“You’re from Langstel, right? How long do you plan to stay in the capital?” Jason’s tone was particularly cold.
“As long as I want,” Leo frowned. “Why, does the National Security Department control that too?”
Jason sneered, his voice indifferent. “Leo, you have nothing to do with the Bloomer family. Don’t harbor any delusions.”
“You don’t belong in the capital, and you’re not welcome here. I suggest you go back to Langstel sooner rather than later.”
“When did the capital become your Bloomer family’s territory?” Leo scoffed, his tone laced with sarcasm. “No matter how powerful your family is, you can’t control my freedom.”
Jason laughed coldly. “I’m just giving you a piece of advice. The capital isn’t a place for someone like you.”
“Is that so? Well, let me tell you, I’m staying!” Leo’s tone was domineering as he hung up the phone.
Leo tossed his phone onto the bed and gazed out the window, deep in thought. This Bloomer family scion seemed desperate for him to leave the capital. Could it be…
However, despite his defiance, Leo knew he couldn’t stay in the capital for too long. Two hours earlier, he had received a message on his communication watch from Fire Rose, stating that a large number of werewolves had entered Atraria.
Given his enmity with the Modock Family, Leo could guess why these werewolves had come to Atraria. So, he planned to return to Langstel the next day.
He also called Jennifer to strengthen the defenses of the Seven Stars Sword Sect.
Just as Leo was about to wash up and go to bed, there was a knock on the door. Opening it, he found Xavier standing there.
“Brother Leon, can we go out and have some fun?” Xavier grinned.
“What kind of fun?” Leo was slightly taken aback. From Xavier’s expression, he knew the kid was up to something.
“Brother Leon, you promised to help me stand out before. Now’s the chance.” Xavier’s eyes were full of anticipation.
Leo laughed helplessly. “You little rascal, let’s go.”
The location was a high-end club. Since Leo was leaving the next day, he didn’t even bother to remember the club’s name.
In an upscale private room, Xavier ordered two pitchers of beer. They had barely started drinking when an angry shout came from outside: “Damn it! Who took my room? Didn’t I tell you I reserved this room?”
“Zachary Wright, Levi Watson, Wyatt, the people inside… we can’t afford to offend them…” The club manager greeted each of them respectfully, his tone full of grievance.
They were all young masters from prominent families in the capital; he couldn’t afford to offend either side.
“Can’t afford to offend? So you can afford to offend us!?”
With that, there was a loud slap as the manager got hit across the face.
“Brother Leon, Zachary Wright, Wyatt, and Levi Watson are here,” Xavier quickly said upon hearing the commotion outside.
Before Xavier finished speaking, there was a loud bang as someone kicked open the door.
Three young men around Xavier’s age walked in, their hair slicked back and wearing branded suits-clearly sons of wealthy families.
“Damn it! Who dares to take our room… Oh, it’s Xavier!?” They were about to curse but lit up with joy upon seeing Xavier.
“Xavier, you coward! You ran off before finishing our bet last time and have been avoiding me ever since!” Zachary Wright fumed. “Let’s see where you run this time!”
“Yeah, running off halfway through a bet is not manly at all!”
“If you’re scared, just call Zachary ‘big brother’ and admit defeat.”
Wyatt and Levi added fuel to the fire, laughing gleefully as they sat down and started drinking.
“Admit defeat? Dream on!” Xavier scoffed at Zachary.
“Then finish the bet with me! Let’s settle this tonight!” Zachary said confidently.
“Xavier, if you’re too scared to bet, just let Zachary have your girl,” Levi chimed in.
“Who said I’m scared? And she’s my girlfriend; no way I’m giving her up!” Xavier retorted angrily.
“Oh, so you’re going back on your word? Fine, from now on I’ll call you a toad whenever I see you!” Zachary sneered.
“A toad who reneges on bets! Haha, fitting!” Wyatt and Levi laughed uproariously.
“Damn it!” Xavier grabbed a beer bottle, ready to fight.
“Come on then, coward! Who’s afraid of who? You talk big but can’t back it up!” Zachary grabbed a bottle too, smashing it and pointing it at Xavier menacingly.
Leo pulled Xavier back and asked with a smile, “Hold on. What’s going on here?”
“They were betting on who could drink more. The loser had to let the winner ride his girl,” Wyatt explained with a smirk before Xavier could speak. “Xavier couldn’t keep up and ran off halfway through.”
“Bullshit! I had something urgent! And she’s my legitimate girlfriend!” Xavier shouted angrily.
“Oh, I see,” Leo nodded with a smile. “Xavier, that’s not right. Even if you don’t want Zachary’s girl, you shouldn’t avoid him.”
Wyatt and the others were momentarily stunned by Leo’s words but quickly understood his implication. Zachary’s face turned red with anger.
“Watch your mouth! What do you mean he doesn’t want my girl? He couldn’t keep up with me; I’m supposed to ride his girl!”
“Stop bragging and let him drink with me!”
Zachary shouted furiously.
“No problem. With Xavier’s drinking capacity, he could outdrink all three of you at once!” Leo said cheerfully, patting Xavier on the shoulder.
Xavier turned pale and nearly slipped off his chair. He tugged at Leo’s sleeve, signaling that his drinking capacity was poor.
Leo seemed oblivious to Xavier’s hint and continued provoking Zachary and his friends. “My brother Xavier wants to challenge all three of you at once. Do you dare?”
Xavier felt like dying; what was Brother Leon thinking? This was way too reckless!
