Chapter 172: Why Is He Backing Her?

“Bianc, something feels odd today. It’s like everyone’s gone crazy,” Diana said, unable to conceal her amazement. To her, Brandon had always been a dream guy.
‘Now he was here to perform? It seemed unreal.’
Bianca playfully put her arm around Diana’s shoulder and raised an eyebrow in curiosity. “Maybe he’s here just for you.”
“For me?” Diana pointed to herself, her voice filled with disbelief as she looked at Brandon. “No, that can’t be…”
“I barely know him. There’s no reason he’d be here for me. It just doesn’t add up. He’s closer to you. Why else would he suddenly show up and offer to sing?” Bianca pondered aloud, trying to make sense of it.
Diana felt a flicker of hope. Could Brandon really be here for her?
Meanwhile, Nicolas observed Brandon closely. Despite being brothers, their relationship was a secret known only to those closest to them.
In public, they behaved as strangers.
With all the guests seated, Bianca signaled the beginning of the ceremony.
The usual formalities and speeches concluded swiftly.
Surprisingly, Brandon replaced the singer originally booked by Bianca. Brandon walked confidently to the center of the stage as the audience cheered. Dressed casually in a stylish suit, his charm was undeniable.
Sitting cross-legged with a guitar in hand, Brandon flashed a captivating smile at the camera, setting hearts racing throughout the room.
“My latest album will be released next month. Today, I’m thrilled to perform the title track for the first time, exclusively for all of you.”
Whenever Brandon announced a new album, it was always a big deal. His fans had patiently awaited his new music. Now, with news of his title track debut, excitement soared, quickly becoming the top trending topic.
This topic gained more popularity than Natalie’s promoted content.
“I don’t care about a Twitter membership now. Missing Brandon’s new album debut would be a mistake.”
“Forget Twitter. I rarely use it anyway. Missing Brandon’s album debut would be a regret.”
“I wish I could be there in person. Hearing it through a screen just isn’t the same.”
Bianca’s livestream suddenly became incredibly popular, drawing even Natalie’s fans. Brandon’s local supporters started arriving in taxis, causing a traffic jam around Bianca’s company entrance.
Soon, the area was packed with people. It felt like a concert was taking place right there.
Passersby couldn’t resist joining in. Whether they had a Twitter membership or not, everyone gathered around Bianca’s company to watch Brandon perform a song from his upcoming album.
Even Natalie’s fans found themselves captivated by Brandon’s performance.
“Natalie, what’s going on with Brandon and Bianca? Why is he backing her?” Ashley couldn’t make sense of it. She thought involving Natalie would surely challenge Bianca and make her look bad.
Ashley hadn’t anticipated Bianca’s event, which had drawn such high-profile guests and turned into what felt like a concert.
This was completely unexpected for Ashley.
At that moment, Natalie’s usually composed attitude faded. She had arrived to undermine Bianca, but now it seemed the tables had turned, and she felt embarrassed instead.
Bianca’s side was now teeming with influential figures and celebrities. Natalie felt outnumbered, facing them all alone.
In frustration, Natalie clenched her fists, glaring at Ashley. “This is all because of you,” she snapped. “You pushed me into this fan meeting, and now we’ve inadvertently boosted Bianca and made ourselves look foolish.”
“Natalie… I never expected Bianca to gather so many influential supporters. But don’t worry. The best is yet to come,” Ashley replied, her eyes narrowing.
Peter and Stacey were on their way, delayed only by the traffic.
Meanwhile, Brandon began singing his new song with heartfelt passion. His voice was so mesmerizing that it captivated everyone.
Fans and onlookers nearby raised their hands and swayed along with the music. The once bustling square fell silent, all drawn in by Brandon’s performance.
Brandon’s audience outnumbered Natalie’s fan meeting crowd twofold, making Natalie’s gathering seem rather small in comparison.
Brandon’s new song “Infatuation” swiftly dominated major media headlines and trended online.
The team at Eastview Television Network regretted their decision. If they had anticipated this, they would have covered Bianca’s event live to capitalize on its success.
Now, Twitter was reaping all the benefits, while Eastview Television Network suffered from a declining viewer count.
From the edge of the stage, Diana gazed at Brandon’s handsome and gentle profile. As he sang under the sunlight, he radiated a captivating aura of relaxation and nobility. He was incredibly charming and mesmerizing to watch.
Brandon not only honored the opening ceremony with his presence but also performed “Infatuation.”
Watching him sing, Diana couldn’t help but wonder if Brandon’s heartfelt performance of the song was somehow meant for her.
Diana had never felt so excited before; her heart was beating fast.
When the song ended, everyone clapped loudly.
“That was amazing! It touched my heart!”
“Brandon is awesome. I’m his biggest fan!”
People around her admired Brandon. Diana felt overwhelmed, imagining Brandon singing just for her.
It would be nice if he could sing a song just for her someday.
After Brandon’s performance, while the audience still enjoyed the moment, a middle-aged couple pushed through the crowd towards the stage despite objections. They drew angry stares.
“Who are these people? How rude!”
“Why are they pushing through like that? They should just wait.”
“They should be ashamed of themselves!”
Bianca squinted to see the commotion’s cause-it was Peter and Stacey. Why were they arriving so late?
Earlier, Peter and Stacey had watched Bianca’s company’s grand opening on a livestream. Peter was surprised, hardly believing his daughter could organize such a big event with so many important guests.
At first, he was angry, but as they drove, his anger faded as he realized he might have underestimated Bianca’s abilities.
Meanwhile, Stacey was jealous and furious.
Seeing Peter’s impressed and proud reaction to the livestream, she felt like she needed to do something.
“Peter, if Bianca’s doing so well, why doesn’t she help out with your company? She could use her wealthy friends to solve your problems. I think she’s afraid we’ll be a burden to her. Maybe that’s why she wanted you to cut ties before. Now she’s got what she wanted,” Stacey said, provoking Peter’s anger again.
Peter was determined to talk seriously with Bianca.
But before he could say anything, Stacey stepped forward boldly, staring at Bianca. “Bianca, your opening ceremony looks really fancy. It must have cost a lot.”
Bianca chuckled lightly in response, “Actually, it’s pretty modest compared to what you’ve taken from our family all these years.”
Stacey’s face darkened with anger. Then, she turned to the crowd and suddenly burst into tears, her voice choked with emotion. “Listen, everyone. Our daughter has been heartless. She used money meant for our family’s needs to support her lover, causing huge financial losses to her father’s business. She’s started her own business and hosted this fancy event with no regard for her own family. She even cut ties with her father right before this grand opening, fearing we’d hold her back. How can a daughter be so cruel?”
