At this moment, Leo did not have the favorable geographical position or the necessary tools to release the essence of the True Dragon Bone. It seemed he would have to find another opportunity to do this later.
After putting the True Dragon Bone back into his Storage Bag, Leo released the ghost spirit. This time, the ghost spirit stood in front of him instead of lying on the ground, still completely naked. Leo found himself in an awkward situation, unsure whether to look or not.
The ghost spirit looked at Leo, placed her right hand over her left hand at her left waist, and slightly bent her right knee, bowing gracefully. “Thank you, Master, for saving my life.”
Leo knew she was referring to him killing the anaconda and releasing her. Trying to avert his gaze, Leo cleared his throat and asked, “Uh, don’t you have any clothes to wear?”
“Master, I can create clothes,” the ghost spirit replied.
“Then put some on,” Leo said.
The ghost spirit spun around, and a white ancient dress appeared on her body. Her form was virtual, and so were her clothes, like a three-dimensional hologram.
Leo looked at her directly and asked, “Why didn’t you dissipate after being eaten by the anaconda?”
“Master, the anaconda didn’t actually eat me. It imprisoned me within its body to control me and make me commit evil deeds to aid its cultivation,” the ghost spirit explained with a fearful expression.
Leo pondered for a moment and then sat down. “Now that you are free, I will send you to the underworld.”
The ghost spirit’s face turned pale with fear as she pleaded, “Master, please spare me.”
Ghost spirits could not reincarnate. Essentially, they were spirits that had achieved some level of cultivation due to certain circumstances. The underworld had strict order, and ghost spirits were not welcomed there. If a ghost spirit encountered an underworld official, they would be absorbed to enhance the official’s power.
Thus, ghost spirits generally avoided the underworld and hid in the human world to cultivate. However, the human world was not as conducive to their cultivation as the underworld. Without resorting to evil methods, their progress would be slow.
Leo considered this and slowly said, “I killed the anaconda and unintentionally saved you, creating a bond between us. I can’t let you roam freely in the human world, but if you refuse to go to the underworld, it puts me in a difficult position.”
“Master, I am willing to serve you as a maid to repay your great kindness,” the ghost spirit said sincerely.
Leo nodded slightly, maintaining an air of detachment. “I am not forcing you.”
“It is my own choice,” the ghost spirit said as she knelt before Leo. “Maggie pays her respects to Master.”
So her name was Maggie. Leo quickly gestured for her to stand. “No need for that, get up.”
Maggie obediently stood up and lowered her head slightly as she stood beside him. Leo looked her up and down and felt increasingly satisfied. Having a ghost spirit as a maid was indeed a delightful prospect.
“Maggie, what year were you born? Where is your hometown? What did you do when you were alive?” Leo asked.
Maggie replied, “I was born in the eighteenth century and grew up in an official’s family.”
So Maggie was a noble lady from three hundred years ago. Including her time as a ghost spirit, she was over three hundred years old.
“How did you become a ghost spirit?” Leo asked again.
Maggie’s face showed sadness and anger. “Because of a Literary Inquisition.”
