Chapter 136: Just Hold On

Once Bianca’s car crossed the bridge, she would reach the theater. But in the middle of the bridge, things took a turn.
Suddenly, another car came speeding from the opposite direction and collided with Sophia’s vehicle. The driver attempted to swerve, but it was futile. The impact from a fast-moving sedan sent their car skidding towards the bridge’s edge, almost tipping over.
Luckily, a black sports car intervened just in time, nudging Sophia’s teetering vehicle and preventing a disaster. Despite ending up overturned and on the brink, Sophia’s car stayed just a meter from a deadly drop.
The crash caused chaos on the bridge, halting traffic completely.
“What? An accident? Sophia, are you alright?” Bianca asked in shock.
“Yeah, I’m okay, Bianca. Just hold on. I’ll be there soon,” Sophia replied before ending the call. She couldn’t help but stare at Michael.
If Michael hadn’t arrived in his car just in time to intercept Sophia’s vehicle, it would have crashed into the bridge railings and possibly been destroyed.
With the bridge now impassable by car, Michael arranged for a motorcycle to arrive. He planned to take Sophia to the theater using a motorcycle.
Sitting on the edge of the bridge, Sophia was overcome with emotion. She felt grateful to Michael but struggled to find the right words to express it.
Meanwhile, the theater’s audition livestream began at ten in the morning, attracting millions of viewers and causing a network crash.
Bianca watched the theater’s entrance nervously, feeling anxious but maintaining a calm behavior.
Just then, Vincent approached and gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder.
“Bianca, where’s Sophia? Why isn’t she here?” Vincent sounded worried.
“She got into a car accident on her way here. She’ll be arriving soon,” Bianca reassured him.
“An accident?” Vincent frowned, sensing the seriousness in Bianca’s voice.
Bianca bit her lip anxiously, nodding at Vincent with an apologetic look. “I’m sorry. I didn’t expect this.”
“On a day like today, with something unexpected happening, it’s hard to believe, isn’t it?” Vincent remarked, his words carrying a deeper meaning. Then, he turned and walked towards the stage.
Bianca grew anxious and quickly called Diana. “Diana, can you find out everything about the car crash on Bay Bridge this morning? I need to know what happened.”
As the live broadcast continued, millions of viewers were glued to their screens. The chat was flooded with comments scrolling too fast to follow.
Vincent stepped onto the stage, warmly welcoming everyone before introducing the judges and the special guest, renowned actor Nicolas Foster!
When Nicolas appeared, the live audience erupted in excitement.
For Bianca, it was thrilling to see Nicolas up close for the first time. He had risen to fame quickly, winning numerous awards. Besides his striking looks, his acting skills were flawless.
Nicolas was a rare gem, celebrated for his handsome looks and outstanding talent.
His fame outshone others, making him a favorite in the public’s eyes.
He was truly beloved nationwide, a heartthrob.
Nicolas stood confidently in his sleek suit, capturing the attention and admiration of countless viewers.
Below the stage, Zoey couldn’t help but remark, “He truly lives up to his reputation as the top actor. He’s even more impressive in person than on screen.”
Natalie shrugged dismissively. “Nicolas is fine, but my Mr. Evans stands out more.”
“Mr. Evans?” Zoey remembered the handsome man she had seen at the Flourish Club. He was indeed more striking than Nicolas, with a cold manner. But how could he compete with a star actor?
“When did he become yours?” Zoey asked, raising an eyebrow at Natalie.
Natalie waved her hand casually. “It’s just a matter of time.”
As the event continued, it was time for Sophia and Natalie to take the spotlight. However, with Sophia still missing, Vincent had to skip that part of the program.
“Where’s Sophia? She should have been here by now,” Natalie asked, her brow furrowing.
Zoey scoffed, “Who knows? Maybe she decided not to show up.” She glanced over at Bianca, who looked visibly anxious.
As the audience for the live stream continued to grow, Vincent decided to start the audition without any further delay.
The audition was structured into three parts, and before each scene, the actors received their scripts just moments before performing. This was to keep the movie’s storyline confidential. The scripts were creatively adapted from the lead role in Vincent’s upcoming film.
With Sophia missing, Natalie had to take the stage first for her performance.
Natalie got her script, and ten minutes later, she walked onto the stage, smiling brightly for the camera.
Her fans’ comments flooded the screen.
“Look at her, she’s amazing!”
“She’s so gorgeous; I can’t believe it!”
A spotlight beamed down on Natalie, making the stage glow around her.
Natalie took on the script, which had shades of a “Romeo and Juliet” performance she’d previously aced. This time, the tragic love story was infused with intense rivalry, heightening the emotional drama.
Drawing from her previous role, Natalie’s eyes sparkled with a blend of sadness and catharsis. Her acting was flawless, and every gesture was perfectly timed.
As the lights dimmed, Natalie rose, delicately wiping away a tear from her cheek.
Viewers flooded the live stream with praise.
“That was so moving! I was in tears!”
“Natalie is hands down the best actress!”
“She absolutely slays every role she takes on!”
“Why even debate it? Natalie is the ultimate star!”
The applause thundered, confirming her mastery.
Next in line was Sophia, but the theater doors remained shut, eerily silent.
The livestream viewers started to doubt Sophia’s absence on stage.
“Where’s Sophia? She’s up next. Did Natalie’s amazing performance scare her off?”
“Maybe Sophia’s just getting ready backstage. Let’s give her some time.”
“I heard Sophia hasn’t even shown up yet.”
“What? How could she be late for such an important audition? What’s going on with her?”
“Let Vincent just give the role to Natalie!”
The judges grew serious, whispering among themselves. Bianca sensed they were criticizing Sophia, and even Nicolas glanced at his watch irritably.
Ten minutes dragged by, and the whispers turned into mocking remarks aimed at Sophia.
“Sophia’s chickened out!” “She’s embarrassing herself!”
Zoey, standing near Natalie, gave her shoulders a comforting pat and shot Bianca a smug look.
She had sworn to make sure Bianca failed and was determined to make that happen.
Zoey imagined that after today, everyone would look down on Bianca and Sophia. She couldn’t see how Bianca could ever challenge her.
With a satisfied grin, Zoey shook off the memory of being humiliated at Vincent’s party, where Bianca had embarrassed her in front of everyone.
Meanwhile, Bianca stayed calm and quietly waited.
