Mia
I would have thought that Sasha was tricking her when she kept directing Quinn to drive deeper into a forest until we got to a clearing and I saw a hut in there.
What a perfect place for the two of them. Sasha must have run out of cash to afford a hotel and her master clearly wasn’t interested in getting a job. He would rather indulge in his silly delusions about taking over the world and letting his weak student run around for their survival. I almost pitied her at that moment. It must have been frustrating for her and she wasn’t getting what she had hoped to get from the deal.
She must have been to the mall to get groceries for the two of them with the little she could afford. I knew that she would be the one to cook even if she was tired from shopping.
What a privileged life her master was living. Well, she had asked for it. I slammed her out of my thoughts and watched as the boys got out of the car.
“Here?” Quinn asked.
“Yes.” She nodded.
“Is he around?”
“He has and has probably sensed you.”
“What did dad say, Jack?”
“He is on his way.”
“Good. Let’s move.” Quinn ordered. “Be at alert, boys and don’t get too close to him. We only need to drain him of enough blood so we can capture him easily.”
“Be careful.” I muttered to them.
“Stay in the car.” Jack warned.
I nodded, even though I knew that I was going to jump out of it if I sensed that they were in trouble.
“I see you brought home some guests, Sasha.” The dark wizard said, coming out of the hut and walking towards the boys.
Good. I would be able to see the battle.
“They found me, master. I’m sorry I had no choice but to bring them home.”
The dark wizard chuckled. “Don’t worry, Sasha. I don’t blame you. They must have missed our last date.”
“To hell with you.” Quinn hissed.
The dark wizard chuckled. “I can assure you that you would be going there before me. I will be the one to send you.”
“You wish.” Quinn hissed.
The dark wizard turned to Sasha. “Get me my wand, girl. Let me get rid of this nuisance finally. I would be happy to break the news of your death to poor Albert.”
Sasha rushed in and came out with a black egg. She threw it at the dark wizard and we all wondered what she was doing. Was she helping him get stronger?
“What have you done?” The dark wizard growled at her.
I exhaled, loving the relief that swept through me. She really meant it when she had said that she wanted to be free of the dark wizard.
“What I have always wanted to do but I couldn’t because I couldn’t fight you on my own.” Sasha replied.
The dark wizard chuckled and swayed on his feet, feeling the effect of what Sasha had done to him.
“You traitor.” He yelled at her. “You know this isn’t going to kill me.”
“But it is going to give the wolves the edge they need to defeat you.”
The boys didn’t waste any time when they heard that. They shifted and charged at the dark wizard, slashing him from the sides with their claws.
He groaned, fighting them off and casting spells to hurt them by waving his hand but they had anticipated his moves and quickly moved out of his way.
I looked at the battle scene with my heart in my mouth. I was afraid and wondered when Albert was going to get here. Even without the dark wizard using his wand and the effect of the charm Sasha had broken on him, he didn’t seem like he was going down anytime soon. He was still standing strong and fighting though he had lost some amount of blood because he couldn’t move himself quickly out of the boys’ way. I couldn’t wait for Albert to get here as fast as he could. Having another werewolf in the slashing battle would up the game.
Suddenly in the blink of an eye, the dark wizard stretched his hand towards the entrance of the hut and his wand came flying out to him. He staggered as he got the wand in his hand and I ran out of the car without thinking.
The battle had just become dangerous. He must have known that he was losing the battle and didn’t want to go down alone. I didn’t know what I wanted to do but my instincts were all screaming that I shouldn’t sit there while the boys were about to perish.
The dark wizard waved his wand and captured the boys in a bubble just as he had done that other night. I could hear their struggles as they tried to break free but we all knew that they wouldn’t be able to.
Their eyes enlarged with fear as they realized what I found out minutes earlier. The dark wizard wasn’t going to let them live this night.
The dark wizard turned to Sasha. “I have to get rid of you before dealing with those furry idiots.” He said and waved his wand.
He flicked it and pointed it at Sasha. She went up in flames and started screaming, running her hands all over her body.
“No! Stop it.” I screamed.
The dark wizard turned to me and smirked. He snapped his fingers and Sasha lay dead on the ground, badly burnt. I thought that I hated Sasha but realized that I didn’t when I couldn’t help the tears that fell from my eyes on seeing her corpse.
“Awwn.” The dark wizard mocked me. “It seems like you still like your friend even though she betrayed you.” He turned to the boys with his wand raised. “Now, let’s see if you will shed tears for your brothers, even though you hate them.”
“If you do, then you are an angel.” He winked at me.
“It takes a devil to know who an angel is.” I scoffed at him.
He laughed and began waving his wand in his hand, casting a spell that I had no doubt was destructive enough to kill the boys.
I fidgeted on my legs, torn between my desire to run to them and knowing that I couldn’t help them. If the dark wizard was casting a spell that was strong enough to kill the wolves, I wouldn’t stand a chance if I got in his path. I would be gone in an instant.
I glanced at the boys and was struck speechless. They had their eyes focused on me and the expressions in the three pairs of eyes weakened me and made my mouth run dry. It could be the realization that death was near for them that gave them courage and made them willing to bear all that was in them at that last moment.
I saw love shining so deeply out of their eyes and had no doubt that it was for me. I was stunned at how much they felt for me and started crying even the lightning streaking out of the dark wizards hitting them.
The dark wizard turned to me, looking stunned. “You are crying. You don’t hate them after all. What a waste. I will have to kill you too.”
He growled in anger, cursing at the boys with all his might. He flicked his wand and yelled as Albert rushed into the scene with a mirror at the last minute and stood before the boys, ruining the spell.
Albert had transferred the spell back to him but he was affected as well. The dark wizard fell back and I could see his skin turning to mist, fading away. He gasped as he realized what was happening to him and escaped, dissolving into air droplets as he usually did.
The boys bounced to the ground and shifted back to their human forms. I didn’t have the time to be worried of their naked states as there was a bigger problem.
Albert had frozen.
