Gabriella POV
I dozed off immediately after they injected me with something. I thought I was going to die in that moment, and I cried in my heart because I didn’t get the chance to bid goodbye to Nick and my daughter. If I had known, I would have done everything possible to stay with the witches, Nick, and my daughter.
I had a terrible dream about the future that scared me so much I had to hide from others. However, his smile gave me hope. When I opened my eyes, I noticed I was lying on a bed with Nick by my side. At first, I thought I was still dreaming, but the way he looked at me and spoke to me made it clear he was real. I’m so glad he made it. We talked for a while, and then we ended up making love.
I kept in mind that once I returned to the pack, I would need to resume my training. I wondered which of the witches he brought home would train me to deactivate anything blocking the flow of my magical powers.
I woke up at midnight and saw Nick sleeping soundly. I smiled at him before getting out of bed and taking my seat facing the mirror. I noticed my eyes looked different. What does this mean? I had to look again, and my eyes were normal. Was I hallucinating before? Did I really have wolf eyes, or was it just my imagination? I needed to stop thinking about the impossible and find a way out of this weakness. I refused to be seen as a weak Luna when I returned to the mansion.
Lastly, the girl who spoke rudely to me, the others said she was new. Something tells me she’s a spy. We need to apprehend her quickly to find out her plans and who she’s working for. I’m certain my sister has no hand in this. There’s no way she would do that to me. She promised when we were kids that she would always protect me and never allow anyone to bully or hurt me. I think whoever is behind this either hates me or despises my mate passionately.
I returned to bed to sleep, and Nick’s arms wrapped around me as if he’d missed me during the short time I was off the bed. Looking at his adorable face, I realized how lucky I am to have him in my life. He’s handsome and strong. I placed a kiss on his lips, giggled while looking at him, and then closed my eyes to finally rest. Unfortunately, I ended up having another nightmare.
I screamed, and when I opened my eyes, Nick calmed me down, saying it was just a dream. He told me to get ready, and we would be leaving soon before he left the room. I hope my nightmare doesn’t come true. I really don’t want Estella to witness war. I want her to have a peaceful life, and I believe we can provide that for her. I got ready, and there was a knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
“It’s Jessica.”
Jessica? Don’t tell me she left the witches’ tribe to be with Mateo. Love is so sweet, I must say. I’m happy for her, but it’s unfortunate she’s a witch and he’s a wolf. Hopefully, in the future, they’ll have a chance together.
“Oh, Jessica, come in.” She opened the door, and I hugged her.
“I didn’t expect to see you so soon,” I said with a smile.
“Well, I knew I’d be seeing you soon, and you look good,” she replied, and I smiled.
I remembered the time I was jealous, thinking Nick was cheating on me with her. However, knowing she’s interested in Mateo, I started to like her as a friend. When she helped my daughter, I became friends with her. But I never expected her to come to the pack.
“So, tell me, what brings you here?”
“Well, I will be truthful with you, even if I lied to the guys. I had a vision of you in danger and also the Alpha. I had to come here because visions of a witch must always come to pass. Lastly, I need to make use of the opportunity to be with Mateo.”
“I am glad you came. How are things going with you and Mateo?” She blushed, saying, “Things are going well, but he keeps saying now is not the time for romance.”
“He is just playing hard to get, but trust me, I am certain he loves you and doesn’t know how to accept it.” We laughed about it, and I am happy that she is here because she will be keeping me company. It’s an opportunity to run away from the Luna talking with the ladies and also to avoid dressing up all the time with heels.
“So, are you ready? We need to start leaving now. We have a lot to talk about, you know. I heard you have been marked as well.” She added, and I smiled with a nod.
We stepped out of the motel, and I noticed the way Mateo looked at her. He didn’t even take his eyes off her for a minute. His eyes were fixed on her, and I could tell she is so precious to him. But why is he holding back when he can just confess his love to her? Then they can start dating, and I would love to give them the best wedding ever. I know Nick will also have a unique surprise for them as well.
