Mia
I was enraged. I was mad. How dare they take me against my wish? It was ridiculous that they did that and believed I wouldn’t be mad about it. What a crazy lot that they were.
I looked around at where we were as we became form again. It was dirty, shaggy and looked ridiculous just as they were.
The one holding me released me and smiled as he stared at me. “Welcome home.”
I snorted, looking at the others. They seemed to be saying the same thing with their eyes and I shook my head at how pathetic they were. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t assume that I would find it comfortable here after what they had done.
I moved away from them, hissing with annoyance. I looked around, searching for an escape route but there was no path at all. Everywhere surrounding us was filled with bushes and dense trees and I didn’t want to run into them when I had no idea of how safe they were.
I didn’t want to dash into the bushes and find myself in a situation that would make me regret my life. It was no wonder that the bastards were teleporting as they wished.
They scowled at my reaction. “You don’t like your new home.”
I wanted to snap at them. They should stop calling this place my home. It was never going to be. “Is there anything to like about it?” I snorted, driving my point home with the look of disgust I had on my face as I surveyed the environment.
They cringed at the look in my eyes and hissed at me. “Don’t look at it that way. It’s rude to stare at someone’s house with disgust.”
“It’s rude to bring someone to your house without permission.” I snapped at them.
Their expression suddenly softened and I wondered if they were crazy. They should be angry. They shouldn’t find this funny because it wasn’t meant to be. They should find me annoying and take me back to where they had taken me from. They shouldn’t be laughing like we were friends.
I sighed as I looked at the smiles budding on their faces. I guessed I had to try harder to wipe that smile off their faces.
“You are angry.” One of them smiled.
I bristled with annoyance. Were they daft? “Don’t I have the right to be?”
“You do but you will get to like this place once you stay here.”
“I doubt that.” I hissed.
“Be open minded.” They encouraged.
I snorted. My mind was as open as it could but I couldn’t see the beauty here that they were telling me of. Maybe I needed to whine. Guys didn’t know what to do with a girl that cried, maybe they would get pissed if I started crying and get rid of me. I just needed them to return me to where the boys were.
“I want to go home.” I whined.
“You do?” Their faces lit up with excitement. “Come. Let’s show you your home.”
I panicked as they held me by the arm and pulled me towards a house. This wasn’t what was meant to happen. No. Not at all. This was a mistake.
They dragged me into the house and into a room that looked worse on the inside that it did on the outside. I struggled to keep my belly from protesting and keeping the contents down. I didn’t think I wanted to vomit in their presence. These creatures were crazy. They could think that I was gushing out my love for them.
“This will be your room.”
Oh-oh. Dear Lord, help me. I didn’t think that I could keep my stomach from revolting.
“Why am I here?”
“To be our bride.”
“I’m mated already.” I wouldn’t have believed months ago that I was going to say that one day to get myself out of a nasty situation.
“To the wolves?” The leader of the group snorted. “Oh, you can do better.”
“With you?” I asked in disbelief.
“Of course.” He smiled, smiling at me with teeth that looked bigger and stronger than my bones. “You will find out soon that we are better than the wolves.”
I sighed. It seemed like someone was suffering from an overdose of ego. How could he dare to compare himself to my mates?
“I don’t think so.” I repeated.
They ignored me. “Make yourself comfortable.” They said and walked out of the room. “We will be back.”
I hoped that they didn’t. I hoped that something, anything struck them down as they were leaving and they fall down dead. I didn’t hear screams of pain or the thuds of heavy bodies falling to the ground and knew that they were still very much alive.
An hour later, they were back, carrying with them a tray. They set it before me and smiled. “Your lunch.”
I snorted. They were kidding if they thought that I was going to eat that. “I’m not hungry.”
“Eat. We can’t watch you starve.”
“I never told you I was hungry.”
“Okay. You will eat it later when you are hungry. Will you like to have a bath?”
“I guess. Being here with you makes me feel dirty.”
They smiled and went out of the room. They were back with a tub of water, a towel and a cloth. I wondered where they had gotten the cloth from. Had they been planning to take me for days and we had no idea of it?
They set it down, their smiles still fixed in place on their faces. “Here. Have your bath, change and come outside for air. We are playing a game that you will enjoy.”
“I doubt that.”
“Why?”
“I hate anything you enjoy.”
“You don’t even know the game it is.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
They ignored me. “Make sure you change the cloth.”
“Why?”
“It smells of the wolves. We don’t like competition. It doesn’t make sense for your bride to smell like another man.”
“I would rather smell like the wolves than like you.”
They ignored me again. “Have your bath and come outside. Knock when you are done. We will come for you.”
I sat there, not moving an inch from where I was. I didn’t even glance at the tub. The room had one tiny window and there was no way of escaping through it. The only way of escaping was the door and I was sure they would have locked it. I didn’t bother moving to check it and letting them know I was thinking of escaping.
Two hours later, I heard footsteps and I jumped to my feet. It was time to execute my crazy escape plans. I moved to the tub, carried it and stayed in front of the locked door.
I could hear all what they said as they moved towards the room.
“Let’s give her more time.”
“She has had enough. What kind of girl has her bath and dresses up for two hours?”
“One who doesn’t want to see us.”
“Which is why I’m worried. She could have done something to herself. Remember the fifth bride we brought here? She had escaped through the window and gotten herself killed in the swamp.”
No wonder I was in a room with a tiny window. I wondered what number I was. I finally knew what was in those bushes but I wasn’t deterred. I would still run from here.
They opened the door and I poured the water on them. They were stunned and struggled for a moment, wiping water off their body. I used that moment to run. I gasped as I was pulled back from behind. I hadn’t even run far.
“You crazy bitch.” The one holding me cursed.
“That makes two of us.” I grinned.
He slapped me hard across the face and I winced as my lips bled. My face stung with pain but I wasn’t going to show it.
“Now, I have had enough of pampering you and trying to make you like us.”
I scoffed. I knew their actions and reactions were fake. I was glad to have exposed them. “You will have to try harder than that. You can ask the boys how they did it if you return me to them.”
“You bet we will.” He snorted as he dragged me outside and locked me in a cage. “A little time here will set your senses straight.”
This was better than the room but I couldn’t stop looking out of the cage, hoping that the boys would come to my rescue. I wondered how they were at the moment and tears trailed down my face.
