Alexander’s POV
The weight of the room’s tension hung heavily as I sat there, feeling the weight of responsibility for the pain that my presence had caused. Sophia’s parents, Richard and Anne, were still visibly upset, and Richard’s disappointment had cut deeply. I cleared my throat, trying to find the words to mend the broken trust.
“I want to sincerely apologize once again,” I began, my voice steady but filled with remorse. “I deeply regret any pain and disappointment my actions have caused you, especially Sophia. We didn’t take this decision lightly, and we knew it was time to confess to you, to be honest about our feelings and intentions.”
Richard’s expression was still stern, but there was a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. “Thought long and hard, you say?”
I nodded, my gaze unwavering. “Yes, sir. We knew that our love for each other was strong enough to face whatever challenges might come our way. We’re committed to taking care of Sophia and the children.”
Richard’s gaze shifted to Sophia, his beloved daughter, who sat beside me, her eyes filled with tears. “Sophia, you’ve been through so much, secretly raising these children while being a student. I can’t believe you went through all of this alone.”
Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes, and she reached out to hug her father tightly. “Dad, it was a difficult time, but it’s in the past now. We’re all happy and together, and that’s what matters.”
Richard sighed, his anger slowly giving way to understanding. “I wish you hadn’t felt so lonely and helpless during that time, my dear.”
Sophia’s mother, Anne, placed a comforting hand on her husband’s shoulder. “Richard, we should support Sophia and Alexander now. They’ve made a commitment to each other and these children.”
Her father’s expression softened as he looked at his wife. “You’re right, dear. We can’t change the past, but we can choose how to move forward.”
I felt a surge of gratitude toward Sophia’s parents for their understanding and willingness to forgive. “Thank you, Mr. Turne and Mrs. Turne. Your acceptance means the world to us.”
Anne smiled warmly, her eyes moist with tears. “We may not have expected this turn of events, but we can see how much you love each other and the children. We hope to get to know you better, Alexander, and we would love for Sophia to bring the children to visit us in the future.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Sophia’s eyes welled up with tears of joy, and she threw her arms around her parents. “Thank you, Mom, Dad! You don’t know how much this means to me!”
I watched the family embrace, my heart swelling with gratitude and relief. The path ahead wouldn’t be without its challenges, but knowing that we had the support and acceptance of Sophia’s parents filled me with hope and determination.
We were gathered in Sophia’s parents’ cozy living room, her mother and father both wearing welcoming smiles. It was a moment of happiness, but I couldn’t shake the tension building inside me.
Sophia had been eager to reveal my true identity to her parents. She wanted to share with them the most intimate aspect of our relationship-my existence as a werewolf. I understood her desire for transparency, but I couldn’t ignore the uncertainty of how her parents, who were humans, would react to such a revelation.
As Sophia began to speak, her voice quivering with anticipation, I gently placed a hand on her arm to interrupt. She turned to me, her eyes filled with confusion.
“Alexander, I was about to tell them,” she whispered.
I cleared my throat, trying to find the right words to explain why we couldn’t add more to their emotional load. “I’m sorry, Sophia, but I think we should hold off on discussing that particular matter right now.”
Sophia turned to me, her eyes filled with concern. She knew how important it was for me to keep my identity hidden from humans, especially those who weren’t aware of the supernatural world. “Alexander, are you sure? It’s better that they know everything.”
I shook my head, reaching for her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. “I understand that, but what we’ve just told them is already a lot to process. They need time to digest this. Besides, revealing my true nature might complicate things further.”
Sophia looked torn, her concern for me and her desire for complete honesty warring within her. But she finally nodded in reluctant agreement. “Alright, Alexander, I understand. We can address that issue later.”
I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Sophia was incredibly understanding, but I knew how challenging it could be for humans to accept the supernatural. We had taken a big step tonight, and it was best not to overwhelm her parents any further.
As the evening continued, we shared stories, laughter, and even some tears. Richard and Anne began to ask me about my life, my aspirations, and my commitment to Sophia and the children. It was a chance for them to get to know me, and I welcomed the opportunity to bond with them.
The hours passed quickly, and it was time to bid farewell. Richard shook my hand, his eyes filled with a newfound warmth. “Take good care of my daughter and those precious children, Alexander. You have our blessing.”
I nodded, deeply touched by his words. “I will, sir. Thank you for your understanding and acceptance.”
Anne hugged Sophia tightly, her eyes filled with tears of pride and love. “You’ve grown into such a strong and loving young woman, Sophia. We’re proud of you.”
Sophia hugged her mother back, tears of joy and gratitude in her eyes. “Thank you, Mom. I’m so grateful to have you both in my life.”
As we walked to the car, Sophia squeezed my hand, her smile radiant. “See, I told you everything would be fine. My parents are amazing people.”
I leaned over and kissed her softly, my heart overflowing with love and gratitude. “I love you, Sophia. And I’m so grateful to have you and your incredible parents in my life.”
She smiled, resting her head on my shoulder as we drove into the night.
