“Sebastian? Why do you come in? Get out! The mastermind will cancel the meeting if he finds out I’m with someone,” Gabriella urged in a low voice. The innocent woman was not suspicious of the man’s relaxed expression.
“Take it easy. He will not cancel the meeting. Isn’t he in the living room?”
“Yes, he ….”
The woman’s words were suddenly interrupted by common sense. With a quick blink under the furrowed brows, she tilted her head. “How did you know that the terror was waiting for me in the living room?”
The corners of the lips that were originally high suddenly dropped. “Did I hear wrong? That’s what the maid just said to you.”
While pondering, Gabriella looked at the secretary with a worry on her forehead. “Then, wait here. I don’t want your presence to anger the mastermind.”
Sebastian’s lips pursed spontaneously. Two seconds later, unexpectedly, he reached out to touch Gabriella’s hair. The woman reflexively dodged by shortening her neck.
“What are you doing?” the innocent woman asked with a pinched voice.
“Just wanted to calm you down. Is it not allowed?”
Gabriella’s hand gripped the strap of her bag tighter. “I appreciate your kindness, but please respect me as your cousin’s wife. I don’t think this is the right time to talk about it. I have to get to the mastermind immediately.”
After glancing at the clock, Gabriella turned towards the direction the maid had previously indicated.
However, only twice had she swung her leg, Sebastian’s question had stopped her step.
“Are you still not aware?”
The woman turned her head with a slightly raised brows. “Aware of what?”
“That you have forgotten our promise,” the secretary said, taking a step forward. Unknowingly, Gabriella began to move backwards.
“What do you mean, Bass? We never make promises,” the woman shook her head in disbelief.
The corners of Sebastian’s lips lifted in a sneer. “What if at our next meeting, you give me that sweet kiss too? Or do you want to serve me in bed? I’d be happier.”
The woman’s eyes suddenly became tense. With eyes wide open, she watched the movement of the man getting closer. “W-why did you suddenly say that?” she probed through the pinched vocal cords.
The grin on the secretary’s face suddenly turned into a chuckle. “You’re so adorable, Gaby. I can’t wait to have complete control over you.”
Gabriella’s breath began to roar. Her chest felt hot from the irregular impact of the air. “No kidding, Bass! I am your cousin’s wife.”
Suddenly, the man grabbed both of her arms. “Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to hurt, but have you. Let me make you my queen. Didn’t I tell you that in the end, everything Max has will be mine?”
Tears welled up in the eyes for a moment. “So, you are the bad guy, aren’t you?” Gabriella sighed with a pale face.
“Yes. I am the bad guy who sent those threat messages. Why does it take you so long to recognize me? Now, how about we have some fun? You can be my queen from tonight on.”
Seeing Sebastian target her lips, the woman began to struggle. As much as possible, she escaped from the grip. Unfortunately, before Gabriella had time to attack the man’s weak point, she was already pressed against the wall.
“Stop it!” the woman shrieked with her eyes closed as the secretary managed to get his neck. “Please, let me go!”
Unfortunately, Sebastian had harbored a passion for too long. The man didn’t care about the tears streaming down the woman’s face. Roughly, he pushed Gabriella to lie on the long sofa.
“No! Don’t touch me!” the woman groaned while pressing the shoulder that was trying to cling to her.
“Come on, Gaby, treat me like how you serve that arrogant CEO!”
Horror flowed more heavily on the woman’s face. Out of breath, she tried to call for succor, “Help! Help …!”
Hearing Gabriella’s frightened voice, Sebastian’s laughter immediately boomed. “You’re free to scream. No one will save you. You are destined to be mine.”
Paying no heed to the man’s words, Gabriella continued to rebel and scream. The longer it went, the weaker it got. Her body was being touched more and more by the bad guy. Realizing her defeat, the woman began to despair.
“Why are you doing this to me? I am never mean to you. I never even knew you before. But why do you keep bullying me?”
Sebastian didn’t answer. The man had been swayed by Gabriella’s tenderness. Actually, he could enjoy the woman’s shoulder for minutes.
“Aren’t you satisfied with taking my house? My freedom? My happiness?” Gabriella’s voice also began to weaken, pressed by sobs. “Please, stop.”
Feeling hopeless, the woman closed her eyes. While continuing to fight as best she could, she whispered regret to her husband. “Sorry for going against your orders. I’m not supposed to meet the mastermind alone.”
Unexpectedly, a maid ran up to them. Hesitating, the young woman called out to the secretary.
“Forgive me, Sir. Master is waiting for the lady in the living room.”
Sebastian’s actions suddenly stopped. With a look of displeasure, the man turned to the maid. “But I haven’t finished my task yet,” he said as Gabriella tried to fix the clothes.
“But, Master already asked this lady to see him now.”
In an instant, the secretary’s jaw throbbed and his eyes closed. “Alright, tell him to wait for a minute.”
Without stalling for time, Sebastian moved away from the woman he was targeting. Witnessing the man’s annoyed expression, a big question mark instantly appeared in Gabriella’s mind.
“What is going on? Is there anyone else? Who wants to meet me and keep Sebastian from moving?”
Seeing the woman blinking with mouth open, the secretary snorted while rolling his eyes.
“Hurry up! Aren’t you going to meet the person who wants to destroy your husband?”
Gabriella’s frown automatically deepened. After several breaths, she straightened her clothes and wiped her face.
As soon as the woman got up and picked up the bag from the floor, Sebastian swung his hand toward a door.
“Aren’t you the mastermind? Then, who will I meet?” Gabriella sighed with round eyes and still red nose.
The cold-looking man tilted his head. “Do you think that the threat sender and mastermind are one person?”
The woman immediately gasped and her eyes fluttered. “There’s another person who want to destroy Max,” she sighed in disbelief.
“Don’t forget to thank him. He saved you from me,” Sebastian said with an eyebrow raised. “Hurry up and meet him or I will completely devour you.”
Receiving such a threat, Gabriella’s feet immediately moved to meet the invitation. The closer she was to the living room, the faster her heart beat. He had absolutely no idea who was there.
“Is Julian the mastermind? But, for what reason did he have the heart to destroy his own brother? Could it be because of jealousy?” the woman guessed while sighing faintly.
As soon as Gabriella entered the room, her feet immediately stopped moving. For a few seconds, the woman’s mouth was wide open, just as her eyes couldn’t believe what they saw.
“H-how is this possible ….”
After one quick breath, consciousness moved her eyelids again. With indecisive swing of her legs, Gabriella approached the person who was staring at her without a smile.
“Good evening, Miss Gabriella. Or …, should I call you Mrs. Evans?”
The woman spontaneously gulped. However, no matter how hard she tried to move her tongue, her lips still trembled without a word.
