Chapter 193: You Still Have Me

Bianca’s calm eyes now shimmered with tears. They streamed down her cheeks, adding a poignant touch to her demeanor.
Concerned, Dave gently wiped her tears away, his eyes full of affection.
Softly, he whispered, “You still have me.”
Those tender words broke through Bianca’s emotional barriers.
Unable to hold back, she sobbed openly, tears flowing freely. Despite her triumph and revenge today, she found no comfort. Weariness weighed heavily on her heart.
Every step Bianca took today was deliberate. How had her life come to this? She had only wanted a normal life, loved by her parents. But circumstances forced her to be cautious and ruthless.
In the end, she won, but it felt like she had lost something.
“Mr. Evans… Do you really love me and never lie to me?” Bianca looked into Dave’s eyes, hoping for comfort.
Dave avoided her gaze, gently touching her hair as he replied softly, “Of course… Even if there are things I keep from you, it’s to protect you.”
“But I want us to always be honest with each other. Together, we can face anything.” Bianca hugged him warmly, seeking pure love and unconditional support.
Bianca looked deeply into Dave’s eyes, her words sincere and heartfelt. “I don’t want to just be your girlfriend anymore. I want us to commit to each other and share our lives. Why don’t you introduce me to your grandfather? I’ll do my best to earn his approval.”
Dave, somewhat surprised, held her close, sensing her eagerness. He knew how remarkable Bianca was and believed anyone who met her would be charmed. But the situation with his family was delicate beyond measure.
The timing wasn’t right. In his grandfather Lucas’s mind, his son’s decision to marry outside their circle and sacrifice everything for love had always been a sensitive issue. Dave couldn’t predict how his grandfather would react to Bianca’s presence. Would she face the same fate as those before her?
Even with a glimmer of hope, he couldn’t take the risk.
Moreover, his uncles, who sought to undermine his claim as heir, would exploit any weakness in their family’s ranks.
He couldn’t reveal who he really was or tell anyone about it until he was certain.
“Bianc, do you trust me?” Dave asked quietly.
Bianca nodded firmly.
Dave promised her, “If you trust me, please be patient a little longer. I’ll talk to my grandfather and arrange for you to meet him as soon as I can.”
Bianca smiled gently and replied, “Okay, I’ll wait for you patiently. I’ll always be here, waiting.”
Dave responded by kissing her more deeply, their passion intensifying.
Meanwhile, at the Scott home, Petter scolded Sheila once more, his anger now directed at Stacey. “Is this how you’ve been raising Sheila? She did something shameful and embarrassed me! Like mother, like daughter. Stacey, are you hiding similar actions from me?”
Stacey had always believed her daughter Sheila to be virtuous and innocent, preserving her purity. She never imagined Sheila could keep such a huge secret.
Sitting on the sofa, Stacey was lost in thought. The evening’s events had deeply shaken her. They were close to securing a marriage into a wealthy family, with Stacey set to become the mother-in-law of a rich man.
Despite Sheila’s mistakes, she was still Stacey’s daughter. She could have hidden her youthful indiscretions if Bianca hadn’t exposed them. Now, Sheila had lost the chance to marry into wealth.
Stacey blamed Bianca entirely for this.
Frustrated, Stacey dug her nails into her skin. She vowed to make sure Bianca experienced despair far worse than what she felt now, sooner or later!
“Petter, if you need to blame someone, blame me. It’s my fault. I failed to guide Sheila properly. But remember, we’ve all been young and made mistakes. Sheila may have messed up in the past, but she’s changed. If Bianca hadn’t intervened, Sheila would already have been engaged to Joshua, and your company’s investment issue would have been resolved. Despite being family, Bianca has repeatedly plotted against us. Why does she keep doing this to us?” Stacey sobbed as she talked.
Just then, Petter’s phone rang unexpectedly.
‘Who could be calling at this hour?’
Petter furrowed his brow and answered the call. After a brief conversation, his face went pale, and the phone slipped from his hand to the floor.
Petter lay on the sofa, looking visibly older.
“Petter, what’s happened?” Stacey rushed over, concerned.
“Our old business partners want to cancel our contracts. The financial chain is breaking apart. My company is close to bankruptcy…” Petter’s voice was detached, filled with despair.
Stacey was shocked. “Why are they canceling the contracts?”
“Because we’ve angered the Reed family. They have the power to ruin us.”
Stacey slumped onto the sofa, murmuring bitterly, “This is all because of Bianca!”
“Mom, I’m ruined. I’m completely ruined!” Suddenly, Ashley screamed and threw herself at Stacey’s feet.
Stacey shot her daughter a cold glare.
Ashley cried loudly, “Golden Gate Films canceled my contract, and they’re threatening to blacklist me! That video got posted online, too. Everyone is mocking me. That woman has destroyed my future! Mom, Dad, you have to do something, or I’ll be in serious trouble!”
“Shame on you! If you hadn’t done such a disgraceful thing, we wouldn’t be in this mess! Get out! I never want to see you again!”
Petter’s hands trembled uncontrollably. He regretted allowing Stacey to bring Ashley into their lives and integrate her into the Scott family through marriage.
“Dad, it’s obvious that Bianca is to blame. How can you let me take the blame for this?” Ashley argued, frustration evident in her voice.
“That’s enough!” Stacey interrupted abruptly, standing up from the couch to stop the argument.
“Stacey, if my company goes bankrupt, I’ll divorce you!” Petter stormed out; his anger was evident.
Stacey froze. It had taken her a long time and a lot of effort to secure her position beside Petter and achieve the status of a wealthy wife.
Now, Stacey’s dreams of staying in a wealthy family were shattered. Without Petter, she might end up back where she started.
Stacey clenched her fists, determined not to let that happen, no matter what.
“Mom, how could Dad say that?”
“Go back to your room!”
Before Ashley could say another word, Stacey’s firm tone sent chills down her spine. “I’ll take care of my own issues.”
“Let me deal with it.”
Relieved by Stacey’s reassurance, Ashley sighed deeply. She nodded silently and withdrew to her room.
After everyone had left, Stacey sat on the sofa. After a moment of thought, she picked up her phone, found a number, and dialed it.
A deep voice answered the phone. “What’s going on?”
“I want to meet you tomorrow.”
