Gabriella’s POV
“You are disturbing me, Omega. Don’t you have jobs to do?” Her voice sounded like that of a scary person, and her eyes were so dark. Her look was filled with hatred. Oh no, what happened to Estella?
“Estella, it’s me, your mother. Talk to me, what is happening to you?” I questioned with tears rolling from my eyes, and she pushed me.
How is this possible? A push from a kid landed me on the floor. Is this her wolf form or something else? No way, I need to be sure the person standing before me is actually my daughter.
“Estella!!” I called again as I tried to stand on my feet, and she gave me an evil smile. “Does it hurt, mother?”
“I know it’s a mistake, and you didn’t mean to hurt me at all.” I said, trying to comfort my daughter, and hugged her. Instead, she started laughing evilly and held my hands saying, “I want to hurt you, Mother. I don’t want a weak mother like you.”
“Stop it, Estella. Get a grip of yourself. I know you are not my daughter. Whatever you have done to her, set her free.” I said, hugging her tightly, and immediately I heard her sobbing. “Mom, I am sorry,” she cried out and I held her even tighter. “It’s okay, baby girl. Everything is going to be fine. I am here for you.” I said, calming her down.
Was my daughter possessed by a spirit or something? Who wants to hurt me by using my only daughter? I need to find out at all costs, but I also need to watch her closely to see if something like this will ever happen again.
I placed her on the bed and caressed her hair as I read her favorite book to her. Then, she started yawning loudly as she fell asleep.
I placed her properly on the bed and stayed beside her. “It’s going to be fine, my little one. I promise you, and I will make sure stuff like this never happens again.” I kissed her cheek.
I searched her room thoroughly to see if there is any dark object present that affected my daughter, but I found nothing at all. Should I tell Margaret about it, or should I wait a little to study Estella?
“What do you think, Leah?”
“Let’s watch her closely. Remember what Martins said yesterday?”
“Yeah, I need to keep an eye on her. Maybe the enemy is among her friends. I think this is exactly what I will do.” I cast a protective spell on my daughter while she was still sleeping before leaving her room.
I thought by now Nate would be home. What is keeping him out there? This is so unlike him.
I stepped out to wait for him, but there was no sign of him at all. “Hey Gabby, want to play with us?”
“Yes, what are we playing?” I questioned.
“The corner game. The one with the gap teeth replied to me, and the others were so excited when I agreed to play with them.
“But I heard the corner game is risky and scary? Like it summons evil spirits.” I explained to them based on my own understanding.
“Not when we have the sunflower present with honey.”
I had already agreed from the beginning. Saying no right now would eventually break their hearts. What do I do now? I can’t risk playing such a game after what happened to my daughter a few moments ago.
“But it’s late. Why don’t we schedule to play another day? I feel so sleepy now, and I had a long day,” I said, acting like I was exhausted, and they understood, leaving immediately.
I returned to my room and sat on the bed, waiting for Nate to return home, when suddenly I fell asleep.
“Mother, please help me. I am so scared.” My daughter cried out to me.
“I am coming to get you. Wait for me.” I tried to break the door that stood as an obstacle, preventing me from reaching my precious daughter.
“Mom, it’s so dark. I want to leave here, mother. Please get me out of here.” She cried out again, and I kept trying so hard to get the door open. But I was powerless to do so. Then I heard her scream.
I opened my eyes and realized everything was a dream. I saw Nick looking at me. Thank goodness it was just a dream. I let out a smile upon seeing he had made breakfast for me. “Good morning, love,” he said with so much affection in his eyes.
“Good morning, Nick. What time is it?” I asked.
“It should be past 8,” he replied after checking his wristwatch. Then I remembered the dream I had. What if it came true? Oh no, my daughter. Why did I oversleep?
“Oh my, I woke up so late. Where is Estella? I need to check on my daughter.” I jumped out of bed, and Nick tried to stop me. “What’s going on with you? I made you breakfast in bed, and why are you in such a hurry to check on our daughter, as if something terrible happened to her?”
“I’m sorry, Nick. You might not understand, but I’ll tell you when I fully understand what has happened to Estella. Right now, I need to make sure my baby is okay. Thanks for the breakfast; I’ll eat it on my way to her room.” To make him happy, I grabbed two slices of bread and a cup of tea before dashing out to my daughter’s room.
“Estella,” I called, thinking she might be in the bathroom. But when I opened the bathroom, she wasn’t there at all.
“Estella! Estella!” I kept calling, and I got no response. I needed to find my child. I rushed out again and ended up colliding with Nicklaus. I guess I was so worried that I hadn’t even noticed Nicklaus.
“Where is Estella? She’s not in her room?” I asked him, thinking he might know her whereabouts since he woke up before me.
“Estella is with her teacher as we speak. Why are you looking so concerned? Did something happen when I wasn’t home yesterday?” He replied, giving me a strange look.
“I’ll talk about it later. I need to see my daughter myself.” I didn’t think telling Nicklaus about it was a good idea. What if he thought a witch was messing with his daughter again and acted impulsively? I remembered how he dealt with the person who tried to harm us before; he had a temper. So, before telling him anything, I needed to be absolutely sure.
“But you can’t go out all dressed like that.” I checked my clothes and hair. I wasn’t properly dressed, so I decided to quickly take a shower, change, and then look for my daughter. “Oh, that’s true. You’re the best.” I kissed his cheek to reassure him before heading into our room.
I took off my clothes and walked toward the bathroom to bathe when I heard the door sound. I knew Nick was in the room, so I decided to ask him, “You didn’t come back early yesterday.”
“Yeah, I was with the pack, that’s why. Did anything happen last night?”
