Chapter 423: The Finale Item!

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-7-22

“Congratulations to this gentleman for acquiring Eternal Love! Wishing you and your beloved a lifetime of happiness,” the host said, ending with a flattering remark that drew applause from the audience.
Charlotte gently pinched Quentin’s waist. “You really bought it?”
“Of course. I said I would buy it for you, and I did. When have I ever lied to you?”
Charlotte’s eyes were filled with playful reproach but also happiness. “But what if we can’t resell Eternal Love later? We spent over thirty million on it. Are we just going to let it sit idle?”
“Why don’t we try to resell it? Maybe we can get some money back, though I doubt anyone would buy it for over thirty million. The price is too high.” Charlotte frowned slightly.
“The gift I give you doesn’t need to be resold. I’m not pretending to be rich. Just keep it and use it. Don’t overthink it, okay?”
Charlotte felt touched by his words. However, she still thought about reselling it someday. Letting something worth over thirty million sit idle was hard for her to accept. Quentin’s intention was what mattered.
Meanwhile, Nash watched from across the room, his face darkening as he stared intently at them, his gaze unfriendly. He focused on Quentin, seemingly deep in thought.
Nash had assumed that after the Howard family went bankrupt, Quentin wouldn’t have much money left. But today, Quentin spent over thirty million in one go, which was unexpected.
“It seems this guy still has some resources. This won’t be easy,” Nash thought. “But so what?” He sneered. Quentin’s current wealth was just pocket money left by his parents.
In the end, he was just living off his parents. He had no real abilities. Nash, on the other hand, was the head of Marblegate Group in Chulae, controlling billions of dollars and capable of influencing Stresall’s economy. Even large corporations had to show him respect.
What did Quentin amount to in comparison? Nash felt extreme disdain for Quentin.
“Do you think you can compete with me for something I want?” he muttered coldly.
Though Charlotte seemed affectionate with Quentin now, Nash believed he had a hundred ways to create a rift between them. When it came to scheming, who could match him?
With this thought, his expression improved, gradually regaining composure. The immediate priority was to acquire Time Group; personal matters could wait.
In the VIP room, Virginia scoffed at seeing Quentin spend millions on Eternal Love for Charlotte.
“You are generous with her,” she muttered. “But for something worth billions, you still need my help.”
She felt exasperated and conflicted. Quentin had borrowed money from her to bid on Time Group and then turned around and gave it to Charlotte. Was there anything more absurd?
Virginia couldn’t believe she found herself in such a situation. She had plenty of admirers, including wealthy heirs and promising young talents from various fields, all vying for her attention. Yet she had always been indifferent or even repulsed by them.
Who would have thought that she, Virginia, would end up feeling so humble? Love truly defied logic.
As she pondered this, the host on stage announced, “Next, we present today’s finale item-”
“The equity of Time Group, starting at two billion dollars!”
Hearing this, the audience’s eyes lit up with excitement. This was the most valuable item of the night, starting at two billion dollars! It was beyond their wildest dreams.
But since there was a good show tonight, they wouldn’t miss it for the world. After all, such opportunities were rare…
