Chapter 112

Book:Hybrid's Redemption Published:2024-7-14

I was hurled into a dark room where I rapidly transformed back to my human form and grabbed my bag, instantly wearing a dress before they would return to carry out their threat.
The luck I had and why I didn’t fight when they grabbed me in the forest, was that they didn’t force me to transform back. At least they still had the decency to let me come here in my wolf form despite it looking humiliating, walking through their pack with every eye pinned on me as a captured rogue. I only took courage from the fact that none of the onlookers knew me and so couldn’t judge me.
Changed into my dress, I curled to a spot in the corner, finally conceding to my running emotions. My body shook with grief because somehow without being told, something tells me I’m going to suffer here if the King doesn’t come to save me.
The King. He wasn’t even around and might never know where I am, how then is he supposed to save me? I might have just given myself a free ticket to hell. From frying pan to fire, more or less.
I looked around my cell, my eyes stopping at the only window situated atop the dingy stinking room, where tiny light was coming in.
There is no way I can escape here. I’m only happy that Muse survived that forest despite not talking to me since then. I’m giving her time to fully recover. We are strong and would do this. I haven’t come this far to be tossed into misery yet again nor would I accept being taken back to that pack once more. I’m done!
The door handle rattled and I looked up, sniffing away snort, and began to standas the creaking door snapped open and a giant handsome man came in, his eyes trailing through my body in a masked lust. “Did you not know that rogues are not allowed in the Pacific region?” He wasn’t like the others. He seemed a bit contained.
“I am not a rogue. I am merely traveling and came upon your men,” I said through tight lips, tired of being called a rogue.
He huffed viciously, gave me a disgusting round-up, and sprinted out of the door. “Bring her! She seems to have a smart mouth!” he commanded someone I didn’t see at first until he appeared from the right-hand side of the cell, grabbed me, and tossed me across his shoulders.
Again I didn’t fight.
Mrs. Dolly told me something when I was going to her library. It was something I already knew, which she merely confirmed. She apprised me that from the moment of the debut of my whispering power and it fed on a soul, anytime I am in optimum distress and show it, it aggravates the demon and draws it out. I don’t want to kill anybody on this trip so I will play along until they think me docile, then when they least expect I will make my escape from here to resume my flight. They can’t stop me.
His hand tightened on my butt, stylishly grabbing my butt cheek. I bit into my cheek, closing my eyes to allay my fury.
“Out!” the handsome man that came to the cell ordered the man when we entered another room and he dropped me. “Lock the door after you and make sure no one makes it past there under any circumstance.” His voice which was formerly soft had now gone cold.
“I am n-”
“Don’t talk until you are ordered to, rogue. I’m not that lenient.”
“The King would kill you if you touch me.” I lifted my chin up in defiance as I told him.
He smirked. “A word coming from one of the King’s one-night stand, huh?”
“I am his true mate.” I pushed. I saw a flicker of fear dash through his visage as much as he tried to repress it.
“We all know who that was. His mate died a long time ago and… He is presently betrothed to Lady Cleopatra.”
I nearly laughed at his false assumption, then I held back when I recollected Paisley’s name is also Cleopatra. “You don’t know many things, sire.”
“And I will say the same thing to you, red-haired beauty. But I would rather want that smart mouth of yours doing something better than talking rubbish.” He stood from his chair and stalked towards me. I backed away, fear clouding my eyes.
Gad, I don’t want to hurt him, please let him stop this.
Who is this man that is talking with so much power and authority? The Alpha of this pack?
“Scared now?” He cocked his brow with an evil smirk. “You should have considered your words more carefully before opening your mouth, like an hapless dog. Come here!” His hand shut out to grab me and draw me to him. “I know what fits whores like you… ummm…” He trailed a finger through my temple, my face tipped up to meet his outrageously, working to conceal the fright in my eyes.
“Let me go or you will regret it,” I forced out.
He gave me a reckless grin. “I don’t mind being destroyed by a woman like you. No wonder the King would want to do something with you… look at you.” He leaned down to sniff my hair, taking a large gulp of air which made me feel nauseous. He disgusts me!
I pushed at his chest repeatedly, despite him not budging. “Let me go, you asshole!”
“Continue that and I will have your mouth sucking on my cock, baby girl.” He grabbed my throat to forcefully tilt my face to him. He bent and kissed me lightly, closed his eyes, and hummed. “ummm, just like honey!” My stomach growled loudly, desecrating the silence.
He broke out laughing while my cheeks burned hot in embarrassment. I have been so drenched in the impression of my predicament not to think of sustenance. No wonder Muse was easily subdued.
“I see you are hungry, eh? Don’t worry I will feed you nicely after you have fed me.” Without any forewarning, he groped my breast, eliciting a vociferous gasp from me.
I tried to wrench away, but his hold was tight as he kept kneading into my breast, furious tears starting to slide down my face. I’m trying to help him but he doesn’t look like he wants to live yet another day.
“Please, don’t do this,” I begged one last time, starting to lose myself and accepting the pull of darkness within me.
“Beg all you want, goddess, I will ravish you-”
The door was smashed out, flying across the room to the wall, and the man that brought me in, dropped in, in a pool of his own blood, a feral-looking half-transformed Alonso barging in. “You die today for touching what belongs to me, Draco!” he growled with fury, his eyes flashing dark, an element I have never seen in him before taking over.
The man that was holding me called Draco, paled, his eyes going white and he jumped back in uttermost terror. “I didn’t know, my King. I swear it!” He shook his hands frantically, instant sweat breaking through him like a fountain of water.
I never knew one can be that afraid.
“Get away from her, bastard!” Alonso’s voice resonated through the walls causing fear to ride through me.
In the split of an eye, he launched aggressively at Draco, and before I could say, Jack Robinson, the room was covered in blood and flesh scattered in different directions.
What the hell just happened?
I panicked, mostly because part of the blood was splashed on me where I was still standing overwhelmed in a corner, the entire incident looking like a movie.
I felt faint, my eyes going foggy. I staggered back as Alonso came towards me, his fangs and claws still covered in the blood of the man he just slaughtered in cold blood. That is not the wolf in him that acted. That is something else. Something I have never seen before.
“W-what are you?” I found my voice to ask, my back coming in contact with the wall behind me.
His icy orbs took me in, having gone back to emerald blue from black. “We will talk about that later. For now, you will tell me what you are doing away from the pack!” I couldn’t concentrate. Not with him covered in blood-someone’s blood! I wanted to puke so badly that when it came, I couldn’t hold it back and let it go on him.
“mmm!” he bawled and I saw his hand come at me to hold me. “It’s okay.”
“You killed him,” I choked out in a sob.
“He deserved to die, Munchkin. No one touches what’s mine.”
“I…”
“You have a lot of explanations to do, Danika. For now, it’s okay. I will have to talk to the Alpha of this pack. Let’s go…” he stated, leading me out of the door, partially carrying me as I still couldn’t find my feet. I just witnessed my mate slaughtering someone in a form I have never seen him before and he has… or rather, we have the person’s blood covering our bodies and he looks like it’s nothing.
A man rushed down the hallway in a frenzy, his forehead creased in hysteria. “Oh, my dear King. I heard you are around and had to rush forth from a meeting. I am so sorry about the behavior of my Beta. I merely told him to make sure…” the man rambled, our appearance not bothering him at all. It was as though this is normal to them. “I am guilty of thinking she is a rogue… forgive me.”
“I need a room and a hot shower for my mate and me!”
