Chapter 1380: To Greenmount

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-7-21

“Alright, there are many treasures in the Greenmount Secret Realm. It is said that the most powerful treasure can only be used by someone with the bloodline of the Spirit Fox Clan.”
“So if that senior goes in with me, he will definitely get that treasure. That’s why I don’t want to go in with my kind.”
“Then why don’t you take your Harper in with you?”
“Nowadays, the Greenmount Secret Realm is not as peaceful as it used to be. It is said to be filled with various dangers. My current cultivation level is too low. If I go in alone, I might never come out.”
At this point, Hannah’s mood became somewhat gloomy.
If her cultivation were strong enough, she wouldn’t need to ask this human in front of her for help.
“Alright, let me think about it.”
Just then, a cold shout came from behind the villa: “What kind of demon is sneaking around here? Show yourself!”
Leo and Hannah exchanged glances, knowing that the snake demon had arrived.
Hannah stood up from the sofa, looking slightly nervous. “I’m sorry, big brother, I lied to you earlier.”
“…” Leo.
“Big brother, there is no Hailey. The snake demon wants to eat me just to steal my Divine Moon Bead,” Hannah said with some embarrassment.
A fox is a fox; you never know which of their words are true and which are false. This little girl has started lying at such a young age; who knows what she’ll be like when she grows up.
Now it seems that what she said about the Greenmount Secret Realm might also be partly false. It’s better to stay cautious.
Leo gave her an annoyed look and disappeared from the living room in a flash.
Hannah and the black fox quickly followed him outside.
Behind the villa, not far from the foot of the mountain, Maggie was fighting a python as thick as a bowl.
The python looked very strange, with black and red spiral patterns on its body.
Its head was triangular and very large, looking like an oversized mutant tadpole from a distance.
Maggie’s combat power was about the same as the python’s, so they were evenly matched for a while.
The appearance of Leo and the other two caught the python’s attention, especially Hannah’s appearance, which made the python’s eyes glow red.
In contrast, Hannah looked at the python with fear. Seeing Maggie and the python locked in a fierce battle, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
If ghost spirits were so powerful, then her master, the man beside her, must be even more powerful. There was no doubt about it.
It seemed that today she could finally get rid of this troublesome python. Hannah looked at Leo with a special sparkle in her eyes.
Leo didn’t rush to make a move; he wanted to see if Maggie could handle this strange python on her own.
With a “snap,” a black whip lashed out from Maggie’s hand and struck the python.
The python let out a strange cry and was sent flying five or six meters away into a flower bush.
The python was smart; it knew it couldn’t win today. After landing in the flower bush, it turned around and fled.
Maggie snorted coldly and was about to give chase when Leo stopped her. “Maggie, don’t chase it.”
Though unwilling, Maggie couldn’t disobey Leo’s order. She stopped and looked back at Leo in confusion.
Hannah was not happy about this. She pouted and said discontentedly, “Why did you let the snake demon go? It was injured; it was the perfect time to kill it!”
Leo smiled mysteriously. “All creatures have spirits. Whether it’s a snake demon or not, taking its life goes against the natural order.”
“If you don’t kill the snake demon, it will kill me. Letting it go is like killing me!” Hannah was very angry, her logic quite unique.
“As long as I’m here to protect you, what’s there to fear? If the snake demon dares to come back, I’ll beat it every time until it’s scared off!”
Hannah was speechless. She glanced at Leo with her fox eyes, wondering if he had deliberately let the snake demon go.
Leo indeed let the strange snake go on purpose. The fox girl was too clever; he couldn’t let her control everything. With the snake demon around, at least she would be somewhat restrained.
Leo had already decided to go to the Greenmount Secret Realm mentioned by the little fox.
Although this would delay his return to Langstel by a few days, it was an opportunity not to be missed.
Led by Hannah, one man and two foxes set off for Greenmount.
According to Hannah, Greenmount was located within Wuhe County in Jiangming City.
Upon arriving at Greenmount, Leo was quite disappointed.
He had thought that the legendary Greenmount would be a place of natural beauty or at least an area with a pleasant environment. But it turned out to be a desolate wilderness.
“Disappointed? My mother said that three hundred years ago, this place was beautiful and could be called a paradise on earth,” Hannah said with a look of longing in her eyes.
After a brief moment of disappointment, Leo didn’t feel much anymore. After all, his purpose here was to enter that secret realm, not to enjoy the scenery.
“There’s nothing here. Where is this secret realm you mentioned?”
“Don’t worry, follow me.” Hannah said as she walked ahead along a dirt road, with the black fox excitedly bouncing around her.
After walking for about ten minutes, they came upon a small mound.
Hannah stopped in front of the mound and chanted something unintelligible before forming a seal with her hands and pointing at the mound.
The mound slowly disappeared, and a faint blue ripple appeared in the air. Then a moon-shaped archway materialized in front of them.
So there was more to this place than met the eye. Interesting.
Entering through the moon-shaped archway, Leo saw an enormous villa.
The villa was surrounded by lush greenery and well-maintained gardens, looking like a large park rather than the previous desolation.
In front of the villa was a stone gate with two gilded characters on its plaque-Greenmount.
Looking at the stone gate, Hannah’s expression became quite complex.
Leo released his spiritual sense and quickly sensed a strong demonic aura.
“Hannah, you really have many kindred spirits.”
In this day and age, Leo had always thought demons were rarer than pandas. Today he realized that wasn’t true; demons were just very good at hiding.
“Though they are my kindred spirits, they are not of my lineage nor share my heart.” Hannah said this with some sadness. Such an expression on her young face seemed quite out of place.
“Big brother, let’s go inside.” Hannah said as she led them through the gate.
They walked up to the villa’s front door without seeing a single fox or human-turned-fox. The entire area around the villa was eerily quiet.
Leo also noticed several surveillance cameras around the villa. Clearly, the villa’s owner knew there were outsiders here.
Hannah didn’t knock or ring the doorbell but instead made a strange call.
