AZAR’S POV
“Oh wow, so where are the dresses? Show it to us too.” I looked at everyone, and they all had a curious and happy look on their faces, and I internally facepalmed myself.
Grandfather said it had some fitting issues, so Ara has sent them back with her assistant for the fitting. ” Now add one more.
They all nodded in agreement, and I took a relieved breath.
‘Dude, this was close, I thought.
After some time, I told them to go home. I will take care of Ara, but her mom denied it and said, “No, I will stay here with her.”
I nodded in agreement and asked Aunt Nina to show everyone their room.
Her mom again denied it and said she would stay in Ara’s room only in case she needed anything during the night.
Look at her, admire her selflessness, and nod in agreement.
All retired to their rooms, but my mind was on this incident only.
Who wants to kill her? Or maybe this was for me?
I was twisting and turning in my bed today. My thoughts are not in my control, and I kept on thinking about who did this and why.
I was getting restless, and only one thing could give me peace of mind-that’s her!
I thought that I went to my room, where she was sleeping peacefully. I knock on the door twice, open the door, and there she is, sleeping peacefully.
Her face was shining like a twinkling star in the moonlight coming from the window, and she was looking so innocent, like a newborn baby.
She has a small pout on her lips, and her few hair strands are on her face. Looking at her small smile, a smile crept onto my face.
I notice her mom sleeping beside her.
I went to her side and sat on the chair, and I dragged the chair slowly near her bed.
Holding her hand, I stroked my thumb on it and thought, How am I going to live these remaining days without you, my queen? huh
I kept on looking at her and did not know when sleep took over.
The morning, I woke up, I felt someone touching my jaw.
I flicked my eyes a few times to get a clear view and notice the most beautiful face in my life.
My Queen.
Sitting on the bed, resting her head on the headboard, and looking at me. She smiled at me and said, “Good morning, sir.”
I look at her, then at her mom’s side, and again at her. She answered my unasked questions and said, “Mom has gone home to bring my clothes.”
I nodded, got up from my chair, sat beside her, and asked her, “How are you feeling, My Queen?”
She gave me her best smile and said, “I am fit and fine to see,” and gestured to herself.
I looked at her for a second, then hugged her like my life depended on her and nuzzled her.
And of course, there is no denying that my life depends on her. And I discovered this yesterday.
She hugged me back and started petting my back as if trying to say she was okay.
“You scared me, my queen.” I said,
She broke the hug and said, “Really? Dammit, don’t tell me I miss your scared look.” And give me a playful look.
I know she is trying to lighten my mood, but she does not know her mare’s smile brightens my world.
I shook my head and checked my watch at 9 a. m. and said, “Now come on, get up, and freshen up. You must be hungry.”
She nodded in agreement, got up, and went towards the washroom.
I went out to give her some privacy.
After taking a shower in another room, I again went to my room and noticed her making a bun in her hair and looking towards the mirror, looking fresh as a flower.
“You took a shower already?” I asked her.
“Yes, Mom has sent my clothes to Aunt Nina.”
I nodded and said, “Ok, now let us go. You need to eat something before you take your medicine.
She nodded and started walking with me.
Once we reached the dining room, we noticed Grandfather and Aunt Nina were sitting at the table. And maybe done with their breakfast, I guess.
Looking at them, she chirped, “Good morning, Grandfather and Aunt Nina.”
They both smiled at her and replied, “Good morning.”
“How are you feeling, princess?” Grandfather asked her, and concern was visible in his eyes and in his voice.
“I am fit and fine, Grandfather,” she said, giving them her best smile.
And I know she is anything but fine. The doctor has told me she will feel pain someday in her stomach, and she needs to eat light food as much as possible for a few days.
House helped serve her porridge, and I had to control my laugh after seeing the expression on her face, but at the same time, I felt bad for her too.
“Aunt Nina, I cannot eat this, please,” she said while making some faces.
But Aunt Nina being Aunt Nina She shook her head and said, “No, princess, today I will not take any excuse. The doctor mentioned that you both must eat light food for a few days, and there is no way out of this. Am I clear to both of you?” I know Aunt Nina can be strict if she wants to.
I nodded and looked at her, and she was making her best puppy face to convince Aunt Nina, but I knew better. Nothing could change Aunt Nina’s decision right now.
I smiled a little, bowing my head towards my bowl, and started eating. After making some fuss, she finally ate.
“Sire,” Hearing this, I looked up and noticed James’s pale face, and I knew something was serious.
“Wait in my study,” I ordered. He bowed his head and left the room.
