She felt uncomfortable.
She tried to move her body to relieve the pain when she felt his hand pressing down on her lower abdomen. It helped relieve the pain.
She didn’t move. She opened her eyes and stared at him.
“Do you like kids?” he said in a soft tone.
“Whether I like kids or not, the fact will still remain, I can’t bear a child”, she said.
The truth was she loves kids.
“Sounds like you don’t love kids. That is why it doesn’t really matter if you can bear a child or not”, he said.
“At least I can still get married”, she said.
“No one dares to marry you without my permission. You are my property!”, he angrily said.
She doesn’t like what he said. She wondered how long he would control her.
“It’s for your own good”, he added.
He looked at Nick Cage and thought he couldn’t seem to understand what was good for her.
“Stay with me so you won’t get pregnant”, he said.
“Mr. Cage, you know the fact that I couldn’t bear a child. What’s the point of staying with you?” she annoyingly said.
“I have no feelings for foolish children”.
Veronica Parker was stunned. He doesn’t want to have kids. What about his own children?
He really has no affection for children. He even took his own for granted.
She chose not to speak as it would enrage him. She fell asleep.
It was dark outside when she woke up to an unfamiliar place.
She was sure that Nick Cage brought him there.
She felt weird. She was just lying on his lap with his hands pressing her belly. Did she sleep that long?
There was a hot water bag in her stomach. It made her feel better but the pain she felt earlier left her no energy.
She lifted the blanker and got off the bed. She went to the window and realized she was in Winter Villa.
She came into her senses. For her, Winter Villa was a gate of hell.
She turned around and saw Bob, “Miss Parker, you’re awake. Dinner is prepared and your medicine was on the table. Would you like to dine here in your room?” he asked.
She doesn’t want to see Nick Cage, so he asked Bob to bring the food to her room.
“All right”, Bob said and turned away.
Veronica Parker was thinking if Nick was suspecting something.
She thought Tracy Dora knew something was wrong with her, so she has to talk to her in private. She was afraid that she might tell Nick Cage anytime.
It made her nervous.
She wasn’t able to eat that much because she was not feeling well. She took her medicine and lay in bed.
She was about to fell asleep when Nick Cage entered the room. He asked her to stick her tongue out to check if she really took the medicine.
She stuck her tongue out and felt uneasy with his presence.
The helper picked up the plates next to her and went out. Nick Cage sat next to her and asked, “You didn’t like the food?”
“I love it, but I really don’t feel well”, she replied. “Can I leave now?”
“Do you want to leave? Then you can start walking now”, Nick Cage said.
“Can’t you ask the driver to take me home?” she frowned.
“No”, he said in a cold voice.
He has so many cars and drivers, but no one was available to take her home. It was obvious that he doesn’t want her to leave. She thought of leaving by herself, but Winter Villa was so big, it would take forever before she could reach its gates.
“When can I leave?”
“When you recovered”.
“What? No! I have to leave tomorrow”, she angrily said.
“Do you have my permission to leave?” he smirked at her.
“Why are you controlling me?” she shouted.
“Those who can’t withstand must be obedient”.
Veronica Parker was too angry and chose not to rebut.
Nick Cage was so powerful that he could cover the sky with a palm.
Her cellphone rang. She held her anger and took out the phone from her bag.
She accidentally dropped the medicine bottle and it rolled out on the floor. She immediately picked and put it back in her bag.
She looked at the caller ID and said, “It’s Isabella. I should take this”.
She went to the corner and answered the phone, “Isabella! I can’t make it; I have to work overtime. It’s okay. Don’t worry about me. Bye!”
She hung up the phone and heard Nick Cage’s voice
“What was that you’re taking?”
Veronica Parker was stunned.
“Vitamins”, she answered.
“Take it here,” he ordered.
Veronica Parker knows that this man was not so easy to fool.
Without hesitation, she took the medicine bottle out of her bag and handed it over to Nick Cage.
He looked at the labels and read the instructions. His expression suddenly changed that made her feel nervous.
It was really a bottle of vitamins, but inside was her medication.
What if Nick Cage opened the bottle and recognized the pills inside?
“I told you, it’s just my…”
She wasn’t able to finish her words when she saw Nick Cage open the lid. She was so scared. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes and held her stomach.
“Hmmm”, he smelled the pill.
Looked like he was convinced. He placed the bottle on the table and asked, “Does it hurt?”
“Not really. I have to go to the toilet and change”, she replied.
She turned around and was about to walk to the toilet when he grabbed her arm, “Do you have bread?”
He didn’t wait for her to answer. He took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Do you have pads? How long will it take?”
