JASMINE
The sky had taken on an orange hue when I finally got out of Mark’s grasp, and he wasn’t kidding when he made the remark about me not being able to use my legs in the middle of our rendezvous. My entire body was slack, totally worn, and even my legs wobbled as I got out of bed, and I even considered skipping my meeting with the girls, but this was important. I needed to deliver the message to them so they could get prepared and if I should miss this opportunity, it would go to the head of slaves, who would no doubt appoint different girls, thus ruining any opportunity Eleanor might’ve had of seeing or talking to Easton.
This was an opportunity we couldn’t miss, a very essential part of our entire plan. I was sick and tired of life here, forced into servitude with no free will. I missed my life before. I missed who I was before it all went to shit. I was a beta and a warrior, but now I can’t even remember when last I held a sword, the feeling of that cold, hard metal in my hand, the clash of it with an enemy’s in battle, the loud battle cries and roars of my fellow warriors as we charged, leaving blood and gore in our wake.
I missed it, I missed every single bit of it. Being here, a slave in the Blood Moon pack, was limiting my freedom, and I wanted to be free, I wanted to wield a sword again. Every cell in my body missed the adrenaline rush, and it felt like I was wasting away, not doing what I was obviously born to do. I was meant for greater things, to defend and protect the people I held dear on the war fronts, not to scrub floors and wash dishes whilst having to put up with the demeaning remarks and humiliation that came with having to be an object of a man’s entertainment at parties where they force you into scanty dresses and make you pour their drinks.
I could only put up with this for so long until I began to lose it, which is why I needed this to work. I needed to make it work and hand in hand. We would destroy this pack for all its worth. She was now a very important person to me, and I’ve decided to assist with her quest in any way I could, too. I have sworn to kill every single person to ever lay their filthy hands on me, in the form of punishment or otherwise, and when I was done, I would walk out of this pack with my mate’s hand in mine.
I finally made it out of the house on wobbly feet, running my fingers through my hair in a quest to tame the unruly locks and hoping I didn’t look as disheveled as I felt. I had never had sex as intense as this, but it left me feeling sated in every sense of the word. I loved every second of it, being held close by my mate as his whispers, a promise of care and affection held a huge contrast to the punishing pace of his thrusts. I sighed dreamily at the thought of my mate, thinking about how I would still be in his arms in bed had it not been for the message I had for the girls.
My face lit up when I saw Eleanor and Clara together, and I picked up my pace, walking as fast as my unsteady legs could go and on catching sight of me, their expressions brightened too
“You left us stranded, Jasmine,” Eleanor starts in a whine, but stops abruptly to give me a once over, “Are you okay?” she asked, and I hummed, nodding immediately.
“Yes I am. Why wouldn’t I be? I just had a little conversation with my master,” I answered quickly, looking away from her narrowed eyes as I internally panicked at the fact that I probably looked like I had been fucked six ways to Sunday if she could tell by just one look.
“Are you sure?” the girls chorused, with Clara now stepping closer now, and I nodded, taking a small step backwards to try and avoid their scrutiny.
“Yes, of course, guys, focus!” I hurriedly said, my tone taking on a more enthusiastic note. “Now, I have two good news for you guys, or should I say one?” I asked, and Clara moved closer to me.
“Bad or good, pick one. You don’t have to say they are either good or bad,” she stated.
“Well, Easton and Zane decided to sign a truce and -”
“What!!!” They chorused loudly, wide-eyed, and I pursed my lips.
“What do you mean he signed the truce with Zane? Aren’t they supposed to be on opposite sides? That would be the only way he could be on our side! Signing a truce would mean they’re reaching an agreement to support and aid the other, this doesn’t spell good for us!” Eleanor explains in a high-pitched voice, and I nod, sighing.
“I do understand how a truce might look, but I think this could work in our favor,” I informed quietly, and she scoffed.
“How could this possibly work out for us? It’s hopeless if they become allies. He would have no reason to break a truce because of a silly revenge plan.” Eleanor argues, and Clara sighs, dejected.
“I agree with Eleanor. Do you know what will happen when one party breaks a truce? It will lead to war. Do you think Easton wants to risk a war with Zane for no reason? It’s hopeless now. Everything is going to shit.”
“I don’t know what could’ve come over Easton to make him suddenly agree to a truce with Zane, but we’re going to have to find out. We’ll have to confront him and ask him about it.” I informed them and watched as both their faces twisted into a frown.
“How could we possibly do that? We’re not allowed to leave this godforsaken pack and I doubt Easton would have any reason to be here, atleast not unless Zane decides to host some vain party to commemorate the alliance and even if we do get to see him, what’s to say he wouldn’t immediately go to Zane to spill the beans the moment he finds out about our plans.” Clara mumbles, and a smile threatens to stretch onto my face.
“That’s why we have Eleanor,” I informed them, and Eleanor looked at me like I’d grown a second head.
“Did you not hear a single word Clara just said? What do you mean by that? I can’t leave this hellhole, and, like she said, what if he tattles?” she asked, a frown evident on her downturned lips, and I cleared my throat, a grin finally breaking out.
“And that brings me to my second news, Eleanor. In order to commemorate the truce, Zane is sending his beta, Mark, along with some female slaves that I, Jasmine, was instructed to personally oversee, with some gifts. We will be the ones to present the gifts in Zane’s name, and that’s why I’m here, you guys! This is the perfect opportunity. Eleanor, you’re obviously coming with me, and there’s no way you wouldn’t see Alpha Easton that way. Speak to him and try to talk him into joining forces with us!” I urged excitedly and watched as she swallowed.
“Wow…. that’s-” she starts a little breathlessly, “But what if he still hates me after my behavior during our first meeting, I wasn’t exactly the kindest person to him, and now he’s officially one of Zane’s people, there would be no logical reason for him to jeopardize that. I don’t know what to expect, and this is honestly driving me crazy.” she groans out, and I take a step closer.
“You just have to apologize to him for your….. rudeness. As long as you didn’t reject him, then it’s o-”
“I did! I rejected him, but he didn’t accept the rejection,” she cries out, cutting my words short, and Clara nodded, pursing her lips.
“That’s great then!” I cheered, and she gave me a confused look, “He didn’t reject you because he still wants this to work out. He probably thinks you’ll realize your mistake and wants you to come to him. You have to use the mate bond to your advantage, Eleanor. He is but a man, use your charms …seduce him and lay with him if you have to. This is our last resort, Eleanor. He is our last hope, but I will not force you into what you do not want. We could always try to work something out when we pull our thoughts together again, I promise.” I assured her, taking her hands in mine.
Eleanor sucks in a deep breath as she remains silent. She nibbles on her lower lip, teeth digging into the soft flesh and releasing as she pondered on my words. If it was up to me, I wouldn’t hesitate to take my chances, but this was not about me. It was a decision that could change our lives for the better should he agree, and do the exact opposite, maybe even lead to our deaths if Easton really proves to now be loyal to Zane, but still, it was worth a shot.
Her drawn-out sigh pulls me back to the present, and Eleanor now has a small smile on her once-blank face. She squeezes my hands still in hers and takes in a deep breath.
“I am in.”
