“I will never see Toby Cage again, I promise.”
“Do you want to have the next time? Huh?” Nick Cage trapped her between his body and the elevator. He held her chin, lifted her face, and asked dangerously.
“No, no, no! There will be no next time!” Veronica Parker hurriedly changed her tune.
“Remember, if you dare to resist, I will make your life a living hell!”
Veronica shuddered gently. “Yes.”
The elevator door opened but Nick didn’t go out. One of his hands clenched Veronica Parker’s trouser waist. He pulled it hard and both of them heard a hiss of the fabric.
“Ah!” Veronica rebelled in panic, “No!”
“What did I just say? Did you forget so soon?” Nick asked dangerously.
“But this is the elevator.” Veronica’s eyes twinkled, she felt embarrassed and uneasy.
Nick held her neck with one hand and exerted a slight force.
“Ah, it hurts.” Veronica Parker said as she kneeled directly in front of him. Her position was facing his waist and abdomen and it frightened her so much that she started to retreat.
Nick Cage clasped her face with one hand and looked down at her. “Do you like the feeling of being pressed on the head? Huh?”
Veronica Parker flushed with humiliation, “Why are you doing this to me? I told you, it’s none of my business. I’m innocent! You are clearly venting your anger!”
“Vent out my anger? With that woman’s blood running on your veins, I really can’t see your innocence.” Nick’s voice carried an unfathomable danger.
“Is that something that I can choose? I’ve tried to avoid you. How did I know I’d run into you? It’s too late for me to avoid you!” Veronica just wanted to discuss it with him and said, “I’ll leave the capital and I’ll leave tomorrow morning. No, no, if you will let me go now, I’ll leave by train this night. Is that all right?”
Wasn’t her sincerity enough? Why did she have to be involved in this mess with Nick? She was so unlucky!
“Do you want to go and escape? You’re not going anywhere without my permission.” This matter was non-negotiable for Nick.
Veronica felt that she was going to be crazy. This was not allowed, that was not possible, in the end, she wanted to question him what would be possible!
No way! She would not let Nick Cage invade her life.
In the eyes of Nick Cage, she was no longer just a woman who have had sex with him in a bar three years ago but the daughter of Chloe Bowen, whom he hated a lot.
She would be eaten alive by Nick Cage, he would torture her and she may not even have the strength to get out of bed.
If she wanted to get out of here, she had to find a way.
“Take the initiative, maybe I’ll make you suffer less.” She heard the dangerous sound of Nick’s voice.
Veronica regained her wits and she tapped away the hand that was holding her face. She stepped back, stood up, and ran out of the elevator hurriedly.
She has not yet reached the elevator entrance when somebody grabbed her waist and held her tightly. The next second her feet were off the ground. Then, her body was pressed against the wall of the elevator again.
“Ah!” Veronica Parker shouted in horror.
She experienced shortness of breath and it was very difficult for her to breathe.
That scene was deja vu.
Nick looked at her gloomily, his face was completely shrouded in darkness.
“Save. Help me.”
Nick breathed heavily and that seemed to suppress his fury.
“Where is medicine?” He asked coldly.
Veronica shook her head weakly. “No. No.”
Nick took out his cell phone and called Tracy Dora with a cold expression. “Did you not give her medicine last time?”
Tracy Dora on the other line was a little confused but she understood what Nick meant after a few seconds, “Yes, a man came to get it for her. Did you do it again? Where is it?”
“Winter Villa.”
Tracy Dora froze, Winter Villa? That girl went to Winter Villa? Who was that girl? Tracy couldn’t believe that Nick took her to the Winter Villa.
If she would suffer from asthma attacks, it was not because of Nick Cage again, was it?
Wouldn’t this man be gentle? Why did he have grudges?
After the phone call, Nick Cage picked up Veronica Parker and carried her back to his room.
Veronica gasped hard and breathed painfully. Nick was there to hug her and comfort her.
This was not right! Nick Cage should have thrown her out the gate. Then, she would secretly run away. After her first asthma attack, Nick Cage wanted to check whether it was true or not so he would no doubt it this time.
Of course, she was just pretending to be asthmatic but this development was very different from what she imagined!
Why did he want her to be cured?
When he entered the room, Nick put Veronica on the sofa and sat. Nick’s hand was on her side, he was trapping her on the sofa and the shadow covered her tightly.
Veronica, with her eyes closed and her lips open, was still gasping hard, she was still feeling the danger approaching.
But she was afraid to stop.
“I’ll let you go now.” The breath of Nick Cage was low with a magnetic coldness.
Veronica was stunned. She opened her eyes and met the stare of his obsidian eyes. Did she hear him right?
“Why did you stop painting?” Nick asked.
Veronica Parker reacted to his gasp and stopped after she heard Nick’s words.
It was over, she was already discovered!
He held her jaw. “Do you think it’s good to play tricks in front of me?”
“Oh, it hurts.” Veronica’s jaw was crushed by him and his hands clasped her wrists.
His strong hands frightened her.
She didn’t even know how Nick Cage found out that she was only faking her asthma.
Nick suddenly loosened his tight grasp and got up. “Wait for the medicine to be delivered, don’t spoil my fun next time.”
With that, he turned around and left.
Veronica Parker sat up with a flustered look on her face.
It would not be violent when Nick and she went to bed later, right? That thought scared her out!
No, if things would really go on like this, could she go back at night?
What about her children?
What Veronica Parker cared about the most was the six little ones at her home. They were much more important than her own safety.
Veronica Parker stood up and looked at the door. When she didn’t see Nick, she immediately took out her cell phone and called Isabella.
The other end of the line rang several times and no one answered.
Veronica Parker was so anxious that she was flustered. Why didn’t she answer the phone call? Was she resting?
She kept on calling Isabella’s number.
After a few more rings, someone answered and she heard Isabella’s voice, “What’s wrong?”
Veronica breathed a sigh of relief. “Isabella, can you help me go home?”
“I’m not at home. ”
“Did you went out and left the children at home alone?”
“Yes, because it happened for a reason, I just didn’t expect that it would take so long.”
“Really, then next time give me a call first before you go out. What if something happens to the children? All right, I’ll be there now.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me. Are you all right?”
“I’m fine. I’ll try to go back as early as possible.” Before Veronica finished speaking, she felt a presence with her inside the room.
She looked up and met the dark and cold eyes of Nick. She was so scared that she immediately hung up her cell phone.
His eyes were flustered.
When did Nick arrive? He was so fast and silent. He was a terrible beast that suddenly appeared behind her.
