’s all right! Don’t mind my missed call. ”
“What’s the matter? You can tell it me now. Don’t make me feel nervous and spill it now. ”
“If I tell you now, please promise that you will not get angry. It’s my mistake, I shouldn’t have called you and stress you out but what those people said about you was too much! However, the comments on the platform have been completely deleted and the comment function had been turned off. The things are calm now, ” Lucy Underwood said nervously.
“What are you saying? I don’t understand you,” Veronica Parker said in a confused tone.
“It is about the people on the internet who are spreading stories about you being pregnant and then aborting your baby. They also said that you were pregnant with your financier’s child. Miss Parker, I’m sorry, I regret calling you and telling you all about this but I can’t help it,” Veronica Parker stood there for a moment and no words were stuck in her throat. She was just holding her phone tightly with her fingers as she breathed heavily.
People were talking about her pregnancy and then they were saying that she had undergone an abortion. Who would put that on the internet? Who knew about her pregnancy?
All that time, she thought it was only between her and Nick Cage.
Was it Nick Cage who spread that horrible rumor?
No, it would not be Nick Cage. He would not be so tasteless no matter what.

Lucy Underwood hadn’t heard Veronica Parker’s voice for a long time. It was as if she was distracted by her own thoughts and barely remembered that she was still in a call. Lucy Underwood was worried and she then asked, “Miss Parker, are you all right?”
Veronica Parker came to reality and said, “I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me. It’s okay, it’s not your fault. I will not even know that there were rumors about me online if you didn’t tell me. All this time, I looked a fool on the show,” Veronica Parker said. “But don’t worry about that and let’s just do well in our job.”

After she hung up the phone, Veronica Parker sat down on the sofa and searched for news about her pregnancy but she was confused when she couldn’t find any words about it anymore.

Toby Cage was holding his phone when he sensed someone was coming into his office and he put the phone into the inner pocket of his coat.
He saw Suzanne Roland stood by the door and he said, “You don’t even know how to knock when you come in now, do you?”
“I know you are easily distracted. Isn’t knocking at the door will only disturb you, is it?” Suzanne Roland went towards him and she sat down on one of the chairs. She took out her phone and then put it in front of Toby Cage.
Toby Cage looked at the screen showing screenshots of Veronica Parker’s pregnancy and abortion.
“From the look on your face, it looks like you already knew about it. You were looking at it before, weren’t you? But now the internet had been dealt with. All the news about it was gone completely and there was nothing left. It didn’t have any effect on you when you read that news, did it?”
“What are you trying to say?” Toby Cage turned and looked towards the door, Suzanne Roland’s silhouette looked cold and estranged.
“She’s a bad person. Why don’t you just forget her?” Suzanne Roland asked.
“It was impossible for me to forget her. You don’t have to meddle with that,” Toby Cage said sternly.
Suzanne Roland said helplessly, “Why would you not care? Don’t you care that she killed her own baby? Toby, why do you still love Veronica Parker when there are so many other good girls out there?”
“Suzanne, you’re crossing the line.”
Suzanne Roland was shocked by Toby Cage’s words and then she laughed, “You’re right. I should mind my own business. I hope you remember that I’m your friend and I’m only doing it for your own good ”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine”
Suzanne Roland looked at him curiously. On the outside, he looked like he was not worried at all but on the inside, she was afraid that he was deeply hurt and his heart would be beyond repaired.
“You mean in the Cage family are so funny, Veronica Parker was the only one on both of your minds. I don’t think the news on the internet was fake because Veronica Parker hasn’t been on the TV station for a long time and I know this best. Why don’t you call her and ask about it yourself?” Suzanne Roland said.
Toby Cage turned to look at her and said, “I thought you were going to stop me from getting in touch with her.”
“If you really can’t let her go then it’s best to take advantage of the situation this time,” Suzanne Roland said then she picked up his phone and said, “I’ll call her right now.”
Toby Cage took away his phone from Suzanne Roland’s hand then he stood up and said, “I’ve got work to do. I’m leaving.”
With that, he left the company.

But the traffic light suddenly turned red.
Fortunately, the car behind him was quick to step on the brakes that time. Otherwise, he would have been hit.
The driver behind him was so frightened that he clutched onto his chest and his voice was shaking, “Oh, my God. That scared me to death. If that collision happened it would’ve scraped my savings!”
When the green light came on, Toby Cage’s car started at a speed that no one else could reach. As soon as the car started, the Porsche flew out like a cheetah.
His car came to a stop and he was already outside Veronica Parker’s apartment building.
But he didn’t go further and he just stayed outside the neighborhood.
He just looked at the entrance gate of the building through his car window.
He could not believe that Veronica Parker got pregnant again with Nick Cage’s baby.

She didn’t know why Toby Cage spent nearly two hours outside her apartment building.
On the other hand, the office of the highest authority of the King Group was filled with tension.
“Can’t you find it?” Nick Cage asked.
“There is no way to find the news posted by a tourist on the internet,” Kay Tours said.
Nick Cage’s cold eagle eyes were sharp as he turned to look at Kay Tours and his dark aura filled the room.
