Chapter 1408: The Fall of Felix

With the infusion of spiritual power, the Divine Dragon Sword shone brightly, piercing through Felix’s back.
The Wolf Tribe prince lived up to his title. Despite the dire situation, Felix still swung his Bloodaxe towards Leo.
Leo reacted swiftly. After landing a hit, he withdrew his sword and retreated quickly, avoiding the Bloodaxe.
Blood gushed from Felix’s chest, splattering onto the ground. His massive wolf body trembled violently as the Bloodaxe fell from his grasp.
“You… you actually…!” Felix’s face was filled with disbelief, and the light in his eyes began to fade.
“Damn it, I never thought I would die in Atraria!”
Blood continued to spurt uncontrollably from his chest. Felix made no effort to stop it; a shattered heart meant imminent death.
Felix’s expression of disbelief turned into one of extreme resentment. He glared at Leo with a face twisted in hatred.
“Even if I can’t kill you, I’ll take your people with me!” Felix looked down.
On the ground, as the Tarot Demon Card shattered, blue snakes emerged from the foreheads of Harrison, Meigetsu, and others, then dissipated.
They all spat out mouthfuls of blood, their breaths weakening. However, the vacant look in their eyes began to clear up.
Felix’s blood-red fur stood on end as if ignited. His enormous body then plummeted like a cannonball towards the ground below.
Leo realized that Felix intended to self-destruct by burning his essence blood. Below, Harrison and the others were just regaining consciousness and were in no state to defend or dodge. In other words, they were certain to die in Felix’s explosion.
In a flash, Leo used a Wind Talisman, channeling all his spiritual power to dive downwards.
“Wretches, join me in hell! This is my final gift to you!” Felix’s voice was filled with despair and madness.
Just a few meters above the ground, Felix’s massive wolf body exploded with a force akin to a small nuclear blast, shaking the earth and obliterating everything around it with a powerful shockwave.
At the moment of the explosion, Leo appeared in front of Harrison and the others. The blinding explosion illuminated Leo’s slightly pale face and his resolute eyes. He spread his arms wide, unleashing all his spiritual power to shield them.
The shockwave engulfed everything…
After a long while, the dust settled. The devastation slowly became visible. At the forefront stood a figure covered in dust, standing firm and unyielding.
Leo’s face was pale as he spat out a mouthful of blood. Though he had successfully protected Harrison and the others, he was injured and nearly drained of spiritual power.
“Leo!”
“Mr. Bloomer…!”
Harrison and the others had regained their senses. Seeing Leo coughing up blood in front of them, their expressions changed with concern.
“Don’t worry about me; I’m fine.” Leo slowly turned to face them. “Thank you all for your help this time.”
Without Harrison and the others, it would have been difficult to deal with these werewolves at such a low cost.
“Leo, you’re too kind. These werewolves dared to wreak havoc on Atraria; they deserved to die!” Harrison said with a smile.
Felix’s self-destruction and Leo’s unhesitating protection had deeply moved Harrison, who was used to life-and-death situations.
“Fighting these werewolves has been quite rewarding for me as well; you needn’t be so polite,” Holden said, though his face was still somewhat pale, his eyes were full of spirit.
At a certain level of martial arts cultivation, every life-and-death battle is an excellent opportunity for enlightenment. In other words, real combat situations greatly aid breakthroughs in cultivation.
“After today’s battle, I feel like I’m close to breaking through my bottleneck!” Aimee said joyfully.
Though Harrison and the others spoke lightly of it, Leo would remember today’s events in his heart. After a brief rest, Leo began to survey his surroundings. Everything nearby had turned into ruins; many trees were destroyed, and werewolf corpses littered the ground.
As for Leo’s side, aside from some casualties among the Coleman family’s fire guards, there were no significant losses.
“Mr. Bloomer, should we burn these werewolf corpses?” Theodore suggested.
Leo nodded. It wouldn’t be good for ordinary people to see these werewolf bodies.
Immediately, Theodore, Elder Serene, and others began burning the werewolf corpses. Leo’s gaze shifted to the Bloodaxe embedded in the ground. He walked over and picked it up. Although the Bloodaxe wasn’t particularly useful to Leo, he couldn’t let it fall into werewolf hands.
He stored the Bloodaxe in his storage bag. Including Alse’s Dagger from before, Leo now possessed two Wolf Tribe sacred artifacts. Additionally, he had destroyed two other Wolf Tribe sacred artifacts: the Resurrection Stone and the Tarot Demon Card.
At the resort, flames rose high as the werewolf corpses quickly turned to ashes in the intense fire. The Thunder Wing Beast and Golden Eagle descended from the sky.
“Let’s go back,” Leo said as he leaped onto the Thunder Wing Beast’s back. Harrison, Meigetsu, and others also mounted the Golden Eagle. The Thunder Wing Beast and Golden Eagle took off, heading back to Seven Stars Sword Sect.
At Seven Stars Sword Sect’s Martial Arts Square, Jennifer, Violet, and others who hadn’t participated in the battle waited quietly. There was a hint of worry in their eyes. Despite having experts from both Iron Sword Sect and Coleman family on their side, their opponent was still a Wolf Tribe prince with formidable power.
“Jennifer, Leo is very strong; they’ll come back safely,” Violet said as she looked at Jennifer.
Jennifer nodded with her beautiful eyes full of concern. At that moment, several large birds appeared in the distant sky flying towards them.
“Jennifer, look! It’s Leo and the others!” Violet pointed excitedly at the sky.
Jennifer’s face lit up with joy as her heart finally settled. Soon, the Thunder Wing Beast and Golden Eagle landed in Martial Arts Square amidst cheers from Seven Stars Sword Sect disciples.
“We’re back!” Leo announced loudly as he jumped off the Thunder Wing Beast.
“Leo, did you kill those werewolves?” Violet ran up to him and asked.
“Of course,” Leo replied with a smile.
After briefly explaining what had happened to Jennifer and Violet, Leo instructed everyone to rest and recuperate. He then headed to Spirit Crocodile Cliff at the back mountain. Today’s battle had taken a significant toll on him. However, every major battle was also a training opportunity that greatly benefited his understanding and cultivation progress.
