Gabriella’s POV
I felt a gentle kiss on my forehead, and as I slowly opened my eyes, I saw Nicklaus holding breakfast. “Good morning, darling,” he greeted me.
I smiled and closed my eyes again, savoring the moment. He kissed me again, and I wished he would just keep kissing me without stopping.
“Good morning, dear,” I replied finally, taking my seat and resting against the bed’s headboard. I let out a loud yawn.
“You could probably swallow the entire pack with just that mouth of yours,” he joked, and I chuckled while accepting the breakfast he offered.
“Thanks for this.”
“The best fashion designer in our pack will come to see you today, so don’t miss me too much.”
“I won’t even miss you,” I retorted playfully, though it wasn’t entirely true.
“I know you’ll miss me anyway. I’ll see you tonight.” He kissed my cheek once more and left the room.
Ever since preparations for the Luna ceremony began, I’ve been meeting various types of ladies. I never knew my mate was once a flirt, but I’m glad he found me. The love he shows me confirms that I’m the one meant for him alone, and he can never love another the way he loves me.
Some of the ladies I’ve met are quite bothersome. They keep asking if Nick is skilled in bed or not. I find it rather odd to answer such questions, but they say the expression on my face speaks volumes.
After finishing my breakfast, I hurried to the bathroom to take a shower before the ladies lined up in my room for the day’s activities.
My room’s door swung open, revealing the ladies, all wearing smiles. They brought in different boxes and luggage, and some even had measuring tapes around their necks.
“Good morning, Luna. We trust you had a good night’s sleep?” one of them asked, her smile radiating warmth.
“Yes, I did.”
“Alright, let’s not waste any time. We have hundreds of dresses for you to try on.”
My eyes widened at the mention of “hundreds of dresses.” “Can’t I just pick what I like instead of going through all this?” I questioned, overwhelmed.
“That’s the tradition. You must try them all, and we’ll select the very best. You’re our Luna, and Luna’s don’t settle for ordinary dresses. It’s our responsibility to choose the best of the best,” they explained, and I reluctantly accepted. After changing into my innerwear, I began trying on the dresses. It was tiring work, and they gave me a massage and a glass of milk to recharge before I continued.
The dresses were exquisite, and I felt like keeping all of them, though it would take me months to wear them all.
“Call in the next batch of clothes.” Wait, does that mean I’ll be trying on another set of clothes? Being a Luna is quite a crazy experience, I must admit.
As I waited for the next batch of dresses, the individuals in charge of the heels arrived.
Using my daughter as an excuse, I managed to get a brief break. I stayed in her room and asked her to lock the door, then collapsed onto her bed, catching my breath.
“Mom, are you okay?”
“Yes, sweetie, I just needed a little break from all of that.”
“Alright, Mom.” She smiled and joined me on the bed.
“So, what were you doing?”
“I was reading.”
“That’s good.”
“Mom, I haven’t met your family yet. When will we visit them, or will they come to visit us?”
Her question wasn’t unexpected, but I needed more time to address it. “Sweetie, can we discuss this after the ceremony?”
“Sure, Mom.”
“Let me let you get back to reading. I’ll check on you later, my precious gem.” I kissed her forehead and ran my fingers through her hair before leaving her room.
As I stepped out, Nick suddenly appeared and took my hand. “Let’s go have some fun before they find us,” he suggested with a mischievous grin.
I smiled and nodded in agreement. He led me to a beautiful garden, and Mateo helped guide us to ensure no one interrupted our time together.
“I’ve missed you so much. I hate being an Alpha sometimes; I don’t get enough time with you,” he confessed, wrapping his arms around me.
“I’ve missed you too. I thought I’d have to go back to face the ladies and try on more dresses, but luckily you came.”
“I’m sorry you had to go through all that stress,” he said, gently caressing me.
“You don’t need to apologize.” Holding his face, I kissed him passionately. Our love blossomed, and we found ourselves making love before returning to our respective duties.
