The light seemed starry within his deep black pupils. His thin lips curled up into a slight smile as he gradually opened his mouth and said, “I would have to go if he didn’t.”
His sentence silenced Rosiley.
She quickly changed her tone from her initial support for Morphy. “Actually, Morphy is still young. It is good to train him more now.”
Sachin stared at her with gentle eyes as a slight smile appeared on his lips.
Far away in Africa, Morphy sneezed at the same time. He rubbed his nose and stared at the wilderness in front of his eyes, as well as those black friends by his side.
Tears filled his eyes. “Oh God! Why do I have to come to such a horrible place?”
The next day, Rosiley arrived early at the company.
Lina asked to meet her in her office.
“Do you feel better now?” Lina asked.
Rosiley smiled gently and replied, “Thank you, I am already much better.”
Lina nodded and pondered for a while before continuing, “Lonny was originally fired by the CEO. However, Manager Su came directly to ask me for her. Lonny became her personal assistant.”
“So…” Lina smiled apologetically, “I’m sorry that I couldn’t help you.”
Rosiley shook her head. “That’s all right. You and I should both know what kind of person Lonny is. She would never be willing to work under me. It is understandable that she became Manager Su’s personal assistant.”
“That’s true. But…” Lina sighed gently, her eyes filled with worry, “Your situation in the company will be worse.”
Rosiley looked nonchalant. “I’m not scared. I shall block any plot they throw at me.”
Hearing that, Lina complimented her. “I admire your calmness.”
Rosiley smiled and didn’t say much.
The two discussed matters of work for a while before Rosiley walked out.
The supporters of Lonny, who were always happily chatting to each other, stared at Rosiley when she appeared as if she were a ghost. They were stunned as they watched her walk past them.
Rosiley’s eyes brushed across them as her lips curled up gently.
After she returned to her seat, Yayoi walked over.
“Have you fully recovered? Why do you want to return to work so early? Why not rest for a few days more?”
Rosiley turned on her computer before turning around to look at her, saying half-jokingly, “I missed you.”
“Stop it.” Yayoi laughed out loud. “Will you still miss me with Mr. Lu accompanying you?”
Rosiley couldn’t hold back her laughter as well as she squeezed her cheeks. “All right, I didn’t miss you. I merely wanted to come back to work since things started to get more interesting.”
Yayoi rolled her eyes to express her indignance. She sighed as she feigned regret. “Why are those people so pitiful?”
“Those who are pitiful must be detestable too.” Rosiley glanced at her amusingly before opening the website, where news about the IP show “Legend of Concubine Qing” jumped out.
Yayoi looked at it and snorted. “I really didn’t expect Rorey to get the role of the second female lead.”
She had expected Rorey to be rejected by the production team and didn’t expect them to be so shameless as to use Rorey, an actress with no acting skills.
“It’s down to her own ability to get such a role. However, to become famous, she’ll need more than just her abilities.”
“Does Rorey really think that she can become famous through such a show? Does she really think that the audience is stupid?”
“Let me offer her two words!”
“Dream on!”
