Gabriella’s POV
I woke up feeling so different, as if a burden had been lifted from my shoulders. “Good morning, mummy,” I heard Estella’s voice. Oh no, I quickly grabbed the blanket to cover myself fully and nudged Nicklaus to wake up.
“My angel, how are you doing this morning? Why didn’t you knock before coming in?” I felt a little embarrassed for my child to see me like this, but I had to cover up somehow.
“I did sleep well, Mom. I’m happy you and Daddy are happy together in the same room,” she said, displaying a wisdom beyond her years.
“Yes, my dearest. What do you think about having a younger brother?” Nicklaus added, and I felt like hitting him.
“Cool, I love that! I’ll give you two some space and let Aunty Margret know you’ve made up with each other.” She left the room with excitement.
“Wow, our kid is a genius. So tell me, love, did you sleep well?” He kissed me gently, and I blushed intensely.
“Yes, I did.” We kissed and held each other; it felt so good to be in his arms.
“It’s already morning; we can’t do this all day,” I said to him as I stopped his advances.
“Okay, just let me hug you for two more minutes.” He asked politely, and I smiled, allowing him to embrace me.
“Just stay like this for a little while. Gosh, how I missed you.” Alpha Nicklaus is really sweet.
He left the room to attend to other matters while I took a bath to prepare for breakfast.
“I think we should all get prepared; it seems we are expecting another child soon,” Margret teased.
“Oh, please. I don’t think I am ready for a child. Anyway, I guess it’s time for breakfast. I’m so hungry,” I yawned loudly and stretched my body.
“Yes, it’s time. How did you manage to make an Alpha prepare breakfast for all of us?” She questioned, and I found it a bit strange.
“I don’t quite understand what you mean. I thought the maids were the ones making breakfast?”
“No, they’re not. Your lover insisted on making breakfast himself. If you doubt me, you can go to the kitchen yourself.” She said with a smile and a wink before leaving. What’s gotten into him? I smiled again.
I walked to the kitchen to see for myself, and there he was, cooking like a pro and looking dashing as ever. I couldn’t believe he would do something so romantic like this. I’m so lucky to have him. No guy has ever made breakfast for me before. I stood at the kitchen door, admiring him, and when I thought I might be caught, I quickly ran off.
Taking my seat at the dining table, my daughter joined me, along with Beta and Margret.
Thinking about everything I’ve been through, I realized Margret took care of me as if I were her own daughter. I thank the Moon Goddess for giving me a mother figure, even if she’s not my biological mother. I’ll treat her as one.
“Gabby, what are you thinking about? Breakfast is served,” Nicklaus said, tapping my shoulder.
“Wow, you made this? Estella, Daddy made breakfast for us. Aren’t you excited?”
“Thank you, Daddy. Let’s eat before the meal gets cold,” Estella said.
Eating with them makes me feel so happy. This is the best memory I would love to hold dear to my heart forever.
In Margret’s private room, I entered to see her. “Let me guess, you’re here to learn some magic spells, right? I won’t be teaching you today. Spend time with Nicklaus,” she said.
“Are you going to do that to me, Mother? I want to spend time with you instead. I’m sure he will need more time to catch up with his daughter,” I said, hugging her from behind. She looked surprised.
“Did you just call me mother, or did I mishear things? And can you stop hugging me?” she questioned.
“No, you didn’t mishear me. I called you mother, and I will do it again. So please teach me more spells, especially the spells to create a portal. I’ve been wishing to learn this spell for a long time. There are things I would love to do with it.”
“I guess last night was so special for you to call me that.”
“Thank you for saving me that night I was attacked by the Black Moon members. If you hadn’t shown up, I would probably be dead by now and wouldn’t be able to see this beautiful day,” I expressed my gratitude from the depths of my heart. She hugged me and said, “You’re welcome, my dear. You’re the New Moon God Luna.”
There she goes again, then God Luna speaks. Anyway, I’ll play along. I’ll do anything just to learn about the magic spells.
“I got you these,” Nicklaus placed some flowers in my hair. “Wow, you look so beautiful.”
“Thank you so much. I guess I should be called the flower girl,” I said excitedly and missed a step. However, Nicklaus caught me before I fell to the ground. Our eyes locked, and my heartbeat became irregular again.
“Are you hurt?” He pulled me up, and I nodded. “Yes, thank you.”
“Let’s take a stroll together.” He held my hands, caressing them.
“Sure, I don’t think I have anything to do right now.”
We walked and talked about so many things. He asked me how I met Margret as well. I told him how I was attacked by the Black Moon Pack, and this made his blood boil with rage, as if he was going to bring death to the pack.
“I’m fine now. Besides, it happened four years ago.”
“You’re my top priority. Anyone that lays a finger on you is definitely asking for my wrath.”
“You look so handsome when you’re filled with rage, especially when your red eyes are out. But I’m safe now with you and our daughter Estella.” I caressed his face, and his eyes returned to their regular blue color.
“I will always protect you.” He held my face, bringing his lips closer to mine, and we kissed deeply.
He carried me in his arms, still kissing me, and we both chuckled.
The beta cleared his throat as a sign to let us know he was standing there with us. “I need to have a word with him now. I will join you and Estella soon,” Nicklaus said to me. I nodded before taking my leave.
