Alexander’s POV
The night was dark and moonless as Ethan and I approached the villa where Tyler and Jake, the werewolf hunters, resided. We had spent days tracking their movements, gathering intel on their activities, and now it was time to confront them. As we got closer, the anticipation weighed heavy on my chest. My mind raced with thoughts of what could go wrong.
Ethan and I had no choice but to transform into our wolf forms. It was the only way to breach their defenses without setting off alarms or being detected by their keen senses. With a silent exchange of glances, we shifted, our bodies morphing into the powerful, agile forms of wolves. I felt the fur sprout from my skin, my bones rearranging themselves as I became one with the creature inside me.
Together, we bounded over the high fence that surrounded the villa. Our bodies moved with grace and power, our senses heightened as we navigated the darkness. The adrenaline surged through me, mixing with the primal instincts of the wolf. We were predators on a mission.
Inside the villa, Tyler, Jake, and Sophia were engaged in a heated discussion about the recent werewolf attacks on humans. They were seated in the living room, unaware of our presence. I knew we had to act quickly. Lives were at stake, including the one that mattered most to me.
Just as I was about to make my move, an alarm suddenly blared through the villa. Panic rippled through me as I called out the name of Sophia.
“Sophia!”
Her head snapped toward me, her eyes widening with shock and recognition. It had been a week since we had last seen each other, and her expression told me that she had given up hope of seeing me again. But I was here now, and I wasn’t going to let anything happen to her.
Tyler and Jake, on the other hand, turned in our direction, their eyes narrowing as they spotted us. Their faces contorted with a mix of surprise and anger. They had no idea how we had breached their security, and they were about to find out.
Following our well-thought-out plan, Ethan, in his wolf form, launched himself at Tyler while I sprinted towards Sophia, who was still seated in the living room. My heart ached at the sight of her, and I couldn’t help but think how she deserved so much better than the life she had been thrust into.
I scooped her up in my strong jaws, being gentle not to harm her. She wrapped her arms around my neck instinctively, her scent filling my nostrils and calming the storm of emotions inside me. I could feel her heartbeat against my fur, a reassuring rhythm that told me she was safe.
Ethan and Tyler were locked in a fierce battle, growls and snarls echoing through the villa. It was a brutal fight between two creatures in their prime, both fighting to protect those they cared about. Despite my disdain for Tyler and Jake, I couldn’t deny that they were skilled hunters.
As I held Sophia, my eyes locked onto Jake. He had drawn his weapon, a silver dagger, and was advancing towards us with a determined look in his eyes.
“Stay back!” I growled, my voice a deep, guttural warning.
But Jake didn’t heed my warning. He lunged at us, the glint of the silver blade catching the dim light. Without hesitation, I lunged forward, sinking my teeth into his arm before he could reach Sophia. He cried out in pain, dropping the dagger, which clattered to the floor.
“No, Tyler!”Sophia shouted, “Please, stop.”
Sophia tightened her grip around my neck, and I could feel her trembling. She had witnessed the violence, the harsh reality of the world she had been thrust into. It broke my heart to see her like this, but I knew we had to finish what we had started.
Tyler, now wounded and disoriented from his battle with Ethan, stumbled towards us. He was bleeding, his clothes torn, but he still had fight left in him. I couldn’t allow him to harm Sophia or Ethan.
With Sophia still on my back, I leaped at Tyler, knocking him to the ground. We rolled on the floor, my wolf instincts taking over as I fought to protect Sophia. My teeth found purchase on his shoulder, and he howled in pain.
“Stop!” I snarled at him. “This doesn’t have to end in death.”
Tyler’s eyes bore into mine, and for a moment, I saw a flicker of doubt. Maybe he was realizing the futility of this fight, the senselessness of hunting creatures like us.
Tyler pushed me off him and scrambled to retrieve his fallen dagger. He lunged at me, the blade glinting in the dim light, but before he could strike, a powerful force sent him flying across the room.
“Tyler! damn werewolves, you will pay for this!” Jake exclaimed, looking at Tyler with pain in his eyes. He then charged towards Ethan in anger. However, the injured human Jake was no match for the well-trained werewolf Ethan, who was a warrior among the werewolves.
Ethan had finished his fight with Jake and had come to my aid. With a fierce growl, he pinned Tyler to the ground, his jaws inches from Tyler’s throat. It was a dangerous moment, a standoff that could end in death if any of us made the wrong move.
“Enough,” I said, my voice firm but weary. “We don’t have to kill them.”
Sophia’s grip on my neck tightened even further, and I could feel her silent plea for mercy. She didn’t want any more bloodshed, and I couldn’t blame her.
However, something strange happened. Just when I thought these two werewolf hunters would fail in this battle, they looked at me and Ethan with a contemptuous smile. Then, they took out a small crystal bottle from their pockets, opened the lid, and drank the blue liquid inside.
Mysteriously, their wounds instantly healed, and not only that, but their bones seemed to become stronger. At this moment, their spirits were much stronger than before, as if filled with power. Taking advantage of Ethan’s distraction, Jake delivered a punch to Ethan’s face, sending him flying and crashing into the wall.
