Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-8-5

Quentin arrived at Springfield Hospital, where the director and the best medical staff were already waiting.
“Mr. Holland, follow me!”
Seeing Quentin holding his child, visibly anxious, the director immediately led him to the best intensive care unit in the hospital.
“Daddy… where am I?” Janessa’s eyes slightly opened.
“Janessa, darling, you’re just sick. Don’t be afraid,” Quentin comforted her.
“But Daddy, you have to stay with me…” Janessa’s voice was extremely weak.
“Daddy is here. Daddy will protect you,” Quentin forced a smile.
In the ward, after handing Janessa over to the medical staff, Quentin was filled with anxiety. His only worry was whether Janessa’s life was in danger.
“Mr. Holland, rest assured, I will do my utmost!” The director bowed deeply to Quentin.
“Thank you,” Quentin waved his hand, and the director immediately entered the ward to start the treatment.
Soon after, Charlotte and her family, along with Nash, arrived.
“How is Janessa? Tell me now!” Charlotte was emotional, grabbing Quentin’s hands and shouting.
“Calm down. I have arranged for the best medical staff to take care of Janessa. We just need to wait quietly for the results,” Quentin had no energy to argue with Charlotte.
“If it weren’t for you causing trouble tonight, Janessa wouldn’t be like this. If anything happens to her, I won’t forgive you!”
“It’s all your fault! It’s all because of you!”
“If something happens to Janessa… what will I do?”
Charlotte was devastated, tears streaming down as she pounded on Quentin.
“Yes, it’s my fault. I promise I won’t argue with you in front of the kids anymore. Just don’t bother me now. Let’s wait.”
Quentin turned and sat on a bench in the corner, Eileen following closely behind.
Quentin waited anxiously as if time had slowed to a crawl. Everyone was on edge; Emma comforted the sobbing Charlotte while Quentin paced back and forth in the hallway.
Finally, the director came out of the ward and walked towards Quentin, with Charlotte’s family quickly gathering around.
“Mr. Holland, Miss Pittman, your daughter’s condition has stabilized, but it’s still serious…”
“Director, please save my Janessa. What’s wrong with her?” Charlotte was almost losing her sanity, and Emma held her tightly.
“Our medical staff has diagnosed Miss Janessa through blood tests. Mr. Holland, please prepare yourself.”
“Go ahead,” Quentin braced himself for the worst.
“Miss Janessa has been diagnosed with leukemia. We will do our best to find a matching bone marrow donor for her.”
The director’s tone was filled with sorrow.
“Director, there must be a mistake! Janessa is only five years old…”
Charlotte was already in tears, leaning on Emma who was also heartbroken.
Quentin remained silent, but his heart was torn apart. He felt the pain of a father losing his child.
“Please do your best, Director. Can we see her now?”
Quentin held back his grief; he couldn’t show weakness. On the battlefield, he had lost comrades but continued to carry their will. Now facing the possible loss of his beloved daughter, he couldn’t give up. He believed there must be a way to save Janessa!
“Sorry Mr. Holland, Miss Janessa hasn’t woken up yet. She needs a quiet environment to recover.”
“You should go home and rest. I’ll notify you and Miss Pittman as soon as she wakes up.”
Hearing this, Quentin and the others had no choice but to go home and wait for news. Even though they were anxious, there was nothing more they could do but hope for Janessa’s recovery.
“Eileen, search for matching bone marrow donors for Janessa domestically, no matter the conditions.”
“Don’t worry, sir. I’ll do my best.”
The two then drove towards the Howard family residence.
Charlotte’s face was pale and tear-streaked; she couldn’t accept that Janessa had leukemia. Emma supported her all the way.
“Charlotte, don’t be too sad. I’ll find a matching bone marrow for Janessa.”
“Leave it to me. Don’t worry too much; Janessa will be fine.”
Nash tried to comfort her while secretly making plans.
Charlotte nodded; now all she could hope for was to find a matching bone marrow donor quickly. There was no other way.
Nash had never liked Charlotte’s two children; to him, they were just Quentin’s illegitimate kids. He would never be their stepfather. And this… this was a perfect opportunity.
