Chapter 1352: Identification

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-7-13

“Why bother with dinner? Let’s go now! I don’t care about my birthday; I want a grandson!” Old Mrs. Bloomer exclaimed, slapping the table in urgency.
Jason and Jacob had no choice but to discuss the matter. They decided that Jason would stay to entertain the guests while Jacob accompanied Nicholas, Leo, Josiah, and others to the hospital for the identification.
Thanks to Jacob’s connections, they quickly found a renowned medical institution in the capital.
The doctor collected samples of blood, hair follicles, hair, and oral swabs from both Nicholas and Leo. They were then told to wait patiently for twenty-four hours for the results.
In reality, the institution could provide results in as little as eight hours, but due to the Bloomer family’s status, they didn’t want to take any risks.
Opting for a twenty-four-hour result was a safer choice.
“Doctor, remember, no matter what, there must be no mistakes. Otherwise, I’ll hold you accountable!” Jacob warned sternly before leaving.
This matter allowed no room for error, as the results could change the fate of Leo and the next generation of the Bloomer family.
After leaving the medical institution, Jacob left his contact information with Leo and then took Nicholas away.
Josiah drove Leo back to the hotel and said with a smile, “Don’t stress. The results should be as expected. I’ll inform you as soon as they are out.”
He had already notified Harvey Chapmanson to retrieve the results immediately when they were ready.
Leo returned to the hotel still somewhat dazed from the recent events.
A loving grandmother, a stern grandfather, a resolute mother, a harsh uncle, an indifferent third uncle, and hostile siblings…
Leo suddenly felt tired and sighed softly. He missed Sophia and took out his phone to call her.
“Sophia, I miss you…” Leo said sincerely as soon as the call connected.
Sophia sensed something was wrong in Leo’s tone and quickly asked, “Leo, what’s wrong?”
Leo lay on the bed and recounted everything that had happened in the capital without missing a detail.
After listening to Leo’s story, Sophia was silent for a moment before softly saying, “It seems you are most likely a member of the Bloomer family… When that happens… will you leave me?”
“Leave you? Why?” Leo couldn’t help but laugh.
“If you really are a Bloomer family descendant, you’ll be a wealthy young master in the capital. Beautiful women will surround you, and you might not fancy me anymore,” Sophia joked.
“Well, I hadn’t thought of that. But now that you mention it, it could be possible,” Leo laughed.
“Hmph, you heartbreaker!” Sophia said angrily.
“Sophia,” Leo’s tone suddenly became incredibly gentle, “rest assured, no matter where or when, you are always the person I care about most.”
“The only reason I came to the capital was to uncover my origins. The Bloomer family’s fame and status mean nothing compared to you.”
On the other end of the line, Sophia’s eyes welled up with tears.
They chatted for a while longer before saying goodnight to each other.
Early the next morning, Leo’s phone suddenly rang.
The call was from Joshua.
When he answered, Joshua’s anxious voice came through: “Mr. Bloomer, you need to hide in Langstel!”
“Mr. Joshua, what happened? Don’t worry, take your time,” Leo frowned slightly.
“The third young master of the Bloomer family has come looking for you! The bar manager sold me out. Xavier is outside our company with some thugs causing trouble. You need to hide in Langstel before he catches you,” Joshua urged.
Leo couldn’t help but smile.
Honestly, although Xavier had clashed with him before, Leo had the least prejudice against him among the younger generation of the Bloomer family.
Xavier was somewhat reckless but at least not as arrogant as his siblings.
“If I leave, what about you? Tell him not to act rashly; I’ll be there soon,” Leo said calmly.
“Mr. Bloomer, you can’t! You hit him that day; he won’t let you off easily!” Joshua panicked. “Listen to me and leave quickly. I didn’t hit him that day; he won’t do anything to me.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Joshua. Wait for me and tell me the company address. I’ll be right there!”
After hanging up, Leo got ready and left.
Arriving at Leo & Rose Cosmetics’ capital branch, Leo was led by Joshua’s secretary directly to the general manager’s office on the twentieth floor.
This floor also housed the marketing department employees in an open-plan office.
At this moment, all employees were distractedly watching the reception area.
Five people were in the reception area, one of whom was Xavier.
He was casually flipping through books on the reception shelf, tearing them apart one by one and tossing them aside while muttering, “What kind of stuff is this!”
The other four were rummaging through snacks in the reception area, eating some and throwing others around, making a mess.
Joshua knelt on the floor nearby with a bruised face, holding a flower pot over his head with a pained expression.
“Is that kid coming or not? If he doesn’t show up soon, I’ll smash this company!” Xavier said impatiently as he tossed another torn book aside.
Leo caught the torn book mid-air and coldly said, “Put all those books back together and pick up all the snacks from the floor. Eat them all!”
Xavier turned abruptly at the sound of Leo’s voice. Seeing him, he exclaimed in surprise, “It’s you?”
Yesterday afternoon when he saw Leo, Xavier had found him familiar but couldn’t place him immediately.
Now seeing Leo again made him realize that it was indeed Leo who had hit him at the bar that night!
“Well done! You came straight away; you’re quite bold!” Xavier said with interest after sizing up Leo. “I heard you went for a paternity test with my grandfather yesterday?”
“If you’re really my second uncle’s son, I’ll have to call you Brother Leon!”
“Indeed, third brother is very sensible,” Leo nodded approvingly at him.
“Hey now, let’s not jump to conclusions. Whether you’re Brother Leon or not is still uncertain. The paternity test results aren’t out yet; we have no relationship now. Let’s settle our score from that day,” Xavier said with a tilt of his head.
“How do you want to settle it?” Leo asked with a smile.
“It’s simple. Since you’re good at fighting, I brought four people today just for you.”
“If you can beat all four of them, whether or not you’re part of the Bloomer family, I’ll acknowledge you as my elder brother-no wait… Sheldon is my elder brother; I’ll call you Brother Leon.”
