Chapter 1419: Can I Borrow It

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-8-3

Leo finished speaking, took the bracelet from the small cauldron, and handed it to Kristian.
Kristian was stunned; he never expected this young man to be so generous.
As soon as his hand touched the bracelet, Kristian felt the AZURE SWORD in his sleeve tremble.
This confirmed to Kristian the connection between the AZURE SWORD and the Sandalwood Blood Dragon Wood.
After his initial shock, Kristian’s face lit up with joy and disbelief. “Young man, are you really lending this to me?”
At that moment, Kristian looked nothing like a distinguished figure; he seemed more like a destitute beggar who had just found a winning lottery ticket worth five million dollars.
Leo nodded with a smile.
“Thank you, thank you so much. I’ll bring the Devata Sutra to Spirit Moon Antiques first thing in the morning!”
Leo waved his hand. “Kristian, there’s no need for that. The bracelet is lent to you without requiring anything in return.”
Kristian, not one to be overly formal, beamed. “In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony. From now on, we are friends. If you ever need help, just let me know, and I’ll be there without hesitation!”
Arlene was secretly pleased to hear this. She hadn’t expected Leo to make friends with Kristian in such a way and even secure his promise of assistance.
If Spirit Moon Antiques ever faced difficulties in the future, they would have a powerful ally.
Ethan’s expression was sour. He felt neglected; he had thought he would be the star of this treasure exhibition, but now he felt like an extra.
Having already showcased his treasures and with nothing left to draw attention, he decided it was better to leave than sit idly by.
He gave Ryan a look, who understood and stood up to bid farewell to Karson Ballard before leaving with Ethan.
Karson Ballard made a token effort to keep them but ultimately saw them out.
Downstairs, Ethan was almost gnashing his teeth. “Ryan, you saw what happened today. If Karson Ballard and his group help Spirit Moon Antiques, they might make a comeback.”
“And that Leo is no simple character either. We need to come up with a plan!”
Before coming here, Ethan’s father Dereon had instructed him to use this treasure exhibition to boost Bonham Auction House’s reputation.
Who would have thought Leo and his companions would disrupt everything? This trip turned out to be a waste, and he expected a scolding upon returning home.
The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Why were those two sisters so lucky? It was infuriating!

Josiah Meredith had a habit of reading at night and was currently engrossed in a book in his study.
Knock knock!
The door to the study was knocked on.
“Come in!” Josiah Meredith said without looking up.
Harvey walked in and hesitated upon seeing Josiah Meredith reading. “Sir, Miss is causing trouble at home again. She insists on going out.”
Since returning from Langstel last time, Marina Meredith had been under house arrest by Josiah Meredith.
“Let her cause trouble. Even if she brings down the sky, she won’t be allowed out!” Josiah Meredith said coldly. “I’ve been too lenient with her!”
“Yes!” Harvey nodded and then added, “I delivered the appraisal results as you instructed…”
Josiah Meredith paused, put down his book, and looked up. “Did you personally give them to Old Mr. Bloomer?”
“Yes, I handed them to him myself.”
“Good.” Josiah Meredith nodded.
He had been contemplating whether to send his appraisal results to the Bloomer family.
Upon learning that Jason Bloomer was likely to get a promotion, Josiah Meredith decided immediately and instructed Harvey to deliver the results to Old Mr. Bloomer.
Josiah Meredith could only gamble that Old Mr. Bloomer was unaware of the situation.
If his gamble paid off, Old Mr. Bloomer would be furious, and the Bloomer family would be thrown into chaos!
He hoped this would disrupt Jason Bloomer’s emotions and affect his career path.
Otherwise, once Jason Bloomer rose in rank, the gap between the Meredith family and the Bloomer family would widen even further.
At the Bloomer family estate.
“Dad, you called for me?” After work in the evening, Jason Bloomer hurried over to his father’s place.
His father’s tone had been urgent on the phone, so he dared not delay.
“Come here,” Old Mr. Bloomer beckoned Jason Bloomer over.
Jason Bloomer quickly approached.
Slap!
A crisp sound of a slap echoed.
Old Mr. Bloomer angrily demanded, “Tell me, what are you hiding from me!?”
Jason Bloomer was stunned by his father’s slap and covered his face in surprise. “Dad, when have I ever hidden anything from you?”
“Still lying!” Old Mr. Bloomer’s chest heaved with anger, his face flushed.
He grabbed an appraisal report from his desk and threw it at Jason Bloomer’s face.
Jason Bloomer hurriedly picked up the report from the floor. Upon reading it, his expression changed dramatically. “Dad, who gave this to you? It’s fake; it must be fake!”
“Fake?” Old Mr. Bloomer’s face darkened. “I didn’t say it was real. Why are you reacting so strongly?”
“Dad, do you suspect I’m deceiving you? I’m your own son!”
“Besides, if he really were Jackson’s son, I’d be overjoyed. Why would I do something so underhanded?”
Jason Bloomer quickly defended himself.
“Hmph, whether you’re deceiving me or not, you know best! And those two kids of yours are no angels either.”
“Dad, you have to believe me. Tell me who gave you this appraisal result; I’ll confront them! This is clearly an attempt to harm our family!”
Jason Bloomer said angrily.
“Josiah Meredith. Go find him,” Old Mr. Bloomer said coldly as he sat down on the sofa.
“Josiah Meredith!?” Jason Bloomer was taken aback and quickly moved closer to his father. “That explains it. Dad, Josiah Meredith is despicable!”
“Why else would he bring that Leo to Jingbei? He clearly wants to disrupt our family!”
“Even if we know that’s his intention, we still have to thank him! He’s bringing us a grandson!”
“For so many years, why didn’t you go to Langstel to find out?”
Old Mr. Bloomer glanced at Jason Bloomer and continued coldly, “Besides, if our family falls into chaos, we have no one but ourselves to blame for being disunited and self-serving!”
Although Old Mr. Bloomer no longer managed family affairs, he was well aware of everyone’s little schemes within the family.
“Yes, yes, father is right. It’s my incompetence that has failed to manage our family properly.”
Jason Bloomer’s forehead was covered in cold sweat as he bowed in self-reproach.
“Good that you understand.” Old Mr. Bloomer glared at him and then pondered aloud, “I know Josiah Meredith’s intentions, but I can’t ignore our family’s descendants!”
“Although this appraisal result may not be genuine, I can’t pretend I didn’t see it.”
“I’ve decided to contact some old friends at the sanatorium and have them reappraise Leo and me!”
